However, the most comfortable weather is considered to be from April to October. Therefore, in March there is still time to plan excursions in the most pleasant weather. Also, a beach holiday will bring satisfaction, especially near the waters of the Gulf of Aqaba, where the air temperature in March is +26°C.

In March there is no stifling heat yet, so the beginning of spring is a fertile period for diving and relaxing on the beach for the whole day.
In spring, Jordan is not yet stuffy, so there is time for educational excursions.

Holidays on the Red Sea

For those who are looking forward to the discovery of Egypt, but still can’t wait, as well as for lovers of the Red Sea, with its gorgeous coral reefs, there is an analogue - Jordan (Gulf of Aqaba) and Israel (Eilat).

But in fact, there is still no alternative to the year-round availability of Egyptian resorts, either in price or in terms of seasonality. And yet, there are some places where you can go without a visa in the spring and snorkel in your beloved Red Sea.

Not everyone likes the Asian flavor and the long 11-hour flight. Also, there are still ardent fans of all-inclusive holidays, in other words adherents of “seal holidays”. But not everyone can afford to plan a vacation in the summer (to Turkey, for example).

Let's talk about each resort in order:

Jordan (Aqaba)

Due to the location of the mountains around this resort, the air temperature throughout the year does not fall below +22 degrees, the average water temperature is +20 degrees.

You can get to Aqaba by purchasing a ticket to Amman or by charter flight as part of a package tour.

The wealth of the underwater world is the main attraction of the Gulf of Aqaba coast. In the northern part of the Gulf of Aqaba the beaches are sandy, while closer to the south they are more rocky with coral reefs. There are beaches that belong to hotels, and there are also public ones where locals can relax.

Of course, prices for holidays in Egypt and Jordan are not comparable, even though the sea is the same.

A tour to Jordan for 9-10 nights (2 adults) will cost at least 100 thousand rubles.

Israel (Eilat)

The average air temperature in Eilat is +26 degrees, the sea water temperature is +21 degrees.

Unlike its neighbor Egypt, in Israel you can book a hotel on a breakfast or half board basis (breakfast + dinner), thanks to the developed infrastructure and transport accessibility in the resort area.

Despite the “antiquity” of this city, there are few attractions in Eilat. Everyone comes here for the Red Sea, diving and snorkeling.

Unlike Aqaba, which is surrounded by a chain of mountains and reliably protected from the wind, Eilat in March is characterized by winds (“hasmin”), which create discomfort when leaving the water. The weather in March in Eilat has a “sharply continental” character - the sun can warm up and become hot as soon as it disappears behind the clouds - you want to wear a jacket.

In April, the sun begins to “hot”, and as a result, the water in the sea warms up to 23 degrees. Humidity levels are very low this month. For those who do not tolerate heat well due to humidity - just right.

Therefore, if you are planning your trip to the Red Sea in April and don’t know what to choose, I still recommend Jordan. The climate there will be more comfortable this month. If you need resort infrastructure + excursions to Jerusalem, then Israel.

Although in Israel it is much more interesting - a variety of beaches for every taste and color: beaches where you can swim with dolphins, beaches with gorgeous reefs and marine life, a wild and reserved beach.

1. Türkiye

When I flew to Turkey on a business trip, I even managed to burn out. However, I never dared to go into the sea, even during the hottest hours (from 12-00 to 14-00). Nevertheless, many tourists calmly swam in the sea, some even took a long swim. Of course, everyone has their own “temperature” threshold, in other words, some are “freezing” like me, and others are more seasoned.

I think the prices are a huge advantage of visiting Turkey in March-April - you have the chance to relax in a quality hotel, where the food is delicious and the rooms are comfortable. The cost of a holiday in such hotels in the summer season is simply off the charts.

In addition, I would note the opportunity to sunbathe and simply breathe the sea for health, finally go to the gym and warm up in the sauna.

What about swimming? If you can't, like me, go into 20-21 degree water, there are always heated and indoor pools on site. In addition, many hotels have wind protection (a kind of canopy).

2. Tunisia

If you are considering Tunisia as a beach holiday in March-April, then I recommend choosing the island of Djerba. There the sea will be 2-3 degrees warmer, and the weather will be less windy and rainy.

As in Turkey, for little money, you can choose a hotel with thalassotherapy, buy a healing course with therapeutic mud and Tunisian clay, at a big discount.

And by the way, in April, fragrant strawberries are already ripening in Turkey and Tunisia.

3. Cyprus

This sunny island cannot fail to please its guests. It’s worth coming here for delicious Greek cuisine, gentle sunshine and the aromas of orange trees blossoming.

The sea temperature will be about the same as in Turkey - 20-21 degrees. I recommend entering the water from Nissi Beach, where the water is shallow and the water will be a little warmer.
