How to knit nets for vegetables. We are solving an age-old problem: what to do with mesh “string bags” for vegetables and fruits. What profit will the organizer of the production of vegetable nets receive?

Vegetable mesh is a popular type of container in Russia, which is in high demand everywhere. Such bags are used by farmers and industrial enterprises to package products - this way they are stored longer, and each buyer can visually assess the freshness of the packaged goods. And since there is such a high demand for products, why not open your own production of mesh for vegetables and fruits? And even though investments in business are quite impressive, they will pay off fairly quickly if the entrepreneur has a competent policy. What points should be disclosed when drawing up a business plan for a future enterprise?

Our business assessment:

Starting investments – from 1,600,000 rubles.

Market saturation is average.

The difficulty of starting a business is 6/10.

Can you offer a large range of products to customers?

Even such simple products can be produced in different designs, offering customers a larger assortment. Modern equipment is multifunctional and allows you to change the composition of raw materials in order to obtain products of different colors (red, blue, green, purple). And depending on the knitting method, the “pattern” of the product may change. Also, the mesh bag for vegetables has different load capacity - 2.5-50 kg.

The competition in this niche is not very strong yet, but an entrepreneur should still think about organizing a mini plant for the production of vegetable mesh, which not only mass-produces finished products, but also works for specific wholesale clients, selling them that product (by color and size) that is required to perform specific tasks.

Purchase of necessary raw materials

Even before the line is set up, it is necessary to find reliable suppliers of quality raw materials. Vegetable mesh for packing and packing vegetables is made on the basis of plastic. And here the entrepreneur can choose one of the possible options:

  • ready-made HDPE granules,

The average cost of granules ready for processing is ≈30-50 rubles/kg.

If possible, it is better to organize collection points for used plastic throughout the city and at the enterprise itself. Such production is more profitable from a financial point of view - there is no need to spend money on regular purchase and delivery of components. But the labor costs here are a little more than when using ready-made raw materials - you need to sort the waste and regularly monitor collection points.

Manufacturing technology of mesh bags

The production of vegetable mesh as a business is also beneficial in the sense that the technology for manufacturing finished products is simple - the main operations here are carried out using special equipment.

The mesh sleeve turns out like this:

  • Dosing of raw materials and mixing it with dye.
  • Receiving thread and then winding it onto large bobbins.
  • Obtaining woven fabric.
  • Cutting the whole fabric into separate meshes.
  • Packaging of finished products.

Technical equipment of the production workshop

The next thing the entrepreneur has to take care of is to buy equipment for the production of vegetable mesh. You need to choose equipment based on your planned sales volumes of finished products. And depending on the productivity of the machines, their price on the market will also change.

Vegetable mesh production line

A fully equipped and ready-to-work line for the production of vegetable netting includes the following names of machines and devices:

  • mixer with dispenser,
  • extruder,
  • looms,
  • cutting machine,
  • packaging press.

A small enterprise is unlikely to need to purchase a high-power line - low- or medium-capacity equipment is suitable here. This way, you won’t have to spend a lot of money on equipping the workshop, and the finished products won’t sit in warehouses waiting for their customers. The price of equipment for the production of vegetable nets with an average capacity of 15-20 million nets annually is ≈1,200,000-1,800,000 rubles.

To place all the necessary equipment in the workshop and provide warehouses and staff rooms here, you will need a room with an area of 400-1000 m2. Light, water and sewerage must be supplied here. To save on rent, you can rent a building somewhere on the outskirts of the village.

How profitable is the business?

Potato netting is in great demand, and therefore we can expect a quick return on investment for the enterprise. The specific timing will depend on the investments made in the business. To buy a machine for the production of vegetable netting, prepare the premises for work and stock up on raw materials, you will need at least 1,800,000 rubles.

As for profit, the calculations can be based on the following data. The wholesale price of 1 mesh is 2-5 rubles. At the same time, its cost is 1-3 rubles/piece.

Knitting washcloths is one of the easiest and most successful ideas for recycling nets in which vegetables are packaged. Unlike their knitted or terry “brothers,” knitted washcloths do not rot in a humid environment, which allows you to store the washcloth constantly in the bathroom and not worry about keeping it dry. To knit them, you can use all the nets that come into your home along with products from the market or supermarket, because you can’t have too many washcloths, because according to hygiene rules, only one person should use it. In addition, a handmade item takes into account all the whims and preferences of the owner. Below are several of the most proven options for knitting washcloths.

Crochet washcloths.

Tied washcloth. Tie a regular foam sponge (preferably oval or round in shape) with yarn, which is obtained from a vegetable mesh cut into strips. The strips are cut 4-5 cm wide, preferably in a spiral. Knit in single crochets for greater rigidity of the product. They start tying in different ways: either from the core or from the sides of the sponge. If the vegetable nets are different in color and thickness, then you get a multi-colored “massage” washcloth.
A washcloth knitted only from vegetable mesh. It turns out to be tough, not for everyone, but it has one huge advantage: a knitted rectangular or mitten-shaped washcloth is ideal for cleaning bathtubs and tiles. In many homes this is its main purpose. The big advantage of this quality is two properties: the washcloth does not rust and is not afraid of any cleaning agents or disinfectants.

A washcloth knitted in combination with another thread. It is advisable to use thread made of synthetic fibers (polyamide, nylon, lavsan). The best results using this technique are “massage mittens” - mittens. It is best to start knitting from the bottom. Having cast on an air chain of 5 loops, we close it in a ring. We continue knitting in single crochets, adding another one in each row evenly after 3 loops. So we knit to the desired width of the mitten. Then we knit to the desired height. You can knit the thumb separately, or you can do without it. For ease of storage, we tie a loop on the side.

Using the same technique, you can knit a regular rectangle and connect it on three sides to get a convenient pocket washcloth. Place a small piece of soap into it when washing.

Of course, there can be many options due to complication: ring knitting, multi-layer knitting, with an additional handle, in combination with fabric. Here everyone is free to do as their imagination and the availability of material for creativity allows.

Knitting washcloths from nets for vegetables with knitting needles

Knitting a washcloth from vegetable nets with knitting needles is most successful in two ways: with very thick knitting needles from vegetable nets alone or in combination with another thread. It should be remembered that it turns out to be much stiffer than a washcloth made from plastic bags. In the first case, the quantity meshes are measured in dozens, so it is used extremely rarely. It remains to add that the thread for knitting this option should be wide (from 10 cm or more). The second option is more common and accessible, for its implementation you will need a dozen or two meshes (it is impossible to say more precisely , since this depends on the size of the vegetable nets). An additional advantage of the second method is the strength of the product. It is advisable to use a synthetic thread as the second thread, then the washcloth will not rot, even when constantly in the humid atmosphere of the bathroom. Polyamide (aka lavsan) is best suited for this , nylon) or polyester thread, which is very often used to process the edges of carpets, rugs, etc. It is best to knit in garter stitch (all stitches are knit), complex patterns with capes and braids in this case lose most of their beauty. So that washcloths made of mesh successful, three conditions must be met:

1.Knit the washcloth crosswise rather than lengthwise. This means that the width of the knitting will be its height, which allows the “creation” to retain its originally intended shape for quite a long time.

2. Make the edges of the product more rigid and prevent them from stretching. This is achieved through partial knitting, which is performed as follows: at the beginning and at the end of the row, two or three loops are knitted only in the front row, in the purl the loop is transferred from one knitting needle to another , thread in front of the loops. Knitting from the edge already after a few rows begins to gather and gradually the central part of the washcloth becomes wider than the edge.

3. It is advisable to make a double washcloth, that is, knit two widths of the product with one fabric. Fold the resulting rectangle in half and carefully sew the edges.
All that remains is to sew on the handles, which are knitted from three loops with a cord of the desired length. It is advisable to make the handles on both sides. You can simply tie two separate cords and sew each of them to the side of the washcloth, or you can connect a single cord into a ring and attach it to the edges. In the second case, the cord should be much longer.
The washcloth is ready.

Sometimes a person doesn’t even notice how often he uses a vegetable net for packing and packaging vegetables. It has one very important advantage over various bags and packages: the hole structure of the mesh fabric allows air to pass through perfectly, which prevents spoilage of vegetables, they retain a fresh appearance for a very long time. If a store stores vegetable goods in nets, then the buyer immediately sees its condition and quality. In addition, the meshes are very light, almost weightless; when weighing goods in the mesh, there is no need to subtract their weight from the result obtained. All of the listed properties of mesh containers are quite sufficient for modern entrepreneurs to think about how to open the production of mesh for vegetables and fruits in Russia. And such a thing is quite accessible even to a novice businessman! It does not require large investments, since the production technology itself is simple, and the amount of raw materials required even for a medium-sized enterprise is very small.

How to start a business?

Almost like any production, the vegetable netting business starts with raw materials, and the raw material for the production of vegetable netting is plastic. Depending on financial capabilities, the entrepreneur chooses the material suitable for him: ready-made HDPE granules or plastic waste. The cost of one kilogram of granules is about 50 rubles, but if you start collecting and processing plastic waste, the raw materials for making nets will be almost an order of magnitude cheaper.

By opening a collection point for plastic waste, an entrepreneur will be able to significantly save both on the cost of raw materials for his production and on its delivery from the manufacturer to his workshop. You just can’t throw off the other side of the scale the worries and various minor problems that will inevitably arise when procuring raw materials from waste. You will need to organize a collection point for raw materials, sort the collected waste, and simply monitor the work of the created additional structure and monitor its activities.

Plastic mesh manufacturing technology

If you open a mini-factory for the production of vegetable mesh and use plastic waste in production, then the technological process, described in its individual stages, looks like this:

  1. Recycling of plastic waste in the form of bottles of various flavors and perfumes, bottle containers and various containers. Then everything is crushed on a machine to a crumb-like state and mixed thoroughly. Dyes are added to the resulting homogeneous mixture.
  2. The formation of a filament type of LDPE occurs in an extruder designed to produce a polymer film. The colored crushed mass is poured into the receiving hopper of the extruder and melted, from which the machine forms a film. First, the resulting film is stretched to the required thickness, and then the resulting tape material is divided into individual threads.
  3. Winding of filament polymer onto bobbins is carried out using a winding machine; it is always located next to the extruder.
  4. From the thread warp, mesh fabric is knitted on a special machine. In a medium format enterprise there can be up to five of these machines. The dimensions of the required canvas are set in advance in the hardware settings. When knitting a continuous mesh sleeve, ties are pre-knitted into its weave.
  5. This is the last stage of the technology, when using special packaging equipment, a continuous woven sleeve is cut into mesh bags for vegetables. The products are then pressed into a compact and dense block of finished product.

Ready-made blocks are convenient for selling vegetable mesh in bulk, since there is no need to recalculate the number of products sold to the customer. After all, the number of meshes in a block is determined by the settings of the packaging machine.

Production premises and equipment

When renting premises for a workshop for knitting nets, you should take into account the power of the equipment that will be used. The lowest-power line for the production of vegetable netting is capable of producing up to three million finished high-quality products in a year of operation. In order to conveniently place it indoors, you will need an area of at least 500 square meters. meters. If you buy equipment for the production of vegetable netting with an annual productivity of up to 20 million pieces, then you will need much more space to accommodate it. The price of equipment of this format will be very high, but if the enterprise operates intensively, the payback period for start-up costs usually does not exceed two years.

This needs to be taken into account! The founder of the enterprise will have to seriously take care of the safety of his production. After all, the material from which the products will be made is highly flammable. The production premises will be repeatedly checked for fire safety. There will also be inspections by construction departments to ensure that the premises and equipment comply with the standards for industrial buildings and structures.

In addition, the workshop must be provided with water supply, since the extruder uses cold water in its work.

The main requirements of inspection organizations include the following parameters of the workshop premises:

  • between the border of the enterprise and the courtyards of residential buildings there must be a protective zone of at least 50 meters;
  • according to the rules for designing floors of industrial buildings, the distance from floor to ceiling must be at least 3.5 meters;
  • there must be active ventilation in the room, and in the absence of such, it is necessary to install opening window sashes, thereby ensuring air exchange between the workshop and the outside environment;
  • the structure of the premises must meet the standards for planning industrial premises.

In workshops where operating machines for the production of vegetable netting are located, GOST fire safety standards established by the supervisory organization must be strictly observed. There should be well-designed emergency exits for personnel, and the evacuation plan, certified by the administration, should be posted in a visible place. In a building equipped with elevators, production areas should be on the ground floor. The floor of the room should be poured with concrete, and ceramic tiles should be laid on top of it. In this way, you can ensure its horizontality and make it non-slippery.

Profit from the production of vegetable nets

Every businessman, even at the stage of planning his own business, is primarily interested in the question of how much monthly profit the business can bring him. The situation is the same in the production of nets for potatoes and other vegetables.

Let us determine what factors determine the economic indicators of this business:

  • costs for all consumables, payments and wages to employees;
  • power of machines used in production;
  • volumes of goods sold per month;
  • product quality and competitive environment.

With a cost of 2.5 rubles, the selling price of a vegetable net is usually at least 3-5 rubles. If a medium-sized enterprise produces at least 250,000 nets per month, then the average monthly income will be about 500,000 rubles. To estimate net profit, you need to subtract from this amount all expenses for the same month of work and tax payments. As a result, net profit should be at least 140,000 rubles per month. With reliable wholesale buyers and a constant expansion of the product range, you can double or triple your net profit. The monthly profit of such an enterprise may well exceed the mark of 500,000 rubles. Of course, if you work hard, analyze and think.

In the kitchen, our man always has two eternal problems: where to put the bag of bags and what to do with the numerous “string bags” for vegetables. We talked about the fight against packages quite recently. Today we’ll show you a useful and simple way to recycle fruit nets. And at the same time, stock up on sponges for washing dishes for a long time.

Eating vegetables and fruits is good, tasty and simply necessary. But confidently accumulating mesh “string bags”, in which useful things are packaged in supermarkets, is somehow not very good. Seriously, are you actually planning on using them for anything? Although, as it turned out, even a rough “mesh” can be used usefully. For example, turn it into a dishwashing sponge that can easily handle even soot and traces of grease!

You will need:
1. Mesh packaging for vegetables and fruits (the more, the better);
2. Scissors;
3. Needle and strong thread;
4. 5 minutes of free time

Step 1

Cut all the meshes into approximately equal pieces. They do not necessarily have to be even and equal. But the brighter and more contrasting the colors, the more fun and prettier the final result. And from the largest “string bag”, cut off the top to make a rectangular bag.

Step 2 and 3

Now place all the small pieces inside the mesh bag. If desired, you can additionally wrap them in another contrasting mesh. This way the sponge will work even better and look prettier. Now it’s a small matter: just sew the edges of the bag with thick thread.

Step 4

An effective “scrub” sponge for your dishes is ready! But if you want variety, you can make another one – round in shape. To do this, simply push the edges of the rectangular version inward and secure with thread.
