Treasure maps in red grandfather. Red Dead Redeption: Additional tasks. Treasure Map Great Expectations #3

Almost any western in one way or another is connected with the famous "gold rush" and the new creation of Rockstar Games was no exception to the rule. In it, players can also go hunting for treasures (pure gold bars). In total, the game features four such activities, each of which is associated with the search for maps, where the location of the treasure is marked. However, to complete the game at 100 percent, it is enough to complete only three hunts.

The fact is that the treasure hunt, called Les Trésor Des Morts, can only be completed by those players who have pre-ordered this game or bought its ultimate edition.

As for the hunt itself, it consists of looking for three clues that will lead you to finding the real map, where the location of the gold is marked. In this guide, we will show you how to find all the treasure maps in Red Dead Redemption 2 and help you solve the puzzles presented in them.

Jack Hall Gang Treasure Map

  • How to start: Wait until chapter 2 starts, and then take on the quest called All That Glitters.
  • Reward: Two gold bars, which you can give to the Stolen Goods Dealer for $1,000.

Starting Map Location: Head to the location marked below (near Flatneck Station) and chat with a guy named Maximo. He will offer you to buy a card from him. You can refuse and then he will reduce its cost to $ 5. After that, get this important piece of paper. However, if you decide to shoot the man or he simply disappears, then later you will be able to purchase this item from any buyer of stolen items.

First Map: It can be found at the foot of the Caliban's Seat mountain. First, climb up the hill, and then find the path that leads down and is on the right. Jump over to the second ledge and find the map in the hole on the rock.

Map Two: Look for her in Cotorra Springs. There are several pyramids built of cobblestones. The item you need is hidden in the middle pyramid, not far from the geysers.

Map Three: Start your search on a small island in the middle of O'Creagh's Run lake, under a large rock. It is here that you will find gold bars, each of which costs $500. You can sell them or give them to your gang members.

Toxic Trail Treasure Map

  • How to start: Wait until chapter 2 starts, then find the starting map to learn the first clue.
  • Reward: Four gold bars, which can be given to a buyer of stolen goods for $2,000.

Starting Map Location: Look in Cairn Lage, a snow-covered area located in the northwestern zone of the game world. The item is in a box hidden under the bed, not far from the door.

First card: Start climbing the hill. Soon you will notice a fallen tree, next to which there will be a small dead tree. Inside the second one is the sheet you need.

Second map: At the top of the mound is a strange construction of stones. In its center you can find a hole, where the next clue lies.

Map Three: Head to the cave behind the waterfall in the Elysian Pool. Pass through the waterfall and take a lantern in your hands, as you cannot do without it in the dungeon. Then jump down from the right side and continue to stick to the right side of the cave. Run along the ledge and reach the tunnel. Enter it and get to an extensive network of tunnels. At the end of one of them lies the treasure. Scroll up to 1:51 in the video above to see the correct path.

Treasure Map Great Expectations

  • How to start: Wait until chapter 3 starts and complete the main quest called "The New South".
  • Reward: three gold bars, which can be given to the merchant stolen for 1.5 thousand dollars.

Starting Map Location: You can get it from a random treasure hunter. These characters are marked on the map with white dots (random encounters). The NPC you want can appear in almost any available area, so keep going through the story and side quests, carefully looking at all random events.

Above, we have indicated all the areas where you can meet a treasure hunter. Look for it during the daytime. As soon as you stumble upon him, immediately tie the brat with a lasso. After that, he will drop the card and you can pick it up. If after three collisions, you still did not manage to get this item, then you can purchase it from the buyers of stolen items.

Map One: Look behind the waterfall in the Cumberland Falls area. You can climb up to the right of the waterfall, passing through a small piece of wood.

Map 2: You can find her in the Barrow Lagoon. To do this, climb the hillock and look for a fallen tree located between a couple of cobblestones. That's where the clue lies.

Third map: Get to Bacchus station, and then go down one side of the mountain to a ledge above the river (that is, first climb the hill that faces the river, and then go down and jump from one platform to another). After a few jumps, you will finally find the treasure lying in the crevice.

Master Botanist
Let's start with the herbarium, since no preliminary steps are required to collect herbs. In addition, the first plant can be found already in the vicinity of MacFarlane's farm. However, in order not to wander in search, it is recommended to buy a botanical map (Survivalist map) at the nearest store. For 20 minutes, the map shows where flowers grow in the current area John's stay Well, anyway, let's start collecting. To start, just pick any flower.

First level: Collect six Wild Feverfew flowers. The flower can be found in the New Austin area (Challa Springs).

Plants come across quite often, and, which is especially pleasing, they often come across along the roads. The task will not be difficult to complete. In addition, flowers appear on the mini-map when John is near them, so don't be lazy to drive off the road in the direction of the flower markers when traveling. This is true for collecting any flowers. As soon as the required number of plants is in John's stock, the game will be automatically saved and the task will be updated (see the current tasks in the journal: Start => Journal => Challenges).

Level 2: Collect six Desert Sage flowers. The plant is found in the Gaptooth Ridge area. Its purple flowers and long stems make it stand out against the backdrop of cacti and native grass, plus you have a mini-map at your disposal.

Level 3: Collect four Red Sage flowers. Rio Bravo growing area. The plant resembles flowers from the previous task. The main difference is in red.

The next flower can only be found in Mexico, so if you haven't completed the story mission "We'll Be Together in Paradise", it's time to storm Fort Mercer. Once you've dealt with the Bill Williamson gang, return to our nerd circle and we'll move on.

Level 4: Collect eight Prickly Pear flowers. The plant resembles a cactus. Make your way to Punta Orgullo, in revolutionary Mexico, and look for small cacti with bright red flowers.

Level 5: Collect seven Wooly Blue Curl flowers. A cute purple flower that grows around Chuparosa.
Congratulations, here's the first bonus: the botanist card is now valid for 40 minutes instead of 20, so it will be easier to collect the rest of the plants.

Level 6: Collect eight Butterfly Weed flowers. It is a plant with pretty bright orange flowers. Grows in the Diez Coronas area.

Level 7: Collect ten Hummingbird Sage flowers. Look for a purple flower in the southern part of the forest near the town, Tall Trees area. Remember that grizzly bears live in the forests there (usually you don’t meet less than three).

Level 8: Collect twelve Prairie Poppies. This plant grows profusely around the Marston ranch (Beecher's hore), along the railroad tracks.

Ninth level: collect fifteen Currant leaves. Fairly tall bushes growing in the Creat Plains area and the same Marston ranch are quite easy to notice.

Tenth level: collect ten Violes Snowdrops plus two flowers (leaves) of all other plants. Look for violets in the northern part of the forest near Mount Nekoti, where bears live, other plants in accordance with the instructions above.

And here it is - the second bonus. John can now mix his own tonic to replenish Dead Eye.

Accurate shooter

Shooting is much more interesting than botany, but it is extremely difficult to become the best shooter in the game. But we'll try anyway, right? As in the case of collecting plants, you can start the shooter's path by shooting the first bird, John will begin his ascent to the title of the most accurate shooter in Red Dead Redemption as of 1911.

First level: shoot five flying birds. Everything is simple here: we see a bird - we shoot.

Second level: shoot five rabbits.

Third level: shoot five coyotes before they damage John. It's a simple matter: open the map, turn on the maximum distance, put a mark in the area where the coyotes are drawn (for example, northwest of MacFarlane's ranch) and go hunting. Coyotes attack in packs, while they impersonate a characteristic howl. Thus , having heard this same howl, prepare a multi-shot gun and shoot the animals right from the saddle.

Fourth level: shoot five birds while on a moving train. It's also an easy task. You can wait for the train at the nearest station. But you can not waste time in vain. If you're the type who prefers to act, open the map, look for the train icon, then plot an interception route. Saddle your horse and ride at full speed to the meeting point. Having caught up with the train, wait for a message like "to jump on the train, press X" and, of course, press the "X" button. John will jump on the train on the move.

Fifth level: kill two different animals with a single activation of the Dead Eye mode. In fact, the task is simple. We drive into the wilderness, looking for larger animals and, more importantly, not very aggressive (although wolves or coyotes are also suitable). Having caught up with a potential victim, look for a bird (a bird can optionally be, for example, a deer and a wolf or something else, think of it yourself). Now turn on Dead Eye, shoot and get the first bonus - a significant increase in the number of cartridges stored in John's chests.

Sixth level: knock off the hats of two people with the Dead Eye mode. Luckily, knocking off both hats at once is not required. The easiest way is to look for Mexicans, as they love to wear wide-brimmed sombreros. You are almost guaranteed to knock off hats and not shoot the poor fellows in the head. But if you are not looking for easy ways, you can complete this task long before John gets to the other side of the river. The main thing is not to fuss, and to choose more or less motionless targets. Although, having adapted, you can knock off hats from galloping horsemen.

Level 7: Kill three grizzly bears with one shot. The best and easiest option is the Buffalo rifle. The algorithm is as follows: find the first bear (in the forest north of the city of Blackwater). To be sure, turn on Dead Eye and put a bullet exactly in the forehead of the beast. If the bear did not fall, the attempt failed: finish off the predator and wait for its relatives, since the bears live here in threes. If the bear is killed by the first shot, carefully look around - two more are somewhere nearby. Repeat the same steps and get a new level.

Level 8: Knock off hats and knock weapons out of the hands of two people. Thank God, doing all these tricks at the same time is not required. You can knock off the hat from one, then from the other, then disarm the third, and then knock off the hat and knock the weapon out of the hands of the fourth - your choice. You already know how to shoot through hats, with knocking out weapons the situation is a little more tricky, although the algorithm is about the same. Remember that you should shoot exclusively at weapons - any, even non-lethal, hit on the poor fellow means failure and the search for a new target. To be sure, turn on Dead Eye.

Ninth level: shoot six wild animals without changing or reloading weapons. It sounds a little confusing, but the task is actually quite simple. Equip a repeating rifle, turn on the Dead Eye and complete the task. Another option is the “Ruin” story mission, where you need to shoot many, many crows in a certain time.

Level 10: Disarm six enemies without changing or reloading weapons. Hard case. The easiest way to complete the task, armed with an Evans repeating rifle, the magazine of which holds 21 rounds.

The second bonus is a significantly increased Dead Eye replenishment rate. Now let's hunt - this is also a very fun and exciting entertainment.

Hunting, as you might guess, involves killing animals and collecting trophies from their carcasses and carcasses. To start the difficult path of a hunter, it is enough to kill some wild animal and skin it.

First level: kill and skin five coyotes. Without fanfare: we are looking for a flock of coyotes, we kill and remove their skins.

Second level: kill and skin five female deer. Females, we recall, are hornless.

Third level: kill five wolves with a knife, collect five wolf skins. We open the map, look for the image of a wolf, put a marker, move forward. Hearing a wolf roar, we dismount, prepare a knife and remember that in aiming mode, John can avoid attacks by rolling. Now we aim the first wolf and with two blows of the knife we calm down the gray predator. Repeat with the rest of the flock. When all the wolves are dead, take turns removing their skins. If two stabs in a row have not yet worked out for you, animals can be wounded from, for example, a pistol, and then finish the job with melee weapons.

Fourth level: collect five boar fangs and three armadillo shells. Boars live north of MacFarlane's ranch, armadillos - in the central part of Challa Springs. It is better to meet boars with a doublet from a shotgun, but shoot armadillos with pistols, otherwise you will not see the shell.

Fifth level: kill two cougars with a knife, collect two cougar skins. Now that's an adventure! Puma is a dangerous opponent, even if you are armed with firearms. However, you can deal with it with a knife. The secret is simple: do not let the beast out of your sight, move away from its swift attacks, and then cut. If you feel strong in yourself, cut the cougar in the opposite direction: here it rushes at John, here John meets the jump with a knife blow. Two or three hits and it's done. Do not forget to remove the skin from the killed animal. It is better to hunt wild cats during the day, because at night you often do not notice where the beast comes from and attacks. As a rule, cougars hunt in pairs, so just in case, look around: two such dangerous and dexterous animals against a knife are already too much. As with wolves, before engaging cougars in a knife fight, you can first wound them with a rifle. Look for cougars north of MacFarlane's Ranch.

Level 6: Collect five raccoon skins, five fox skins, and five skunk skins. All these wonderful animals are found in abundance north of MacFarlane's ranch, but they leave their burrows and lairs only at night. Thus, wait until evening at the ranch and drive north. It is better to shoot with a pistol so as not to damage the skins.

Level 7: Collect five pieces of female deer meat and five bighorn hides. With deer, everything is clear - they are found in the forests north of Blackwater. Bighorns are a type of mountain goat. They are found in the northern part of all the same forests.

Level 8: Kill a grizzly bear with a knife. An even more dangerous undertaking than fighting two cougars at once. You can defeat the bear either by first shooting it, or by tricking it: wait for the bear attack, roll back and stab the beast in the back. Such a maneuver requires a certain amount of dexterity, but good old Dead Eye is on your side. We remind you that bears rarely hunt alone: just in case, wait for two more predators to visit.

Ninth level: kill the legendary jaguar named Khan and skin it. Khan resides in the Ojo Del area. To lure the beast, John will need bait, which is sold in any store. With the bait in your inventory, go to Ojo Del DiabLo and lay the bait - Khan will not keep you waiting long. Kill the beast in any convenient way and don't forget to skin it.

Tenth level: kill and skin the legendary wolf named Lobo, the no less legendary boar named Gordo and the completely legendary bear named Brumas. The Lobo wolf hunts in the Aurora Basin area, Gordo the boar grazes in the Stillwater Creek area (near the city of Thieves Landing), Brumas the bear has a den somewhere at the foot of Nekoti Mountain. We take baits, look for prey, kill them in any convenient way and do not forget to skin them.

As a reward for completing all hunting tasks, John will receive the ability to cook nutritious pieces from the meat of slain animals that restore health. Now let's look for treasures.

The game Red Dead Redemption 2 gives the player the opportunity to try on the role of a treasure hunter!

Before you start the game, you need to consider important points:

1. The search for all treasures follows the same principle. Starting the mission to find the treasure, the player needs to solve three puzzles replacing each other (search for a specific place according to the drawing on the map). In this case, the first card leads to the second, and that, in turn, to the third (last). And already with the help of it, it will be possible to find what you are looking for.

2. Complete completion of the "Explorer" challenge (an important condition for 100% completion of the game), requires the completion of three of the four "Treasure Hunter" missions.

3. The mission "Treasure of the Dead" is available only to owners of a digital copy of Red Dead Redemption 2 or a special / ultimate edition of the game. Otherwise, you will have to limit yourself to finding three standard treasures. This is enough to complete the "Explorer" mission.

There are two types of treasure maps in Red Dead Redemption 2.

Main cards (required to complete the mission "Explorer"):

  1. Treasures of the Jack Hall Gang. The reward is $1,000;
  2. Treasures of the Poison Trail. $2,000 award;
  3. Treasures "Great Expectations". $1,500 award;
  4. Treasures of the Dead. $2500 award.

Additional cards:

  1. Treasures from a torn (restored) map. The reward is Otis Miller's revolver, and in addition 5 photos of an erotic nature;
  2. Treasures of Chika. Reward $35;
  3. Assassin Treasure. Related to the secret side mission "American Dreams". $20 reward.

Jack Hall Gang Treasure Map

No. 1. Jack Hall's Gang Treasure Map can only be obtained after the full completion of the first chapter. It serves as part of a side quest called All That Glitters.

The mission can be started in this way. You need to find a stranger west of Flatneck Station. He will call himself Maximo Cristobal Valdespino and sell a $10 treasure map. It is necessary to refuse the purchase, however, only once! When the seller lowers the price to $5, you can safely buy. In the event that Maximo is killed or leaves, the card can be purchased by contacting any fence.

Walkthrough:

- You need to go to the mountain "Place of Caliban", find a passage that leads to the bottom. Then, having passed along a narrow ledge, jump over to the second platform, and after going to the end, pick up a map and a necklace of pearls in the rock.

- Going to a small island, which is located on the lake "O'Krieg's Run", you can find two gold bars worth $ 1,000. They can be purchased by a fence or donated to the camp.

Poison Trail Treasure Map

No. 2. Poison Trail Treasure Map. It can also be obtained with the passage of the first chapter.

The mission can be started in this way. The first clue is in Kern Lodge. You will have to get to the snowy region, which is in the north-west of the game world. You will have to participate in a shootout with a gang of bandits. Therefore, it is necessary to prepare. Having won the battle, you need to go to the leader's house. We open the safe, which is near the bed and find the first card with a puzzle.

Walkthrough:

– The next clue is in the broken tree.

- Climbing to the top of the hill, you can see an oval of stones. In its center is a recess in which lies the second puzzle.

– To find the treasure itself, you will have to work a little. First you need to go to the "Champs Elysees" and find a secret cave near the waterfall. A lamp will help in the dark (you can get it by opening the weapon wheel, select a knife and switch to a lantern).

Entering the cave, you must constantly go on the right side, near the wall. Falling down into the cleft, no need to be afraid. The path goes all the time on the right side to a small hole. After moving along it, you can get into the hidden part of the cave. Turn right to two aisles. The correct one is the left one.

At the very end, a ledge will appear. Turning to the left, you need to run up and jump forward (you need to be very careful, as there is a chance of falling down). Having managed to jump over, the player will fall into a small cave with a floor filled with water.

On the left side you can find a ledge. Climbing on which you can see the scattered stones. The purpose of the search among them is in the form of four gold bars.

Treasure Map "Great Expectations"

No. 3. Treasure map "Great Expectations". It can be obtained only after passing the second chapter, by completing the mission "New South".

The mission can be started in this way. Of all the treasure hunt missions, this one is the hardest. The problem is that the card must be taken from a stranger who appears randomly in the territory of eight locations.

To find it, you need to constantly make a detour of all these locations. Moreover, it can be detected both in daylight and in the dark. Therefore, the player needs to be patient and go to let.

When a wanted person is nearby, the mini-map will highlight a white dot. It is necessary to sneak up on a stranger, lasso him and tie him up. This is the only way to get the card he threw with the first puzzle.

In this case, it is necessary to act as carefully as possible, because if the player is noticed, the stranger will run away and not throw the card. Then you have to wait a few game days and start the search again. In the event that it was not possible to capture a stranger suddenly three times in a row, the card can be bought from a fence.

Walkthrough:

– The second puzzle map is behind the Cumberland Falls. You can reach the secret place with the help of a log.

“We need to find the mountain near Bacchus Station.” On it, you need to descend with the utmost care along the ledges and platforms to the hidden treasure.

Treasure Map "Treasure of the Dead"

No. 4. Treasure Map "Treasure of the Dead"

Location:

“We need to find the burned village. One of the buildings will be a prison, untouched by fire. The map is by the corpse in the building.

- It is required to find an underpass at the Saint-Denis railway station. The map is hidden in the wall near the wooden box.

- The treasure is in a small building in the cemetery in Saint-Denis.

Torn (restored) treasure map

No. 5. A torn (restored) treasure map can be obtained after the completion of the first chapter, subject to the end of the main line of story events.

Walkthrough:

- Upon reaching the northwestern edge of the game world, you can find the hermit's house. He will not be friendly, having lowered the dogs on the player and started firing from a weapon. Therefore, you need to be ready to shoot to kill. After neutralizing the enemies, you need to go into the house. In the table by the bed is the first part of the map.

- Further search leads to the upper right corner of the game world; to the dwelling of another unfriendly hermit. He will also have to fight. The second piece of the puzzle, lying in the kitchen table, will serve as a reward.
