Kns sewage pumping stations. How does a sewage pumping station work? Production of complete and fully prefabricated sewage pumping stations in housings made of durable reinforced fiberglass

It is the pump station made of plastic that allows you to pump wastewater to places where it is purified and processed. In addition, the KNS sewerage station eliminates the need to lay gravity sewers at a fairly large depth.

When choosing a sewage pumping station, you must be guided by the following parameters: the volume and type of liquid that flows through the collector, the type of pumps and the way they operate, as well as the hydrogeological conditions of the area.

If we take into account the liquid that the station can pump, it can be divided into the following types:

  • Domestic waste;
  • Storm drains;
  • Industrial effluents.

The cost of sewage pumping stations made of polyethylene includes the following equipment:

  • KNS building
  • KNS cover
  • Service area
  • Sewage basket with guides and chains
  • Cable channel for powering pumps
  • Metal staircase
  • Ventilation tube

The design of pump stations is a cylindrical body made of thick-walled polyethylene pipe (diameter from 1000 mm to 2400 mm, with wall thickness from 60 to 160 mm). To simplify maintenance, the SPS design is equipped with an operating platform and a ladder. When using the station in harsh climates, a heated block container is installed, which is mounted above the station and facilitates the maintenance of automation and shut-off valves.

But for the manufacture of plastic parts of the pumping station, special low-density polyethylene (HDPE) is used. After all, HDPE is much more durable than other types of polyethylene. The combination of all of the above parameters ensures a significant service life and ease of maintenance for pumping stations, for example, the tank lasts for more than 50 years, and the units for more than 15 years. The above facts once again prove the simplicity and reliability of sewage pumping stations from the PLAST|PRODUCT company.

Production of complete and fully prefabricated sewage pumping stations in housings made of durable reinforced fiberglass

SPS is a complex of hydraulic structures and sewerage equipment designed for lifting and pumping waste, fecal, industrial, ground and other waters.

new!

Sewage pumping stations are installed for the purpose of pumping domestic wastewater. The design of the pumping station may differ slightly, but the general appearance of the pumping stations is similar. This is a hermetically sealed container into which wastewater is drained by gravity. A fecal pump is additionally connected to it, through which wastewater is pumped to another pumping station or to a place for biological water treatment. A modern CNS station operates completely autonomously.

The equipment is supplied complete, so the installation process is greatly simplified.

The price of a pump pump, as well as the choice of its size and technical parameters of pumping equipment depend on:

  • volume of pumped wastewater;
  • their lifting heights;
  • diameter and length of the pressure sector;
  • depth of placement of the supply sector.

Production of pumping stations

The FloTenk company produces SOPs using the machine winding method, which can be radial or cross. In addition, distinctive features include the presence of an insulated hatch, an internal pressure pipeline with control valves, a spherical bottom, a fiberglass ladder and a folding platform for servicing the station. In other words, you can order a complete high-quality pump station from our company.

Advantageous features of CNS

  • Significant space savings for placing a pumping station. There is no need to order reinforced concrete containers with ventilation. Compared to old 12-meter structures, modern pumping stations are manufactured with a diameter of 1.5 meters.
  • An excellent energy saving option. When operating such a pumping station, a constant pressure is ensured, while energy consumption is reduced several times.
  • Maintenance of a pumping station does not require much expenditure, and this concerns not only money, but also effort. In emergency situations, the dispatcher immediately receives a signal. The cost of CNS is quite reasonable, so you can save on this parameter.

How does CNS work?

First, the effluent through the pipeline from the septic tank enters the lower compartment of the station. When the pumping station is operating, the valves on the pipeline remain open. Each pipe has its own check valve, which prevents waste from entering the pump again.

The operation of the pumping station is carried out without releasing unpleasant odors into the environment. This feature is ensured by the presence of a hermetically sealed hatch. This structural element is located at the top of the pumping station. Some equipment models are equipped with ventilation pipes to ensure air exchange.

The SPS is controlled using float sensors. If they are triggered, the corresponding LEDs on the automatic control panel light up. Some equipment models provide for notification of the dispatcher via a phone call or SMS.

All KNS pumping stations are equipped with an electronic control panel, which is located in the technical room or on metal stands located on the surface.

Design of pump station

When ordering sewage pumping stations of a certain type and quantity, you need to familiarize yourself with the features of the site’s landscape. You also need to answer performance questions:

  • in what mode the equipment should operate;
  • what volume and type of wastewater will be pumped.

An important parameter is the performance of the pumping station and the availability of additional equipment to improve the quality of service of the unit.

SPS for domestic wastewater must be selected very carefully, since incorrect selection of pumping units affects the reduction in the operating life and productivity of SPS.

Complete sewer pumping stations can be equipped with the following elements:

  • float switch that automatically operates when the container is filled or emptied;
  • pumps with automatic redundant activation, in this case the operator receives a corresponding signal;
  • working and spare pumps, which are activated by separate float switches. If one pump fails, the backup unit is automatically activated.

Sewage pumping stations (SPS) are also equipped with devices that record water consumption.

Operation of pumping stations (PS)

It is important that the KNS sewerage station is installed correctly, since its service life depends on this. Flotenk specialists will help not only design an underground structure, but also install it taking into account all requirements and rules.

Installation of pumping equipment is carried out only according to the strict recommendations of the manufacturer, therefore, when working independently, it is important to act in accordance with the installation manual.

If there is a need to install a good sewerage station, then it is recommended to buy it at the KNS production facility in the Flotenk company, which guarantees the high quality of its products. In addition, it is possible to separately purchase pumps for pumping stations for a particular station model.

These sewage pumping stations are equipped with sewage pumps

Pumping stations for wastewater disposal systems are a whole complex of equipment and structures that ensure the removal of sewage from industrial enterprises, residential private houses and small settlements. A sewage pumping station is installed if it is impossible to ensure the discharge of wastewater by gravity. Its tasks include pumping liquid to treatment facilities.

Schematically, the pumping station looks like a receiving tank with an engine room in which pumps are installed. The presence of pumping stations on gravity sewers eliminates the need for deep laying of sewer pipes and sewer wells.

Types and types of sewage pumping stations

Based on their location, the CNS is divided into:

  • The main ones, intended for pumping sewage water from the territory of an industrial enterprise or populated area.
  • Regional, providing drainage of wastewater to treatment facilities or to the nearest collector in a certain part of an industrial or residential area.

According to its location, the sewerage pumping station can be:

  • buried
  • ground
  • partially buried

Depending on the nature of equipment control, CNS are divided into three types:

  • Remote - control and regulation of their work occurs from a remote control center.
  • Automatic - control is carried out by instruments and devices, the operation of which is automated when the water level rises above a certain level.

In the event of a possible accident or breakdown of the main pump, provision is made for switching on backup equipment.

  • With manual control - any operations are performed by maintenance personnel.

NSK DAB FEKAFOS

Based on the type of wastewater being pumped, sewage pumping stations are divided into four groups:

  1. SPS for domestic wastewater. They are installed on collectors that drain wastewater from residential and public buildings.
  2. SPS for industrial wastewater. They are subject to certain requirements depending on the composition of the pumped liquid. Some structures and equipment require periodic washing and protection from aggressive environments.
  3. SPS for stormwater networks. They are installed if rainwater cannot be drained by gravity. This often happens on terrain.
  4. KNS for precipitation. Such stations are part of structures designed for wastewater treatment and sludge treatment.

The presence of all stations in one scheme is not at all necessary. It all depends on the throughput of the pipelines, the terrain and the possibility of draining sewer water by gravity.

Purpose

Sewage stations must ensure the lifting of wastewater to less buried sewers and treatment facilities. At the same time, they provide the necessary pressure and supply of wastewater in accordance with the schedule provided for normal operating conditions and for an emergency situation.

Such stations must meet the following requirements:

  • reliability and uninterrupted operation
  • durability
  • ease of repair and maintenance
  • possibility of using automation and telemechanics

Features of design and construction

It is important to consider all factors when designing a sewer system

When calculating and designing sewer stations, many factors are taken into account:

  • depth of the supply manifold
  • regularity and volume of wastewater
  • ground water level
  • type of installed equipment
  • method of controlling pumps and valves

The dimensions of the structure should not exceed established norms and standards. In addition, excesses in architectural design and auxiliary equipment are not allowed.

Important! You should be aware of the possibility of flooding in the surrounding area and take action in case the sewer station is flooded.

The pumping station is designed with the expectation that the amount of wastewater can increase. After all, the drainage load will increase with the expansion of the populated area or with an increase in production volumes.

It is advisable to carry out construction work in a short time, but not at the expense of quality, making maximum use of mechanization and modern construction equipment.

Accommodation

Stations should not be located closer than 20 meters from residential buildings

The best option for locating a pumping station is a free area near industrial enterprises and warehouses (except for food), as well as green areas or vacant lots. In built-up areas they are installed deep in the blocks. In this case, emergency descents into the nearest stormwater network must be arranged.

According to sanitary standards, stations should not be located closer than 20 meters from residential, administrative and public buildings. If the distance cannot be maintained, it can be reduced only after agreement with the sanitary and epidemiological authorities.

Sewage pumping stations are installed if the supply collector lies at a depth of 4-8 meters, which depends on the type of soil. Along the perimeter of the KNS there are green spaces at least 10 meters wide.

If a pumping station is located in an area of flooding, it is installed in such a way that the entrance mark is half a meter above the calculated horizon of possible rise of flood waters.

Design

Pump design

Sewage pumping stations may vary in design. They have a sealed container - a receiving tank for wastewater, where it flows by gravity. Sump stations are also equipped with special grids for collecting large waste that can damage the pump or clog the pipeline.

The most common are mine-type pumping stations. They are made of concrete or prefabricated reinforced concrete structures. Modern stations are made of polypropylene or fiberglass. Submersible pumps, pipelines and fittings are installed inside the tank, platforms and ladders are installed for servicing the pumping station; the sewer system also includes ventilation and a hermetically sealed hatch, which guarantees the absence of unpleasant odors.

The engine room can be combined with a waste tank or located separately, which is preferable.

Modern pumping stations

Sewage station Aquatica

Universal KNS are made from high quality polypropylene, steel or fiberglass according to individual or standard projects. They are intended for both detached buildings and cottage villages or small industrial enterprises.

Modern sewage stations are round, cylindrical or rectangular containers in horizontal or vertical design. Some models have two compartments - receiving and machine. The receiving chamber has a special basket for dirt, which can be removed if necessary. The engine compartment contains pumping equipment with gate valves and check valves. There is a control panel next to the sewer station.

On the market you can find other designs of pumping stations that consist of a single reservoir. It contains all the necessary equipment and sewage pumps. They take up much less space, and this is their advantage.

Installation of sewerage structures is very simple. They are placed on a leveled horizontal surface or concrete platform, and then connected to the outlet and inlet pipelines.

Features of modern pumping stations

Fiberglass pump station with Grundfos pumps

Universal KNS are the best solution for:

  • Private buildings with low depth of drain pipes for subsequent discharge of wastewater into a centralized sewer system.
  • Collection of storm water from the drainage system and its further pumping from private territory.
  • Cottage communities where it is necessary to pump sewage liquids over long distances.
  • Various objects with basements from which it is necessary to raise drains to a height.

Important! Modern pumping stations can be installed either on a new sewer system or on an existing one.

They are economical, sealed, durable and easy to install, have a relatively small size and do not require the constant presence of maintenance personnel.

The smallest KNS are intended for domestic purposes. These are sealed containers that can be connected directly to the toilet. They do not spoil the bathroom with their appearance, as they are made in the appropriate design style. Such stations are equipped with small fecal pumps equipped with a cutting mechanism. It avoids the winding of fibrous inclusions and subsequent jamming of the impeller. Such “babies” are capable of pumping out wastewater coming from two bathrooms and raising them to a height of up to 5 meters.

Mini station

Modern CNS have a number of advantages:

  • compactness
  • environmental Safety
  • energy savings compared to large stations
  • quiet operation
  • low vibration
  • attracting a small number of workers to service the automation
  • use in different climatic zones
  • ease of installation and dismantling
  • saving usable space

Conclusion

Installing several modern local pumping stations is preferable and safer from an environmental point of view. If one centralized sewage pumping station fails, it can lead to an emergency with the discharge of wastewater to the surface and leave an entire neighborhood or even a settlement without a drainage system.

In situations where it is impossible to ensure the required slope of the sewer pipe, the gravity drainage scheme does not work. In these cases, a sewage pumping station is indispensable, ensuring unhindered outflow and recycling of waste.

There are two types of units: mini-stations and full-functional complexes for home maintenance. Let’s figure out which option is better to give preference to, what characteristics should be taken into account when choosing. In addition, we will describe step-by-step installation technology and operating rules for the sewer station.

A sewage pumping station (SPS) is an integral complex of hydraulic equipment, which is designed for pumping storm water, industrial and domestic wastewater when their gravity discharge is impossible.

Pumping stations can have an additional horizontal cavity to distribute sludge over a larger area, which allows for less sludge removal

CNS is used mainly in the following cases:

  1. The geodetic level of the tanks and pipelines from which wastewater is discharged is located below the sewer or cesspool.
  2. Lack of physical ability to organize a straight-line gravity drainage of wastewater or a small one that threatens its regular clogging.
  3. The cesspool or central collector is located far from the source of wastewater.

Cottage villages, country houses, as well as industrial facilities located far outside the city and remote from the centralized sewer network are equipped with sewage pumping stations.

Classification of sewer stations

The sizes of domestic sewage pumping stations can be very different. They can fit directly behind the toilet and immediately pump wastewater from it in the required direction, or they can take the form of horizontal tanks with a volume of tens of cubic meters dug into the ground.

But it’s not just the size of the CNS that differs. Below are classifications of pumping stations for sewerage according to various parameters.

By installation type:

  1. Vertical.
  2. Horizontal.
  3. With self-priming pumps.

The last type of pumping station involves the forced pumping of wastewater into the station body and its removal from it after treatment.

What are sewage pumping stations for households, and why is there a need to install them? These are complexes of equipment and tanks for pumping waste water and sewage. The need for them arises when, for a number of reasons, the liquid cannot be transported to the storage tank by gravity. Every owner of suburban real estate will need information regarding the main design features of water pumping stations, their varieties, operating and maintenance rules.

Structural features of pump station

When choosing a sewage pumping station for a private home, such as in the photo, the volume of wastewater, the size of the structure, the degree of sewage contamination and the type of pollution are certainly taken into account. The peculiarities of the topography in the area where the pumping station is to be installed and the depth at which the drainage pipeline is laid are also taken into account.

To build such a structure, you will need a design and calculation of a sewage pumping station made by a specialist.

Depending on the purpose, the design of the pumping station may differ significantly, but all models always have pumps and sealed tanks. Typically, wastewater is moved into a tank by gravity, and then sewer pumping units are used to transport liquid sewage to a treatment plant or disposal site.
Manufacturers of KNS produce mini structures that are connected to a plumbing fixture. They are small-volume sealed containers with an aesthetic design. They have built-in pumps with a cutting mechanism. This station is most often installed in the bathroom.

Capacity for pump station- This is a polymer sealed tank dug into the ground. In order to facilitate maintenance, inspection and repair of the station, the neck of the tank is brought to the surface. It is covered with a steel or polymer lid on top.
Inside the container there is a pipeline connected through pipes located in the walls. The uniform flow of wastewater is ensured by the presence of a baffle, and there are no turbulences in the liquid flow, thanks to a special water wall.

A household sewage pumping station, regardless of its model, always includes 1-2 pumps. When equipment is intended to drain wastewater from public utilities, it is necessary that the number of pumps be at least two. Different types of stations use different types of pumping equipment.
For household SPS models, it is advisable to use pumps equipped with a cutting mechanism. They are not recommended for use in municipal installations, since solid waste entering the sewer system causes failure of the cutting mechanism.

Requirements for such stations, features of their installation and arrangement of sanitary zones, the required number of pipelines are determined in accordance with SNiP 2.04.01-85.

Operating principle of a sewage pumping station

Regardless of what type the KNS sewage pumping station is, the principle of its operation is no different for all models. The waste drains into the receiving part and does not seep into the ground due to the presence of a dense gasket. Then the liquid under pressure is forcibly pumped into the pipeline using pumps.

Then the waste water enters the distribution chamber, and from there it is transported through pipes to the treatment plant. To prevent waste from flowing back, there is a check valve in the pipeline. In the case when the volume of wastewater increases significantly, an additional pump comes into operation. When the pumping equipment is unable to cope with the transport of water, an alarm is triggered.

The sewage pumping station operates automatically. The presence of float sensors located at several levels helps to control the level of incoming wastewater.

Thanks to these devices, the station operates in the following modes:

  • sensors at the first level reflect a small volume of incoming liquid, and the pumps are turned off in this case;
  • sensors on the second level, with a normal amount of waste, turn on the pump to pump waste that has already collected;
  • sensors on the third level are triggered if the volume of liquid increases, and a backup pump is started to pump out excess water;
  • sensors on the fourth level trigger an alarm when the devices cannot cope with the amount of drainage being pumped out. In such an emergency situation, the team of craftsmen servicing the structure should take the necessary measures to normalize its functioning. In order to simplify equipment repairs, the KNS sewage pumping station is always equipped with a hatch and a ladder.
After pumping of wastewater is completed, the liquid level drops and is located below the first of the sensors and the equipment turns off. During the next switch-on, another pump, which was previously additional, comes into operation. This operating procedure allows you to prevent premature wear of one pump.

The pumping station is equipped with the following additional devices and instruments:

  • pressure sensors, shut-off valves, pressure gauges;
  • source of backup power supply;
  • a metal pavilion, which is needed to ensure the safety of the elements and the safety of the entire system;
  • equipment for connecting pipes and pumps.
The CNS can operate not only automatically, but, if necessary, in manual mode. For example, when repairing a station or cleaning a tank.

Types of pumps for household pumping station

Sewage pumps for pumping stations are their main part. They are needed for pumping domestic wastewater, storm precipitation, sludge, and industrial waste.

When a sewage pumping station is built, a typical project involves the use of pumps that come in the following types:

  • submersible;
  • self-priming;
  • console
Submersible pumping equipment is a pressure-type device that is constantly immersed. For its manufacture, materials that are resistant to aggressive environments are used.

Such devices are convenient to use because:

  • take up little space, as they are constantly immersed in a liquid medium;
  • they do not require preparing a separate site and installing additional pipe junctions.
Advantages of submersible pumps:
  • ease of operation;
  • reliability;
  • efficient operation even at low temperatures;
  • infrequent maintenance;
  • cooling by flowing liquid;
  • versatility (they can also be used for dry installation).
Self-priming sewage pumps dry installations are used at industrial and municipal stations for pumping very polluted wastewater.

This equipment is characterized by convenient use and maintenance due to the presence of a flange-mounted electric motor. This type of pump does not clog because it has a spacious passage in the impeller and pipe.

Advantages of self-priming pumps:

  • the devices are easy to maintain because they have a retractable design;
  • devices are not subject to clogging;
  • operate at sub-zero temperatures if a heating element is installed;
  • easy to dismantle;
  • as tight as possible;
  • pump wastewater with solid fractions.

Dry mounted cantilever pumps Most often used in large industrial stations. Such devices are not installed in modular structures. Before their installation, a separate foundation is prepared and pipes are installed.

It is advisable that the cantilever pump be commissioned by specialists. This equipment is open, so access to it is easy, which simplifies repair work.

Cantilever transfer pumps have the following advantages:

  • convenient and easy access to pumping equipment elements;
  • easy maintenance;
  • reliability;
  • the ability to change performance through the correct selection of components of the structure.

Installation and maintenance

For a sewage pumping station to work effectively, the project must be developed by specialists. The design documentation indicates the depth of the pit, which should be calculated so that the tank lid is located one meter above the ground surface. A one and a half meter sand cushion is placed under the bottom of the sealed container.

Then a tank is placed in the pit, pipes are connected, then the hole is filled with sand and compacted layer by layer. The pumps are installed in place and the movement of the floats is adjusted. The elements of the first level are located 15-30 centimeters above the bottom of the container. Subsequent sensors should be 1.5 meters higher than the previous floats.

Then they begin to install and connect the power supply, electrical cables, and make grounding in accordance with SP 31-110-2003.

Maintenance of the pumping station is performed in a certain order:

  • carry out a visual inspection of pumps, shut-off valves, and check the indicators on the control panel. If there is information about a malfunction in the pump, it is removed, checked, and washed;
  • To clean the station body and pump, use clean water from a hose and brushes, without using detergents;
  • when installing the units in place, they must be secured to an automatic pipe coupling;
  • check the condition of the large debris catcher and clean it if necessary;
  • replace worn parts, tighten fasteners using wrenches.
