In tribute to Stephen Hawking, EVE Online pilots are lighting beacons. Paying tribute to the memory Gala reception in the Legislative Assembly

Activists of the Sverdlovsk regional branch of the public movement “Family, Love, Fatherland”, scientists and cultural figures, the public of Yekaterinburg took part in the round table meeting “70 years of the Great Victory: historical truth”, which took place at URGEU-SINH. Its initiators were the Eurasian Human Research Institute, headed by Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences V.A. Chereshnev. and rector of USUE - SINKh Fedorov M.V. - presenters of the round table.

During the meeting, they talked about the spiritual and moral potential, the feat of our people, thanks to which the Great Victory was won. The round table participants also discussed the experience of planned management of the national economy in a war economy, methods of working with young people, to whom it is necessary to convey the truth about the Great Patriotic War.

The Urals during the war years, a historical assessment of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War; science, culture, medicine and education; patriotic education of the younger generation. These and other topics were highlighted in their speeches by the participants of the round table: Chairman of the Public Chamber of the Sverdlovsk Region of the Russian Federation Naboichenko S.S., Honorary Citizen of the city Spektor S.I., Director of the “Word Theatre” Voronina T.N. and other speakers.

The author of these lines made a report “Youth during the War,” noting the enormous role in the Victory of our young men and women, who, at the call of the Komsomol Central Committee, mostly volunteered to fight on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War. The famous Soviet commander Georgy Konstantinovich Zhukov spoke with extraordinary warmth about the heroism and courage of young soldiers: “I have seen many times how soldiers rose to attack. It is not easy to rise to your height when the air is permeated with deadly metal. But they rose! But many of them barely knew the taste of life: 19-20 years old is the best age for a person - everything is ahead! And for them very often there was only a German dugout ahead, spewing machine-gun fire! We also won because there were those at the guns, in the tanks, on the planes whose energy and unquenchable desire for heroism in the name of saving the Motherland worked miracles. During the war years, 7 thousand students of the Youth Union became Heroes of the Soviet Union, 60 Komsomol members were awarded this title twice. 9 million young men and women who joined the Komsomol during the war made an invaluable contribution to the achievement of Victory with their military and labor feats.

The war with Nazi Germany, when young and old alike rose to defend the Motherland, showed the whole world the unprecedented fortitude and courage of our warrior. The exploits of Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya, Lisa Chaikina, Alexander Matrosov, Yuri Smirnov, Nikolai Kuznetsov and many thousands of others will forever go down in Russian history. The Great Patriotic War demonstrated an unprecedented rise in the self-awareness of the citizens of our country, who worked in the rear and provided the front with everything necessary. Patriotism and friendship of the peoples of a multinational country were an important factor in achieving victory over fascism.

And, although today attempts are being made to denigrate Russia, to spread cynical lies about the war and Russia’s role in it, we must understand that such demarches, as President V.V. Putin noted, have a specific political goal. And this goal is clear - to undermine the strength and moral authority of modern Russia, to deprive it of its status as a victorious country with all the ensuing international legal consequences, to divide and antagonize peoples. Vladimir Vladimirovich rightly believes that preparations for the anniversary are not only festive events, but also a huge educational and informational work not only at the national but also at the international levels. Therefore, the head of state set the Parade organizing committee, which is preparing for the holiday, with the task of adequately responding to attempts to distort the truth about the war: “The task of the organizing committee in each region of the Russian Federation is to, based on the active participation and support of citizens, adequately respond to these challenges. It is important to use every opportunity to tell about the history of the Fatherland, about the military and labor exploits of our ancestors.” Moreover, this must be done not only before the celebration of Victory Day, but also after it, i.e. do this constantly.

What is this truth and why does it need to be told? First of all, so that new generations who grew up after the war understand what a huge price we paid for the Victory, so that they know about the feat of our people and keep it in their memory, passing this memory on to their children and grandchildren. To forget about this, or to review the results of the war, casting a shadow on our command, the leadership of the country, looking for negative aspects - this means betraying the memory of the defenders of the Motherland, and even moreover, betraying our people, thanks to whose victory over the fascist invaders we already live 70 years under a peaceful sky and engaged in creative work.

History teacher Valery Ivanov believes that the history teacher today bears a great responsibility: will the younger generation know the truth about the war. And therefore, I will add on my own behalf, the teacher (teacher) himself must have not only knowledge, but also be a patriot of his Fatherland.

To convey the truth about the Great Patriotic War means to tell that the war against Nazism was the most difficult war in the history of our Motherland. It became a severe test of the viability of the Soviet Union, the Great Patriotic War of the peoples of the USSR for their freedom and independence. Precisely - the Great Patriotic War. This assessment of the war, according to the teacher, should be especially emphasized, since recently in some circles efforts have been made to prove the opposite. The collapse of communist ideology and ideals was also reflected in the study of the history of the Great Patriotic War and the attitude towards its heroes. However, facts are stubborn things. And they are reflected in many fiction and documentary publications.

Hundreds of articles, essays, and books have been published about the heroes of the Great Patriotic War. Appeal to their exploits is a continuation of the centuries-old tradition of Russian historical thought, which originates in the legends, epics and chronicles of the peoples of the USSR. One of her remarkable achievements is a fundamental work in two volumes, “Heroes of the Soviet Union,” which contains short biographies based on documentary sources. There is another interesting study - A.V. Ogneva “Truth against lies. About the Great Patriotic War" , published in 2011. These and other similar sources need to be known and studied.

To the question of federal monitoring, “How do you assess the generation of people who won the Great Patriotic War?” 68% of respondents answered: “They accomplished a great historical feat, the fruits of which our contemporaries enjoy.” At the same time, more than a quarter (27%) of respondents believe that this is “The Generation of Winners who failed to reap the fruits of Victory.”

How can one not recall the well-known aphorism: “don’t shoot at the past with a gun, because the future will shoot at you with a cannon.” That is why it is very important to consistently fight these manifestations, not to allow them to cast a shadow on our heroic past, paying tribute to the bright memory, gratitude and great respect for the defenders of our Motherland, the leadership of the country, our army, thanks to whom the Great Victory was won.

Weapons are temporarily laid down as a sign of respect for the one who helped humanity understand space.

Science fiction owes a huge debt to Stephen Hawking. His groundbreaking theories in astrophysics and cosmology have helped advance understanding of everything from black holes to relativity. And when he passed away yesterday at the age of 76, players in the EVE Online community decided to recognize his contributions to science in their own way. Namely, by covering the night sky with the light of beacons.

So-called navigation beacons emit a bright, radiant light and are used to open a travel bridge for ships when diverging from their destination. On a normal day, seeing a beacon flash is a reason to panic; a signal meaning that this detachment has arrived to destroy you. However, yesterday and today, beacons appear throughout space in tribute to Hawking and his achievements.

Hawking's departure even prompted one pilot to travel to the Molea system, where the cemetery of the dead participants of the game in the EVE universe is located. There are also plans to erect a memorial in honor of Hawking.

Thanks to a command from “kairiola” on the social news site Reddit, pilots throughout the New Eden system began lighting beacons at 22:00 UTC, holy hours on end. According to the rules within the game, navigation beacons can only be lit in null-sec and low-sec zones of space, where NPC police forces cannot protect you. The image below is a heat map of the New Eden system, showing a huge cluster of hundreds of navigation beacon lights.

Here you can see several current satellite images of the shine of the navigation beacons in the New Eden system. And if you have trouble recognizing them, they look like distant galaxies.

When preparing the material for the website “Sarov Local History” (website) “... the burghers... were not allowed to realize this...”

I accidentally found out that Pavel Maksimovich Yagunov, the commander of the underground garrison of the Adzhimushkai catacombs, is a native of the village of Cheberchino, located about three hundred kilometers from Sarov, in the Dubyonsky district of the Republic of Mordovia.

Pavel Maksimovich Yagunov

In this regard, we immediately had a desire to visit this village, and not just visit, but to pay tribute to the memory of the brightest hero of the Great Patriotic War - to hold a “Lesson of Courage” in the local school (which was held during our Soviet school days) and lay a wreath at the bust Pavel Maksimovich. To do this, after rummaging around on the Internet and finding the details of the Cheberchinsk school, I contacted its director, Eduard Andreevich Spiridonov, by phone to agree on the day of our arrival. He was very sympathetic to our idea and assured that everything would be organized on his part and even asked: “We won’t owe you anything?”

In one of the Sarov funeral homes, we chose and appropriately for the occasion, decorated a memorial wreath, decorating it with the St. George ribbon and a red ribbon with the inscription “From the Public Historical Association “Sarov Hermitage” Eternal Memory to the Heroes of Adzhimushkai 1945 - 2017.”

On a Saturday morning in October on the 14th, a group of two people (Tkacheva K.I. and Demidova A.A.) we went to the Republic of Mordovia to the village of Cheberchino. The journey took four hours.

We were greeted by a rural school, founded in 1872, not by anyone, but by the inspector of public schools of the Simbirsk province (Mordovia did not exist then) Ilya Nikolaevich Ulyanov. Older people still remember who he is.

An extraordinary school in the village of Cheberchino

These boards and bas-relief mark the originality of the school in Cheberchino

The current school building was built in 1959 and has never been extensively renovated since then. The long-term construction of the school gym, through the efforts of Valentina Vladimirovna Arapova, acting director at the time of our arrival (unfortunately, Eduard Andreevich could not be present at school that day), was completed in 2003. When in 1979 Valentina Vladimirovna, as a graduate of this school, returned to it as a teacher, there were 360 students studying here in three shifts. There was a large subsidiary farm with its own equipment - they planted 3 hectares of potatoes alone. Today there are 17 students at the school, and fewer people live in the village than there were students in 1979 - 320 people (mostly pensioners). Here is the result of the state's domestic policy over the last quarter century. And therefore, the 2017–18 academic year, unfortunately, will be the last in the unique history of this extraordinary school, which is now four years short of its 150th anniversary.

We did not expect such preparation at the school for our arrival and were pleasantly surprised. In the assembly hall, in accordance with the theme of our arrival, a stage was decorated, relatives of Pavel Maksimovich (nephew Viktor Ivanovich Yagunov and niece Tamara Fedorovna Shikina), a correspondent of the regional newspaper “Novaya Zhizn” and other fellow villagers were invited.

Viktor Ivanovich Yagunov with his wife

Tamara Fedorovna Shikina

Valentina Vladimirovna prepared a program on the theme of Adzhimushkaya and, together with Zoya Viktorovna Nikerova, began the “Lesson of Courage”.

The “Lesson of Courage” has begun

Dead silence reigned in the hall.

Everyone listened with attention

Words were heard from the stage about the feat of the Underground Garrison and its legendary commander Pavel Maksimovich Yagunov, supported by illustrative material on the screen. Having completed her speech, Valentina Vladimirovna introduced us to those present, and the solemn event continued.

I began my story with the words: “This year marks the 75th anniversary of the legendary defense of the Adzhimushkay catacombs. Today is the fourteenth of October - there are already a few days left. On the thirtieth the defense ended. That's why they are still there underground, struggling, surviving, fighting, suffocating. And here, in the world, we live happily, we don’t know war. This obliges us to always remember them, and in particular the commander, your and our fellow countryman.”

Story by K. I. Tkachev

Then he spoke on behalf of the excursionist, telling during the unique excursion the story of the tragedy and at the same time the Great Feat of the defenders of the Adzhimushkai catacombs. The students and adults gathered in the hall were immersed in the atmosphere of the events that took place in the summer of 1942 on the Kerch Peninsula in the village of Adzhimushkay. It was clear that everyone was listening with genuine interest. My story ended with a Minute of Silence. To the sounds of the requiem, the undefeated heroes of “Crimean Brest” looked at those present from the screen, as if saying with a silent look: “Remember at what cost we got the Victory! Remember what we paid for your prosperous, peaceful life!” In conclusion, I showed the “witnesses” I found in the catacombs of that terrible tragedy and at the same time of the Great Feat - rusty cartridges, the necks of broken glass soldier’s flasks, as well as books on the basis of which material was prepared for the website and the story in the Cheberchin school (and not only in it).

Witnesses of the Great Feat

My story was prepared from these books

After that, we took a common memorial photo with schoolchildren and Pavel Maksimovich’s relatives.

A memorable photograph with schoolchildren and relatives of Pavel Maksimovich.

Third-graders Tanya Donova and Valya Chislova completed the school program with poems about Adzhimushkai’s feat.

Tanya and Valya read poetry

After the event, which took place in the assembly hall, all those present in an organized column headed to the bust of Pavel Maksimovich. At the front of the column, Igor Trankov, a graduate of the Cheberchinsk school, and I carried a wreath, which we laid at the bust of the commander of the Underground Garrison.

Solemn procession to the place of remembrance of Hero Adzhimushka

Laying a wreath

After laying a wreath at the bust of P. M. Yagunov

The event continued near his bust, the monument to the Soviet soldier and the bust of the hero of the Soviet Union Alexander Andreevich Manin. The schoolchildren performed and once again paid tribute in poetry to the memory of the untimely departed heroes of Adzhimushkai.

Performance by schoolchildren

I also said a few words about the brightest Hero of the Great Patriotic War. The meaning of my words was that his feat should have been marked with the Gold Star of the Hero of the Soviet Union, and now - the Hero of Russia, which is quite realistic. The countrymen of Pavel Maksimovich and all of us - citizens of Russia - should be worthy of the memory of P. M. Yagunov and the feat of the Heroes of Adzhimushka.

Speech by K. I. Tkachev

Having completed the solemn event, we, together with the teachers, returned to the school, where the table was already set in the dining room with homemade tomatoes, smoked lard, zucchini cake and much more. Everything our spoons and forks touched was prepared with passion and caring hands. Pavel Maksimovich’s relatives were also at the table, so conversations began to continue the theme of our arrival. This is the compilation of the “family tree” of P. M. Yagunov to this day. This is the history of the SCHOOL on the 150th anniversary of its founding. This is the history of the village of CHEBERCHINO itself from its foundation to the present day.

Saying goodbye to the legendary commander’s Little Motherland, we couldn’t part with Valentina Vladimirovna for a long time - we kept talking about different topics. And having set off on the way back, we decided for ourselves that we would definitely return here.

His name is Semyon Stepanovich Golubnov, private, born in 1908, Saratov region, Voskresensky district, Andreevka village. Now it is important to find his relatives. On August 18, the guys took part in a ceremonial parade dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the search movement in Russia. It originated in the Novgorod region. On August 19, the guys visited the Poddorsky Museum of Local Lore. Its staff warmly greeted us and led us through the halls of this wonderful museum. But the most important event was a visit to the memorial complex in Sambatovo, where Gavriil Pavlovich Maslovsky was buried in a mass grave. It was a great honor for the guys.

Meeting of search teams of the Irkutsk region "Tribute to Memory"

During from December 14 to 17 In the city of Angarsk, the next meeting of search teams of the Irkutsk region “Tribute to Memory” took place. The rally was attended by searchers and our detachment of MKOU secondary school No. 10 of the city of Nizhneudinsk "Tribute to Memory. Maslovtsy": Timofey Anisimov, Daria Khorshunova, Polina Selvesyuk, and the leader Elena Konstantinovna Medvedeva. At the conference, the guys presented a report on the work done over the year, sang war songs, visited the Victory Museum in the city of Angarsk, and attended seminars prepared by the DOSAAF society on “Uniforms during the Second World War.” At the closing of the conference, the guys were awarded diplomas and honorary badges. Medvedeva E.K. Was awarded the medal "Honorary Search Engine".

Search team news

October 8 Members of the "Tribute to Memory" search team: Yulia Grebenshchikova, Valeria Izmailova, Ekaterina Yakovleva, Timofey Anisimov and head Elena Konstantinovna Medvedeva carried out another cleaning at the Nizhneudinskoye cemetery. Order was restored at the grave of Maslovskaya Pelageya Fedorovna, the grave of the pilots who crashed in the Blue Mountain area during the Second World War and the stele “To those who died in hospitals.” The children of our school are proud and honor the memory of the heroes of the Second World War.

Algashet expedition

September 20 The guys from the "Tribute to Memory" search team made an expedition to the area of the village of Algashet. The purpose of the expedition was to search for the crash site of the Pe-231 plane on August 1942. As a result of working with archives. Data on the causes of the disaster, the names of the crew and a diagram of the crash site were obtained.

Together with the guys, Elena Konstantinovna Medvedeva, Anatoly Georgievich Kaminsky (reserve lieutenant colonel, Our Heritage club) and the head of the museum Tamara Vyacheslavovna Balaeva took part in the expedition.

The guys gained skills in working on the ground with a map, compass, radio communications, and a probe.

In the surveyed area, a duralumin plate with remains of light brown paint was found. There are holes along the edges of the plate, similar to the holes left during riveting in aircraft construction. All this makes it possible to assume that this part is part of the aircraft’s skin. The guys found out that during the war the Pe-2 was painted not only in the traditional green color, but also light brown.

The question arose, where are the rest of the plane? We still have to find out. The territory that we examined had been subject to deforestation for many years, and an oil pipeline was also being built. In the absence of a metal detector, we had to work with probes. The forest is covered with windbreaks and this also made the search difficult.

The guys got a charge of emotions, cooked over a fire, and even learned to shoot from the air. In the evening, tired but happy, we returned home by train.

They did a huge and very hard job of searching for dead soldiers during the Russian-Japanese War and the Great Patriotic War. In the area of Staraya Russa alone, search engines raised 800 fighters. 8 names were identified.

The guys from our detachment did a lot of work in the Nizhneudinsky district: caring for the graves of pilots who died in the Blue Mountain area of the Tulunsky district, the grave of G.P. Maslovsky’s mother, the stele of those who died in hospitals.

Over the course of a year, we searched for pilots who died during the war in our region while ferrying aircraft from aircraft factories. Contacts were established with relatives of Smirnov, Khodakov, and Deryabin. We have photographs of four pilots that will be installed on memorial plaques.

Together with a search team from Cheremkhovo, in April 2015 we are planning to travel to the battlefields in the Staraya Russa area.

And most importantly, the guys have made many new friends, with whom they are passionate about one very important matter - the matter of preserving the memory of the heroism of our people during the Great Patriotic War.

Search party raid

Every spring and autumn, the guys from the Tribute to Memory search team raid the cemetery. Search engines are cleaning the area of G.P.’s mother’s grave. Maslovsko, the grave of the pilots who died in the Blue Mountain area of the Tulun region. This year, the guys also cleaned up the stele “To those who died in evacuation hospitals in the city of Nizhneudinsk.” Students from grade 9 “B” also helped the guys.

Day of Remembrance

Hello dear reader. We don’t know each other yet, so let me introduce myself - Ivan Mikhailovich Bashurov. You can ask a completely reasonable question: “Why should we get to know you?” And I will answer you this way - I won’t force anyone, I just wanted to define myself as part of politeness.

I wanted to tell you about one of my trips with children. It all started on September 1, 2012. This was my first day as a teacher, namely a history and social studies teacher.

This was not the first time my bell rang, and the harsh everyday life of a teacher began: plans, reports, tests and lessons. The first quarter has passed, the second is coming to an end. One fine day, Nina Nikolaevna Leonova (the curator of the school museum) called me to her and said: “Ivan Mikhailovich, would you like to do search work in the Tribute to Memory detachment?” After thinking for a while, I decided that I wanted it and agreed.

It turns out that in December all the search teams get together and tell each other about the work done over the past year. Of course, I had heard about search parties before, but I had never personally encountered them. For me it was both new and interesting. They told me everything about the work done and sent me to the reporting conference in Angarsk.

The excitement, of course, is insane: I, the “new guy,” will see how they will receive me, how the leading “mammoth” search engines will treat me. Moreover, this was my first time accompanying children. Oh, how uncomfortable I felt... The train started moving, and all the exciting moments disappeared as if by hand: the work began. We sat down, drove off, went to bed, fell asleep, and... arrived. We went out onto the platform, and, horror of horrors, it was -38 outside. You may ask what’s terrible, it’s only -38 degrees. And I’ll answer you, yes, it’s not much for a Siberian, but when they were preparing for the trip, they told me that the children would have competitions on the street and various outdoor activities. And I seriously began to worry that my children would freeze. Well, okay, let's not get ahead of ourselves, but let's go in order. We arrived, boarded the bus, arrived at the venue, checked into our rooms and went to the conference.

The first day, as expected, passed in complete chaos and confusion. Of the twenty-eight units, about ten are fresh: new leaders and fighters. For them, as well as for us, everything could not have been more interesting. After hanging around in the hall for some time, the children were collected, structured and subordinated to the pedagogical squad's assistants. The leaders were called into the conference room. It gave me great joy to meet the head of the regional organization “Tribute to Memory” Maxim Viktorovich Toropkin, who has been traveling with his fighters from the “Seeker” detachment to the “Nevsky Piglet” for ten years. Where every year they conduct search operations and bury the bodies of dead soldiers.

This year, for the first time, a medal for search work was established. Out of 120 participants, no more than twenty people were awarded it. I, looking at everything that was happening through the eyes of a beginner, came to the conclusion that if I were given the right to represent fighters for this award, then everyone without exception would receive it, only for the fact that they are already giving their “Tribute to Memory” to those who did everything for the existence of our world. Every child deserves a medal only because he found the strength and courage to engage in this truly noble cause.

And, in fact, to be honest, this is where my story can end. Nothing terrible happened there - the children were doing their thing (playing, getting to know each other and preparing for the final concert), and the adults were doing theirs (handing in reports, discussing plans for the future, and I don’t remember what yet). In general, I wanted to thank my fighters: Alexander Mamaev, Dmitry Bisnek, Evgeniy Kuzmenkov and Sergei Tsygankov. To thank them for representing their city with dignity and performing well. With this, I say goodbye to you, until we meet again, dear reader.
