The Crimean Humanitarian University is a higher educational institution that occupies an individual niche in the national education system of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Ukraine as a whole.

The past and present of the Crimean Humanitarian University eloquently testify that over the sixty-five years of its existence it has gained a reputation as a significant educational and cultural center of the entire Southern region. The historical path traveled (Yalta Pedagogical College, college, Crimean State Institute for the Humanities, Crimean Humanitarian University) convincingly proves that the Crimean Humanitarian University is a mobile modern system that is sensitive to the innovations of social development.

At present, a highly qualified scientific and pedagogical team has been formed at the Crimean Humanitarian University, which includes about four hundred people (including forty-six doctors of science, one hundred and thirty candidates of science).

At the Crimean Humanitarian University, scientific research is being carried out at the modern level in a number of priority areas of the humanities. Some of these areas are:

• "Development and improvement of humanitarian education in a multinational region";
• "Development of a model for training a specialist in the humanities based on the use of health-saving technologies";
• "Studying the possibilities of integrating KSU into the international educational space",
• "Diagnosis and development of professional abilities in the field of art: cognitive and cultural approaches".

Over the past five years, based on the results of scientific research, about twenty monographs have been published, more than 120 scientific articles are published annually, five collections and periodicals are published, including professional publications "Humanitarian Sciences", "Problems of Modern Pedagogical Education".

Every year, about six hundred students of the Crimean Humanitarian University take part in research work. Scientific research centers of physical and mental health, depth psychology (together with the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine), international cooperation, economic research, education, science, and culture of the South Coast of Crimea successfully operate on the basis of the university.

Crimean Humanitarian University maintains and develops relations with foreign universities and organizations in order to integrate into the international educational space and reach a high level of education quality. Specialists from Russia, Belarus, the Baltic states, leading countries of Western Europe, the USA, and Israel participate in international conferences held on the basis of KSU.

The activities of the university are organized taking into account the multi-component content of education, based on information technologies of education and focused on the formation of a professionally mobile personality capable of constantly improving scientific knowledge and adequate perception of the evolutionary processes of modern society.

Crimean Humanitarian University (KSU)- state higher educational institution in the city of Yalta. For 2008, the total number of scientific and pedagogical staff of the university has 378 teachers, of which 53 are doctors of science; candidates of sciences -108. Every year leading scientists of Ukraine are involved in the work at the university. The composition of the university for 2008: 1 branch (Armyansk); 6 faculties; 21 departments (new department of economics and management in Armyansk), 6 research centers (regional center for higher education of the disabled; depth psychology, sector of international cooperation, economic research, innovative psychological research, "Education, science, culture of the South Coast"); public relations center; editorial and publishing department; a pre-university training center, a scientific library, a resource center for English language teachers, an information and computing center, an Economics and Humanities College, a training center for working professions "Nadezhda".

September 23, 2009 KSU celebrated its 65th anniversary. The history of the founding of KSU began with the creation in the 40s of the Yalta Pedagogical College, the Yalta Pedagogical College, and on their basis the Crimean State Humanitarian Institute arose, and then the Crimean Humanitarian University.
