How to wipe plasticine?

If there are children in the house, or you yourself are fond of creative processes in the form of modeling from plasticine, it is quite possible that you had to deal with such a problem as removing the pollution obtained through this material. The difficulty of removing plasticine, of course, is incommensurable with an attempt to remove a red wine stain from a white sofa, however, you will have to tinker with it, especially given the area and localization of the “plasticine” violation of cleanliness and order.

How to remove from hard surface?

Of course, the best option when you have done a little blood and all you need is just to wash the plasticine from wood, glass or plastic. For example, in the event that a table, toys or special children's modeling boards were smeared with it. This process will not take much time and effort. So, to erase plasticine from toys or boards, it will be enough collect hot water in a wide container and place contaminated items there for several minutes. The material will melt quickly, and you can easily scrape off any leftovers with a plastic knife or an alternative that is on hand, such as an old plastic discount card. After that, it is enough to wipe the item with a clean cloth dipped in soapy water or a mixture of ammonia and hydrogen peroxide (in a ratio of 1 to 1).

With the table, the actions are almost repeated. Prepare a warm soapy solution, wet the area of contamination and carefully remove it with a sponge and a scraper. Do not scratch wood or glass surfaces. If the plasticine does not rub off the table immediately, try to heat the defect with a hair dryer, this will make it more docile and you can use the sponge and soapy water again.

Removal from textiles

It is still not difficult to remove wax and other components of plasticine from plastic and wood, but what if the clothes are damaged? First, remove the top layer with a plastic knife or any other similar object. Then you can apply two contrasting, but effective methods: cooling or heating. The first will reduce the sticky properties of plasticine, and it will better separate from the fibers of the fabric. Freezing options:

  • packed in polyethylene, put in the freezer;
  • apply ice cubes to the stain;
  • apply a special cooling spray.

After such a procedure, the plasticine stain will harden, and it can be cleaned off with a plastic knife or a stiff brush.

When you don't want to freeze your hands turn on the iron. If the plasticine components hardened with the use of ice, then the heating device will melt them. The method will help to cope with the problem on dense fabrics, such as jeans or trousers. To do this, you need to take a few paper napkins and place one under the stained area, and the second above the fabric.

Without turning on the steam effect, it is necessary to iron the napkin a couple of times, as a result of which the plasticine will remain on it.

Grease stain removal

Unfortunately, having removed a significant part of the sticky material, it will still leave a stain in the form of particles of dye and fat that have eaten into the fabric. For its subsequent removal, it is possible to use laundry soap, ammonia, vegetable oil or dish detergent.

A third of a regular bar of laundry soap is recommended to be rubbed on a grater. Then pour this soap shavings with water until a thick foam forms, where the damaged thing should be placed, and rub the stain with soap. Half an hour later, the problem area must be brushed and washed as usual. The method is effective for all types of materials, but you should be careful with delicate things.- it is better not to make too intensive movements with a brush.

If it was on the shelf ammonia- feel free to use it. To do this, dissolve 10 drops of the substance in 200 ml of water. A small stain should be treated with such a solution using a cotton pad, and then wash the clothes completely. A heavily soiled item can be soaked for half an hour. The composition of the solution is the same, just increase the volumes according to the outgoing proportions.

And, finally, one of the simplest and most effective methods for removing greasy stains from plasticine on clothes. The good thing is that dishwashing detergent with vegetable oil is almost always available at home. Here it is enough to moisten a cotton pad with oil and rub the problem area with it for several minutes.

This will dissolve the fats, then treat the trace with a product and leave the item for an hour. Subsequent washing will completely remove the stain.

How to clean wallpaper?

However, you can get dirty not only objects and clothes - children know a lot about this. If the plasticine is on the wallpaper, and you do not consider it as a conceptual wall decoration, arm yourself with a few items to get rid of the stain as soon as possible. In the event that smooth canvases are damaged, be sure to prepare the following:

  • scraper;
  • dry napkin;
  • sponge and detergent.

First, try to gently remove the top layer of plasticine with a scraper. Don't smudge, just scrape off. After removing the top part of the dirt, connect the hair dryer. Heat the stain with it, and then blot with a napkin. You can repeat these steps several times in a row. In the case of wallpaper, a greasy stain may also remain after contamination with plasticine, so you need to use a sponge, after wetting it in soapy water. Do not pour water on the stain, and also thickly saturate the sponge. It is enough to moisten, wring out and rub the soiled area.

After that, it remains to dry the treated area with a hairdryer.

Then follow the same steps as in the case of smooth ones. We heat the problem area with a hairdryer, then we try to get rid of the remnants of pollution with a napkin.

And a trace in the form of a greasy spot will help to wipe off a sponge dipped in a pre-prepared soapy solution.

Additional life hacks: if you don’t have a hair dryer at hand, try to gently melt the plasticine with a heated iron or a regular damp cloth. And be sure to keep in mind that the dry paper towel used to remove plasticine should ideally be white, without drawings and easily soiled traces. Otherwise, you can manage to worsen an already polluted place.

Blue, red, green or any other color - regular plasticine will still be sticky. Don't worry if it sticks where you don't want it. To do this, there are simple methods that will help solve the problem even at home.
