Tatyana recalls how difficult it was for her to return to the ice after the birth of her first daughter Alexandra when Roman suggested resuming their pairs ice skating:
I couldn’t understand why I needed this when my little daughter was somewhere out there with someone else’s aunt...
But after the coach’s words that she wouldn’t succeed, she pulled herself together and made her dream of a gold medal come true. Olympic medal. After the victory, there was a difficult divorce from her first husband, Alexander Zhulin. Then the main thing for Tatyana was “to save my daughter, her psychological health, because she madly loved both parents”.
I am grateful to Sasha’s father for always taking my side in raising my daughter, and for us to have such a wonderful daughter. “I’m proud of her,” Navka admits.
