Description of the nadi from the story of Kuprin the elephant. Encyclopedia of fairy-tale heroes: "Elephant". Other retellings and reviews for the reader's diary

This story by Kuprin is a bright and kind work. It is dominated by love for children and respect for their dreams. All the characters in the story are positive. And everything in it develops perfectly, although the story begins with a sad scene - the illness of the girl Nadia.

Doctors who examine the patient cannot understand the causes of the disease. But one of them suspects that the fault is indifference to life. And he gives inconsolable parents advice to fulfill any desires of their beloved daughter.

It is immediately clear that both father and mother love their child boundlessly. They appear before the reader dejected by grief and tired of worries. The mother looks tearful, and the father is visibly nervous.

And, they would be happy to fulfill any whim of the girl. Yes, the trouble was that she did not want anything. And here the author resorts to such a solution to the problem as a connection with nature, the animal world. The girl unexpectedly declares that she wants to see an elephant in her house.

This animal in the story acts as her savior. Firstly, the author wanted to emphasize that the connection between man and nature is really inseparable, and communication with its other creations can work wonders. It is no coincidence that he chooses the elephant. After all, this animal, brought up in a circus, is smart and friendly towards people. And also - strong. Kuprin gives Tommy here not only physical strength, but also healing.

And one more thing: it helps the girl to cope with the blues and the fact that her cherished dream is coming true. She did not like the clockwork elephant bought by her father. Although she, not wanting to upset dad, thanks him. But still, she wanted to see exactly a living being. And the fact that the elephant was sure to visit the sick woman in her house is understandable: the girl wanted not only to admire the animal in the circus, but to communicate with him.

No matter how crazy this idea may seem, but Nadia's father decides to fulfill it at all costs. The German, the owner of the animals, to whom he turned with his strange request, is at first perplexed. But then he goes to meet a strange visitor. And he also had a little daughter. And, most likely, he imagined himself in the place of Nadia's father.

Since the story is filled only with positive-minded characters, everything goes without any obstacles. The elephant finally visits the sick girl. She played with him all day. And, thanks to her great friend, she even ate with appetite.

The dreams Nadia had after Tommy's visit were happy ones. The animal had the most positive impact on the girl's health. And, a real miracle happens - the very next day she feels completely healthy!

The story presents an almost utopian picture of society. Relations between people seem to be ideal, because everyone we meet on its pages is sympathetic and understanding people. It would be good if situations were always resolved in reality, and dreams came true and miracles happened. But the most important thing in it is that the miracle that happened was created by loving people.

  • Composition Why Chatsky is doomed to loneliness (reasoning)

For many of us, such a word as loneliness is associated with a certain peculiarity, uniqueness and novelty. Our thinking and perception is influenced by the society around us.

The fascinating and intricate stories that the author recreates in his works always very eloquently reflect the essence and uniqueness of each character, especially in a poetic light Kuprin depicts animal world.

Kuprin's optimistic outlook on life develops especially prominently in relation to nature, as to a single living thing. The story "The Elephant" convincingly shows that people stop appreciating nature and do not see any salvation in it. But after all, it was communication with the same living creature as Nadia herself that in just one day was able to cure the girl, who was already desperate to be brought back to life by the most experienced doctors in their field. Problems of the work created very convincingly and quite simply: you need to believe, love and do everything in your power so that your loved ones next to you can always feel in you a reliable, kind and strong person. Another thread is the theme of children's dreams. Each of us has a memory from childhood, which has remained a pipe dream. Nadenka was very lucky that her dad, by all means, arranged a meeting between his daughter and an elephant, even if they lived on the second floor.

Story line The story is pretty dynamic. The plot begins with the first paragraph. We learn that the girl is ill. Every day she was visited by doctors who carried out a thorough examination and wondered what was the matter.

The main part falls on the conversation of the pope with the German trainer, on the decision of which the fate of Nadia and her entire family depends. This is a very exciting moment, because in the event of a German refusal, everything could have turned out differently. But this circus man becomes in this story the image of an attentive, sympathetic and kind person. He sympathized with the misfortune of Nadia's father and, as is clear between the lines, involuntarily imagined himself in his place. After all, the trainer also had a daughter, Liza, who was the same age as Nadia.

The climax falls on the happy moment of a childhood dream coming true - the moment Nadia meets a real elephant named Tommy. He made a great impression on her and even turned out to be a little more than Nadia imagined him to be. But the girl was not in the least afraid of such a guest, but happily began to talk respectfully with him, look at books, drink tea and play.

This story has a happy ending. Thanks to her father, trainer and Tommy the elephant, the girl has recovered, and it is very pleasant to think that Nadia and Tommy will continue to visit each other.

The images of the characters in the work "Elephant" are all characterized as positive. And it pleases, so I want to find myself surrounded by such people, where everyone is ready to listen, understand and help. This state of affairs today is becoming more and more a utopia.

The image of Nadia- this is an obedient, exemplary and educated girl who does not want to upset her parents. But, unfortunately, she herself cannot figure out what is wrong with her until she had a good dream about an elephant. Nadya's father is a loving, stubborn, reliable person who believed in his child and decided to make the dream come true in every possible way. After all, the happiness of young children depends entirely on their parents. Mom is the ideal image of a woman who is ready to fulfill all the requests of her child, if only Nadia is on the mend. And she, like no one else, should know that there is nothing worse than a sick child. The German trainer showed a sense of compassion and tried to help, no matter how absurd this request seemed to him initially. And the elephant Tommy from the first lines about him causes only an unlimited feeling of sympathy.

Even the neighbors, who were covered in plaster from Tommy's squats, didn't say a word. It doesn’t matter what they thought, but most importantly, they didn’t spoil the holiday. And the policeman does not appear as a stumbling block, but only calmly asks onlookers to disperse. And let's not forget about the owner of the bakery, who had a pistachio cake and buns ready for such an occasion, even though it was already dead of night outside.

Kuprin's story turned out to be kind, bright, filled with boundless love for children.

Alexander Ivanovich Kuprin

"Elephant"

The little girl Nadia (6 years old) fell ill, according to Dr. Mikhail Petrovich, with "indifference to life." The only cure is to cheer. But the girl doesn't want anything.

One day she asked for an elephant. Half an hour later, dad brought her an “expensive beautiful toy” - a gray elephant, which itself waves its tail and shakes its head. But the girl said she wanted the real one, and this one is dead. Then dad goes to the menagerie and begs the German owner to let the elephant Tommy go to their house. The German does not understand at first, but dad explained everything. Then the owner of the menagerie allows the elephant to visit at night and checks himself whether this is possible (whether there is a large room, a strong floor, wide doors).

At night, the elephant is led into the house. In order for him to climb the stairs to the second floor, dad buys a pistachio cake for him. In the morning they tell Nadia that the elephant has come, they feed her with soft-boiled eggs and milk, and they take her to the elephant in a carriage. The girl is not afraid of the elephant, they drink tea together: the girl drinks tea, the elephant - sugar water with rolls. Nadia introduces him to dolls, shows him a picture book. Friends have lunch together. In the evening, Nadia cannot be torn away from the elephant, she falls asleep next to him and has a dream that she “married Tommy, and they have many children, small, cheerful elephants.”

The elephant is taken away. In the morning the girl wakes up cheerful and, having learned that the elephant has left and called her to visit, she asks to tell that she is already completely healthy.

Six-year-old Nadia is unwell. She is not interested in her favorite dolls, not even in the friends she loved to play with so much before. She even refuses chocolate. Nadia is sick with indifference to life. The doctors who come every day to their house cannot do anything. Each time they give only the same advice - not to let Nadia get bored, entertain her and fulfill all her whims. Parents would be happy to fulfill the prescriptions of doctors, but Nadia does not want anything.

This morning Nadenka woke up a little more cheerfully than usual. She had some kind of dream. But he cannot remember it. To her mother’s usual question if she needs anything, she suddenly remembers her dream and in a whisper, as if sharing a secret, asks for an elephant. Nadenka's dad immediately runs out of the house and after 30 minutes brought his daughter a big gray elephant. He is groovy. He knows how to swing his trunk and tail, and on his back in a tent embroidered with gold sit 3 little men. A distressed Nadia says that this elephant is dead, but she wanted a living one and reminded her father that he once promised to take her to the menagerie, but never did.

The father leaves home again, this time he goes to the menagerie. After watching the performance, he approached the owner of the menagerie. He tells him about his daughter, about her illness and the request to bring her an elephant. The owner of the menagerie was filled with sympathy for the girl Nadia, since he himself has a six-year-old daughter. They agree that at night, in order not to disturb the peace of the townspeople, they will bring the elephant to Nadya's house. The next morning, the girl woke up and was told that an elephant had come to visit, but first she needed to eat and get dressed. Nadia shows interest in everything that happens around. She quickly ate an egg, drank hot milk and, without resisting, got dressed. When Nadia was taken to the living room to the elephant, she was amazed at its size. She met Tommy the elephant, asked how he slept, and began to treat the elephant with rolls and sweet water. All day long they play together and even dine at the same table.

In the evening, when it was time to sleep, Nadenka could not be torn away from Tommy, so she fell asleep next to him. The girl was taken to bed, and the elephant was returned to the menagerie. The next morning, the girl was told that Tommy had gone home to his children and asked her to tell her that he was waiting for her to visit when she got stronger and recovered. Nadya smiled slyly and asked him to tell Tommy that she was already well.

In the dream, she and Tommy got married. and they had funny baby elephants. The elephant is returned to the menagerie, and in the morning the girl asks to tell Tommy that she has recovered.

Conclusion (my opinion)

In difficult times, it is important to help each other, strangers. The owner of the menagerie agreed with the request of Nadia's father, empathizing with him. We are all human, and kindness and help make us human. Sometimes it is not the body that hurts, but the soul, and in order to heal it, we need bright feelings, warm and kind, magical impressions.
