Before sterilizing jars, you need to wash them with any detergent, you can also use laundry soap(odorless) or baking soda. You can sterilize jars as usual over steam or in a slow cooker, microwave, or oven. Choose the method that suits you.

Don’t forget about the lids, they also need to be sterilized or simply rinsed and filled with boiling water and left for 5 - 10 minutes.

The cucumbers you choose should be thoroughly washed in two waters and dried. At the bottom of each jar we place black peppercorns, sprigs of dill and a bay leaf. Now put the cucumbers into jars. In small jars you need to cut the cucumbers into slices or large cubes. Set the jars of cucumbers aside and prepare the marinade.

  • Horseradish leaf;
  • Dill umbrella;
  • 5-6 peas of allspice.

Let's prepare vegetables for canning

For canning, it is better to use recently harvested small cucumbers. We wash them under running water and leave them soaked in cold water for 2-3 hours. This is done to ensure that the cucumbers are crispy. We cut off their butts.

Place dill, horseradish, pepper and garlic on the bottom of clean and dry jars. Place the cucumbers in the jars, pressing them tightly one to one.

We take four clean, sterilized jars, place currant leaves, dill, and garlic in them. If desired, you can add bay leaf and black pepper.
