There is such an interesting observation: many great scientists, inventors and politicians at school were distinguished not only bad behavior, but also an abundance of twos. Churchill, Mayakovsky, Brodsky, Tolstoy and Yanukovych - all of them did not shine with positive marks in educational institution(the myth about the poor student Einstein was far-fetched). But this fact does not give the right to be negligent about the problem of assessing schoolchildren, improving their knowledge and monitoring their learning. The terms USE, GIA, testing work, tests.
About StatGrad
The time when a teacher assessed the knowledge of his student in an oral conversation is a thing of the past. Nowadays, many new technologies have appeared that have their own positive sides. A striking example- "StatGrad". This is a fresh, advanced method for assessing students’ knowledge in certain subjects. Its main mission is to help and check the child’s readiness for school exams. The creator of “StatGrad” is the Moscow Institute of Open Learning. The Center for Continuous Training in Mathematics took an active part in the improvement.
But the entire initial initiative came from Rospotrebnadzor. This technology is approved by the Ministry of Education, good feedback come from the organizers of subject Olympiads. “StatGrad” does not have “obligatory” status; it is a personal initiative of the school or individual teachers. And the project itself is considered a pilot.
Main goals of the system:
- Develop new teaching methods.
- Monitor the quality of students’ existing knowledge.
- Increase the sense of responsibility in children.
- Help prepare for exams.
- Help assess the level of teaching of a particular discipline.
- Find gaps in the school curriculum.
- Strengthen interdisciplinary connections.
"StatGrad" works in an informational manner. The system sends out tasks, checks answers, draws conclusions, and makes recommendations. First you need to register in the system, get a login and password. It is not possible to familiarize yourself with the site for the sake of sport. The resource provides information only to real students and teachers. If you are already in the system, then know that in the summer of 2017 another regular update of registrations took place. You need to get new passwords and logins. You can register on your own, but more often it is done as a class or as a whole school.
"StatGrad" not only evaluates knowledge, but also gives recommendations, finds weak spots as a teaching discipline. Children who are focused on serious learning are vitally interested in participating and testing their knowledge. Many subjects are key to a particular specialty or profession. Any thinking and conscientious student will want to test their knowledge and receive an independent assessment. The most popular disciplines are Russian language, chemistry, history.
Additional details
The system is far from perfect, but there are more positive reviews than negative ones. Schoolchildren who attend 9th grade or 11th grade are most interested in testing. After all, these are graduating classes who are awaiting important exams. This is also the time to choose your profession. Biology tasks will help those who decide to become a doctor, and math problems will be useful to future programmers and engineers.
Testing is carried out centrally throughout the country. Local Standard Time is 2:00 pm (after all classes have ended). You have 45 minutes to solve the tests. Most tasks only require indicating the correct answer with a mark on a standard form. Creative responses are less common. In this case, the child needs to write several sentences.
Prospects for 2017-2018
There are no prerequisites for canceling these test tasks No. No one obliges you to participate in the system; test results are not reflected in final grades and prospects for a good job in life. This is an additional opportunity to verify and evaluate your own knowledge and the quality of teaching at school. The country’s authorities will not insist on the mandatory passage of “StatGrad”, because this will require financial costs, will cause a wave of discontent. It is better to treat such a test as a game.
If your instructor encourages you to participate, do so for the sake of respect and personal self-esteem. The system is characterized by fairness and objectivity. Perhaps your teacher is lowering your grades. “StatGrad” will show his subjective attitude and give him confidence in the future.
Modern assessments of the knowledge of Russian children often do not stand up to criticism. The test system introduced relatively recently sometimes morally cripples the intellect of the younger generation. Here's what thoughtful people say about it:
