World of warships development tree. World of Warships. A branch of Soviet cruisers. Tips for the game. Ship classes in World of Warships

The first mentions of the game World of Warships were made back in 2011. Then the Wargaming company, inspired by the success of its World of Tanks project, promised to move fighting to water spaces. And four years later, a new MMO action game is undergoing beta testing. Players will take part in military battles on combat ships, consolidating their positions and developing their fleet. WoWs uses a Free-to-play distribution method and thus anyone can try it.

Gameplay

The gameplay of World of Warships will be quite familiar to all tank fans. The player has at his disposal a hangar with several slots for the ships he has purchased. Each ship has its own captain with a certain set of characteristics that influence the success of actions in battle. In the hangar, a ship is selected for the upcoming mission, new technical modules are installed, repairs are made, and a new mission is selected.

For participation in hostilities, and especially for victory over the enemy, experience points are awarded. In this case, experience is of two types: points for a specific ship that completed the task, and general points for the entire account. The first type is necessary for upgrading a warship and installing new modules, and the second for improving any ship in the hangar. By the way, as in many online games, upgrades are available for real money converted into virtual credits.

The captains' skills also develop, and they themselves can be transferred from one ship to another, but for this they will have to relearn how to control a certain type of ship. With the maximum upgrade of equipment, the ship goes into the elite category, and all the experience points it earns go into the general fund or to accelerate the development of the captain’s characteristics.

The game has several modes and a set of different missions that can be completed alone or by joining a group. As a rule, the main tasks of a battle group are to capture a target point (fortress or island) or destroy all enemy ships. And often, it is necessary to do both. There are also some unusual missions, such as "Supremacy": you need to score the maximum number of points by capturing and holding specific territories while maintaining the maximum number of allied ships.

Ship classes in World of Warships

The player can choose from the following 4 classes of ships:

1. Destroyers.

Light and small-sized vessels, characterized by high speed and maneuverability. Due to their small dimensions, they cannot be equipped with many guns, so they do not have great fire potential, as well as armor. However, small size has its advantages - destroyers are quite a difficult target. In addition, they are equipped with underwater torpedoes that can cause significant damage to enemy ships. And to cover themselves and their allies, destroyers use smoke screens.

2. Battleships.

Heavy armored warships equipped with numerous powerful weapons. And although they do not have great speed, the striking power of these ships can create a lot of trouble for the enemy. Strong armor and survivability allow them for a long time stand fire.

3. Cruisers.

These ships occupy an intermediate position between destroyers and battleships. They are quite fast and at the same time have a good set of guns in their arsenal. They have more armor than destroyers, and, like the latter, their list of weapons is complemented by torpedoes.

4. Aircraft carriers.

Huge aircraft carriers do not have high firepower, their speed does not allow them to evade pursuit or overtake the enemy, and their armor will not be able to withstand direct attacks for long. Their main purpose is to transport and manage air groups. There are 3 types of aircraft on the ship's platform: bombers, torpedo bombers and fighters. Bombers come close to enemy ships and drop bombs on them - the damage is small, but it is very difficult to dodge these shells. Torpedo bombers inflict more serious damage with volleys of their missiles, but the chance of a miss when fired is quite high. Fighters have a different task - destroying enemy aircraft and covering their air groups.

World of Warships development branches

During the beta test of World of Warships and by the time of the official release, only two development branches will be available to the player. In the future, the developers plan to introduce more nationalities of warships, but for now you can choose either American or Japanese ships.

Each branch has its own distinctive features, which begin to become more and more clear as you progress through the game. Comparing the same classes of ships of different branches, one can note tangible differences. For example, Japanese destroyers have the best torpedoes in terms of range and power, but US ships are noticeably stronger. American cruisers have significant armor protection, good artillery pieces and air defense, in the process of development they abandon torpedoes and at high levels are more like “light battleships”. The Japanese, on the contrary, at the expense of armor and air defense, supply their cruisers with the maximum number of weapons and torpedoes. The US Navy owns the most powerful aircraft carrier, the Midway, which carries more than a hundred aircraft on board - Japanese ships of this class cannot oppose it with similar equipment. However, the Imperial Navy has at its disposal the unique battleship Yamato with the largest maneuvering area, the highest armor-piercing power and survivability. According to the developers, the Yamato can only be opposed to another Yamato; the Americans do not have such a vessel.

Considering the characteristics of ships of different branches, the gameplay for each side will also differ. Playing as the Americans, you can choose a fairly simple battle tactic: take a comfortable position and, counting on the ships’ good armor, shoot the enemy with powerful guns. The US Navy successfully defeats the enemy using brute force firepower. The Japanese cannot afford long firefights - their armor and weak air defense are not able to provide sufficient protection. The main principle of playing for Japan is an unexpected powerful attack and retreat. Their strength lies in torpedoes and massive salvoes from all guns in a short period of time.

Controls and combat in World of Warships

In terms of gaming, the ship is controlled using both the keyboard and the mouse. On the one hand, nothing complicated, but in reality the player may encounter some difficulties. The fact is that each specific ship has its own nuances in control: different sets of speeds, different rotation of the steering wheel, different mass and dimensions. In addition to this, the inertia of the vessel must always be taken into account. When moving through water, you cannot suddenly brake or turn around. Therefore, the player will have to calculate all his actions in advance in order to avoid being hit by enemy shells or simply not running aground.

Accordingly, battles in each class of ship also take place differently. The destroyer constantly changes course and tries to successfully launch torpedoes, after which it quickly retreats or hides behind rocks, simultaneously releasing smoke to cover its group. The cruiser strives to get closer to shoot the enemy without getting under heavy fire. The battleship takes a confident position and fires cannon salvoes at the ships from a distance. An aircraft carrier has a more stressful situation - it needs to constantly manage several air groups and at the same time take into account the changing arrangement of ships on the map in order to move to a safe position in time. Playing as aircraft carriers has the greatest tactical component, while other classes are more action-oriented.

Each vessel has its own task, its place in the group. It is important to act coherently and effectively as a team in order to win naval battles.

Walkthrough of the game and its features

In the process of completing missions, you gain the necessary experience to increase the level of your entire account. This non-standard software solution is a pleasant highlight of World of Warships. Increasing the level opens up access to new types of battles and more complex missions, and additional ships become available. High-level accounts receive more prizes for completing tasks. As the user progresses through the game, he unlocks more and more ships and missions, the technical sophistication of the fleet grows, and its participation in group missions becomes more valuable.

The gameplay has a lot of pretty interesting features. Battles on the water do not proceed monotonously and predictably. An unexpectedly successful hit on an important part of the ship can decide the outcome of the battle in a few seconds.

A system of modular damage to ships has been implemented, in which not only their overall “health” is reduced, but also individual pieces of equipment fail. An interesting point is the ability to repair the ship right during the mission. The ship is equipped with a special repair system - its use is limited, but it can really save the situation.

There are no complaints about the graphical component: the glare of the sun on the water, waves, wind, fire on ships - everything, as expected, was perfectly executed. And, of course, the highest level of detail on warships is the calling card of the Wargaming developers. All the smallest elements are visible, and when upgrading, the “filling” of the deck changes. High-quality graphics combined with excellent gameplay leave a very pleasant impression of the game.

Beautiful and thoughtful World of Warships will appeal to all fans of online war games.

Squadron exit Soviet cruisers still to come, which cannot be said about them battle path in World of Warships. Each of them went through hundreds of battles during testing, and now we can highlight many character traits new branch and offer you some tactical tips that will definitely be useful in the near future. Be prepared to meet the new branch fully armed!

Branch of Soviet cruisers

Soviet cruisers are ships that can cause a lot of trouble for the enemy, but do not like excessive risks. Despite the individual features of the gameplay of each of them, this statement can be called common to all representatives of the branch, as well as the following features.

pros
+ Branded soviet artillery: many guns, high rate of fire, accuracy and firing range.

Optimal ballistic trajectory and projectile flight speed. Good chances of armor penetration and arson.

Large supply of combat effectiveness points.

High travel speed.

Effective anti-aircraft weapons on ships of tiers V–X.

Tier VIII–X ships have access to a unique type of equipment - search radar.

Minuses
- Large size and, as a result, visibility and low maneuverability.

Vulnerability of the citadel.

The difficulty of implementing torpedo armament, despite comfortable guidance angles.

Tactics

Like Soviet destroyers, the new line of cruisers is primarily about shooting. The artillery potential of these ships is very great. Using it correctly, you will get a solid advantage in battle, and not only over your “classmates.” With them, with the proper skill, you will have a short conversation over a long distance. This is the first rule:

Avoid skirmishes on the front line, use the range of your guns.

Careful play is necessary, because the citadel of Soviet cruisers is theirs. vulnerable spot. It's connected with large sizes the ships themselves and their power plants. Substitute the enemy's side - worst idea commander of the Soviet cruiser.

Try to play from the bow or stern -

This is the second, no less important.
Compensating for their shortcoming, most Soviet cruisers themselves are capable of penetrating almost anything that moves at a favorable angle. Otherwise, cause impressive damage with landmines. Both types of shells on these ships more than justify their presence, and therefore:

conduct combined shooting -

this is the third. Of course, when meeting with a battleship or destroyer, landmines will be more reliable. By the way, about destroyers: senior representatives of the branch of Soviet cruisers promise to become the worst enemies of ships of this class due to their unique equipment - radar. It allows you to reveal for a short period of time the location of all enemies within a radius of 11.7 km, including those covered by a smoke screen. Naturally, without fire support from the team, this time may not be enough to send the enemy to the bottom, therefore:

try to stick to your allies.

One of the working tactics for a mid- or senior-tier Soviet cruiser is to operate in tandem with a battleship. This combination fits perfectly into your plan to play from a distance and not get into focus. The battleship will be glad to be protected from destroyers and especially aviation, because the older Soviet cruisers have decent air defense systems.

Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about torpedoes. Due to their modest range, they look only like weapons of last chance, and only Svetlana and Dmitry Donskoy can argue with this.

We will tell you in detail about these and other ships of the new branch very soon.

Follow the news!

2016 is gradually approaching its end, the main branches of this year have already seen the light of day, these are: Soviet and British cruisers, as well as German battleships. An alternative branch of Japanese destroyers should be released by the end of the year, but it cannot be called full-fledged; it will end at level 8. Probably in the future we will see ships of levels 9-10 in this branch, but when this will happen and what will be top is still very early to say.

And today I would like to focus my attention on those branches that await us next year. I’ll say right away that all the information I’ve presented is an exceptional reflection of varying degrees of imagination. No new branches have been officially announced, and it’s unlikely that anything should be expected before the end of the year.

So, we’ll start with the fact that now WoWS presents national branches of key naval countries from the period of the first and second world wars. Considering that many “nations” are now not complete, in 2017 I would expect mainly the addition of current nations with new branches of ships, and not the announcement of some new nations.

Germans

The Kriegsmarine really lacks a branch for full representation in World of Warships destroyers. Fortunately, there were actually quite a lot of ships of this class and making a branch out of them is not particularly difficult. Since the development of German destroyers was largely carried out sequentially, it would not be too difficult to assume a 9-10 level of the future German branch. They will become Zerstörer 1942 and Zerstörer 1944 are also known as Z-51 and Z-52 respectively.

Presumable 9th level of the German destroyer branch. Z-51

Estimated 10ka. Z-52.

According to officially confirmed information, the branch has already been modeled and is awaiting configuration and testing. So, right now, when you are reading these lines, Leste is deciding on the issues of “the uniqueness of the new branch.” One can only hope that the Germans will be spared by what is being demonstrated in Lately"elfism". The branch should be expected next winter.

Adviсe

Here, too, everything is quite prosaic. The Soviets are desperately short of branches battleships, and quite a few players are rightfully waiting for this very branch.

However, there were quite expected difficulties with it. The fact is that Russia’s own “iron” battleships are running out during the decline of the Russian Empire. In the USSR, the construction of new battleships began only in 1938, so that later, in October 1940, construction was frozen and then finally cancelled.

Accordingly, a hole is formed between the middle levels and the “tops”, which can only be plugged with “napkins and paper” of varying degrees of plausibility. This is one of the reasons why the branch of Soviet battleships has not yet seen the light of day.

It’s worth saying a few words about what awaits us at the top of the thread. Quite expectedly, this will be Project 23 “Soviet Union”, created at one time with the goal of putting Iowa under the belt. And in its time, it really could have become one of the most advanced battleships. If only it had been completed.

However, at level 10, to fight the Yamatami and Grosser Kurfürsts, Project 23 with 9,406 mm guns is frankly no longer suitable and they use wishful thinking and tampering, which can be called Project 24. Compared to its predecessor, the caliber of guns and displacement will greatly increase. The general layout will remain unchanged - 3 turrets, 3 guns each, but the caliber will be 457 mm. Presumably, the key feature of the Soviets will remain the same - excellent ballistics.

What stage the Soviet battleships are currently at is officially unknown.

In addition, some rumors suggest that the councils will have an alternative branch destroyers, fortunately, there were many ships of this class in the USSR. Moreover, the existing branch consists for the most part not of destroyers, but of “leaders”. Unfortunately, there are no specifics about the new branch at the moment, so the likelihood of its appearance in 2017 is not very high.

Americans

America is a full-fledged nation in the Air Force and it doesn’t seem to be in a hurry for new ships. However, it was previously announced several times that Cleveland would sooner or later “leave” from level 6 somewhere to an alternative branch.

Lately, however, such conversations have been practically unheard of, but the Internet remembers everything. And in a recent interview with the developer, the American branch was clearly mentioned light cruisers. Where Cleveland actually suggests itself. In addition, few people remember that the American 10ka - Worcester - already appeared in the client. At that time, it was not said why the hell it was modeled, and since then this ship has been lying there awaiting its fate. And there really aren’t many options here - either a promotional ship for all sorts of clans and other activities, or the fate of the top of the new branch of light cruisers.

American cruiser tier 10 Worcester.

British

A full-fledged branch of British ships has only recently appeared in World of Warships. It took the Queen of the Seas a relatively long time to get to the game, and the inaccessibility of English archives played a significant role in this. In the new year we should expect the replenishment of this nation with new branches and the first in line will most likely be battleships.

Throughout its turbulent history, Britain churned out battleships literally in batches, quite a few important role It also plays out that it was in England that battleships (dreadnoughts) were born in the form in which they existed until the end of the war. The only difficulty is that by the end of the war, the “Englishwoman” was greatly “blown away”. The last battleship of this nation to enter service is the Vanguard, which is at most level 8. Accordingly in the tops future branch Traditionally, some kind of paper awaits us.

Estimated level 8 British branch battleships - Vanguard.

You will be able to admire the new line of battleships in the game no earlier than the summer of 2017.

WITH destroyers there is no clarity at all. It is obvious that there will be a branch of British destroyers in the Armed Forces, but whether this will happen in 2017 is unknown.

French people

Already represented in the game by the Dunkirk-class battleship. And it is most likely that in 2017 this nation will be supplemented with some kind of upgradeable branch of ships. However, there is currently little information on this matter; the French traditionally have problems with tops, so it’s hard to even estimate future class a new branch is very difficult.

Let's summarize

At the moment, Lesta is trying to maintain the pace of one new branch for three months, so in 2017 we expect 4 new branches. Most likely these will be: German destroyers, Soviet battleships, British battleships, and either American cruisers or some French ones.

In conclusion, it is worth repeating that all of the above is not an official announcement, but only a small introduction to the topic of future branches. Time will tell what these branches will actually be like.

Which nations and branches in WoWS are you most looking forward to? Have your say in the comments!

UPD: There will most likely be no Soviet battleships in 2017. :(And the next branch will most likely be German destroyers.

Alexey Levakov, producer.

However, the US Navy did not build specialized training cruisers, so we were faced with the question - what kind of ship can we oppose Katori? At the same time, our main task was to find a fairly universal ship with a relatively small displacement that could be compared to Katori. Quite a non-trivial task, I want to tell you. The solution was found: the gunboat Erie. She is, of course, inferior in displacement to Katori, but has more guns. large caliber, and also carries some kind of reservation. In addition, it has enough space on the upper deck to accommodate the location of torpedo tubes (in alternative history, of course :))

However, Eri was not our most difficult decision. The most difficult and more than once rejected decision was which American ship would be able to give a worthy rebuff to the Japanese Yamato.

Let me remind you that the battleships Yamato and Musashi are the largest battleships built in history. What can be opposed to Yamato? The answer, it would seem, is obvious and goes by itself - of course, well, of course, Iowa!

This answer, despite the apparent obviousness, will still be incorrect. Although the American Iowas had an impressive full speed of 33 knots, from a conceptual and design point of view they are in fact just elongated South Dakotas, with a power plant of increased power and slightly improved guns. However, in popular memory and thanks to films like “The Siege” and “Battleship,” the Iowa class ships are firmly in first place and are generally considered the best battleships in history. We tried to distance ourselves from emotional assessment ships, and take into account all the factors. What did we end up with? Here's what: the real rivals of the Yamato-class battleships were supposed to be ships of the Montana class.

Montana, with all her sixty thousand tons of standard displacement, four hundred and nine millimeters of waist, and twelve sixteen-inch guns, would have been a formidable opponent to the Yamato. That is why, having assessed the performance characteristics of the ships, we put Iowa at the ninth level, and Montana at the tenth level, on a par with Yamato.

Hello to all readers and subscribers of our blog about online games. The Gamebizclub team is in touch and today we will tell you about the best ships in World of Warships. These combat vehicles are the stuff of dreams not only for beginners, but also for experienced players. In this review, we will examine in detail both premium ships and representatives of the main development branches. It is quite possible that today you will be able to find the ship of your dreams among them.

From this article you will learn:

America

One of the main directions of shipbuilding in the United States in the 20th century was the creation of heavy ships with impressive air defense. In terms of firepower, American warships of that time were many times superior to their classmates of other nations. However, with all this, they were significantly behind the Japanese in terms of torpedo armament.

  • Cruisers

St. Louis (III level) – is popular not only among beginners, but also among experienced gamers. The combination of firepower and strong armor makes this cruiser perhaps the best ship at its tier. Along the sides there are as many as 14 sixteen-inch guns and 18 76 mm guns, providing continuous firing. In terms of combat effectiveness points, St. Louis can be compared to same-tier battleships. The disadvantages include the fact that the ship has almost completely no air defense. In addition, this cruiser is quite vulnerable to fragmentation shells battleships However, even taking into account all the shortcomings of St. Louis, we advise you to upgrade this particular ship at level 3.

Omaha (Level V) – for gamers who open the 5th level of the development tree for American cruisers, Omaha becomes a “pioneer” in several respects. It will delight players with the appearance on board of a gun turret and an aircraft catapult for a reconnaissance aircraft. The cruiser is a leader in its class in terms of firing range. And the presence of torpedo weapons gives it a significant advantage in close combat. Omaha – perfect option for farming silver. With relatively cheap content, it allows you to get up to 200,000 per battle even without a premium account.

Cleveland (VI tier) – in the history of the fleet, this type of cruiser is considered the most popular. The ship has four gun turrets, which house all of its guns. This design allows for targeted shooting at one specific target on board. Cleveland's main advantage is its incredibly powerful air defense for this level, turning it into the main threat to enemy aviation.

Atlanta (VII tier) – this premium cruiser occupies a special place in the line of elite ships of the American fleet. 16 incredibly fast-firing twin 127-caliber guns rain heavy fire on opponents, smashing to pieces everything that is not protected by a dense layer of armor. And his torpedo tubes can present a very unpleasant surprise to unwary battleships. The greatest effectiveness on Atlanta can be achieved in squadron combat.

Des Moines (X level) – 9 eight-inch cannons firing 10 salvoes per minute are business card this ship. It is not surprising that with such weapons he easily sends enemy ships to the bottom. This cruiser has no equal in duels. However, like other representatives of this class, it should stay away from enemy battleships.

  • Destroyers

Farragut (VI level) – worthy representative destroyer class with excellent performance and powerful weapons. Success in a direct collision is guaranteed if the enemy is a fairly light ship. Still, in terms of armor it is significantly inferior to same-tier cruisers and battleships. It is also worth noting that the air defense of this destroyer is good at shooting down enemy aircraft. And with enough ingenuity and skillful use of torpedoes in close combat, it can even fight with heavier enemy ships.

Sims (VII tier) – despite its lightness, this premium destroyer can repel not only ships of its class, but also armored cruisers. Amazing speed, impressive artillery and first-class maneuverability are three reasons why you should buy American destroyer Sims.

  • Battleships

North Carolina (VIII tier) - this masterpiece of American shipbuilding does not have the best armor for its class, however, due to this it demonstrates amazing mobility. In capable hands, the battleship North Carolina becomes an almost universal combat ship. Powerful air defense and impressive weapons allow it to effectively destroy enemy cruisers, battleships and aircraft. The only thing its captain has to fear is air raids and coordinated group attacks.

Montana (X lvl) – the battleship is interesting primarily because in reality the project to create it was never implemented. Still, this did not stop the developers from the Wargaming studio from giving him life in the vast gaming universe of World of Warships. In terms of characteristics, it can easily compete with the similar Japanese battleship Yamato. The Montana's leisurely speed is more than compensated for by its impenetrable armor and first-class weapons, represented by four three-gun mounts with a caliber of 406 mm.

  • Aircraft carriers

Independence (VI level) – unlike aircraft carriers of previous levels, this ship guarantees fairly comfortable gameplay. Its improved performance characteristics and significantly increased aircraft quality compared to its predecessors allow players to fully realize the potential of this class. Decent speed and powerful air defense allow the aircraft carrier to successfully evade enemy attacks. Playing the Independence would be even more enjoyable if it had more versatile weapons on board. But due to their small size, their number is reduced to two. Thus, the ship is unlikely to be suitable for close combat. But he doesn't need that.

Midway (X lvl) – this ship can be called the first and, in fact, the last “battleship aircraft carrier” of the United States Navy. Its armored flight deck can even withstand a bomb attack. And on board the ship carries one of the largest groups of aircraft presented in WoWS. Add to this good performance characteristics and reliable armor - and you get an almost ideal vehicle for destroying enemy ships.

Japan

The shipbuilders of the Land of the Rising Sun were distinguished by rather original thinking. Borrowing best ideas from their American and European colleagues, they were able to successfully combine them with their own developments and create a number of warships unique in their characteristics.

  • Cruisers

Kuma (IV tier) is a ship that has rightfully earned the title of one of the most controversial in the game. Despite its impressive armament for this level, high rate of fire and impeccable driving characteristics, it has a number of significant disadvantages that must be taken into account. These include insufficiently powerful air defense and low performance range. In general, we can say that Kuma is a ship for everyone. Although, this fact does not prevent him from remaining one of the most popular cruisers among WoWS players.

Yubari (IV tier) is a premium light cruiser that can cause a lot of trouble for aircraft carrier commanders. On board there were 16 anti-aircraft installations posing a serious threat to enemy aircraft. With an incredibly high speed of up to 35 knots, it has excellent maneuverability, which negates any enemy attempts to strike back. And for those who still doubt the combat potential of Yubari, we remind you that this cruiser is equipped with the most powerful 610 mm torpedoes among ships of its class.

Mogami (Tier VIII) – this cruiser can give a worthy rebuff not only to similar ships, but also to ships of more high levels. The presence of 15 rapid-firing 155 mm guns allows it to shower opponents with destructive heavy fire. Moreover, in the top configuration the caliber can be increased. True, the rate of fire will decrease slightly. It is also worth noting that, like any cruiser born in Japan, Mogami has torpedo tubes in its design, allowing it to successfully attack heavy ships.

Atago (Tier VIII) is another premium Japanese ship that combines mobility, durability and incredible combat power. This cruiser is a real gift for all fans of tactical improvisation. The versatility inherent in all ships of this class is brought to the maximum. In terms of survivability, Atago will leave any classmate behind. And its speed of 35 knots allows it to move almost on par with destroyers. Well, high-precision 203 mm caliber guns and powerful torpedo armament are the icing on the cake.

  • Destroyers

Minekaze (Level V) – it would seem that this ship is no different from the other destroyers of the Japanese line. It has the whole set of disadvantages typical for this line: thin armor, clumsy turrets, not the largest main caliber. However, the Minekaze has several key advantages that allow it to compete for the title of one of the most popular ships in World of Warships. Thanks to his amazing speed, he becomes almost elusive to enemies. And the powerful torpedo armament turns the Minekaze into a serious opponent for all ships.

Shimakaze (X lvl) is a destroyer capable of taking first place in terms of combat power among all ships presented in the game. Its arsenal includes three five-tube TAs equipped with the legendary Long Lance torpedoes. And improved boilers with high steam output allow this destroyer to reach speeds of up to 39 knots.

  • Battleships

Ishizuchi (Level IV) – premium battleship named after the high mountain western Japan, deserves special attention due to its unique design. Five gun turrets are very conveniently located on board, ensuring accurate and effective shooting. And thanks to its lightweight armor, Ishizuchi develops an incredible speed for a battleship - up to 28 knots.

Fuso (VI level) – playing on this ship gives you the opportunity to feel the full power of Japanese battleships. It is equipped with six gun turrets containing a total of 12 cannons. With such powerful weapons combined with impenetrable armor, Fuso can fight on equal terms even with battleships superior to its level.

Yamato (Lv. X) is the largest and most impressive battleship in the history of shipbuilding. A huge advantage over its opponents is given by the most powerful artillery in the game, represented by 480-caliber guns, and the most reliable side armor, protecting the battleship from enemy attacks at long and medium distances.

  • Aircraft carriers

Zuiho (Level V) is one of the lightest ships of this class, possessing an extensive air wing and deadly combat equipment. The weak protection of this Japanese aircraft carrier is fully compensated by its excellent performance.

Zuikaku (Tier VIII) - six aviation groups on board, atypical speed for this class and amazing maneuverability turn this aircraft carrier into the worst enemy of armored battleships. Even the most powerful air defense is sometimes unable to overcome the shock wave of Zuikaku.

USSR

The main distinguishing feature of the Soviet ship line in WoWS will be the absence of aircraft carriers. According to archival data, the declared historical period The USSR did not have ships of this class. Today, the branch of Soviet destroyers is fully implemented in the game. And among them special attention The following copies deserve:

Wrathful (V lvl) – a fast and maneuverable destroyer with almost cruising caliber. It will appeal to those who like to destroy enemy strongholds and hunt enemy cruisers. In open confrontation with identical ships of other nations, the Gnevny takes an advantageous position thanks to the presence of four 130-caliber guns on board. And in terms of speed, it is inferior, perhaps, to the nimble Japanese Minekaze.

Thundering (Level V) is a premium ship that has already won the recognition of players during the open beta test. It carries on board one of the most destructive weapons by destroyer standards: 130 mm cannons can successfully attack not only light enemy ships, but also impregnable battleships. Another undoubted advantage of the “Thundering” is the 8-kilometer torpedo range with a 7-kilometer detection range of the ship.

Kyiv (VII tier) - it is distinguished from other destroyers of the USSR branch by reinforced artillery, almost maximum speed and the presence on board of five-tube torpedo tubes. The ship is equipped with standard 130 mm guns for Soviet models. However, it is not the caliber that matters, but their number: three pairs of guns located in three turrets.

Our review will be incomplete if we ignore the most outstanding representatives of the classes of cruisers and battleships presented in the Soviet branch:

Aurora (III tier) - a legendary cruiser created during the tsarist era, fully reveals its combat potential in squadron battles. This premium ship is armed with 14 152-caliber guns, mercilessly destroying enemy destroyers and light cruisers with waves of high-explosive shells. And thanks to the increased profitability of the Aurora in loans, the owners of the cruiser can speed up their development and movement along the pumping branch.

Murmansk (V level) – another premium soviet ship, possessing powerful artillery and an impressive torpedo armament. High speed and maneuverability combined with a decent reserve of combat effectiveness makes players take a closer look at the Murmansk cruiser. The main disadvantages of the ship include weak armor, a vulnerable citadel and a high degree of visibility.

Emperor Nicholas I (IV level) – the last word in the construction of battleships Russian Empire. Unfortunately, the revolutionary events of 1917 did not allow this first-class battleship to enter service. However, the creators of WoWS gave him a chance to compete for the title of favorite among his “classmates.” “Emperor Nicholas I” can perform well even in confrontations with more advanced opponents due to its excellent armor and optimal placement of gun turrets.

Germany

The introduction of the German development branch into the game began with the appearance of a line of cruisers. According to the developers, the highlight of the ships of this nation will be the amazing survivability and rate of fire of the guns. We can judge how true these statements are based on the example of the best representatives of the German fleet available in WoWS at the moment:

Königsberg (Level V) is one of the brightest stars of the German branch. This is a versatile cruiser that can be an ideal second-line fighter.
