World of warships development branches of the USSR. World of Warships. A branch of Soviet cruisers. Tips for the game. World of Warships development branches

Alexey Levakov, producer.

However, the US Navy did not build specialized training cruisers, so we were faced with the question - what kind of ship can we oppose Katori? At the same time, our main task was to find a fairly universal ship with a relatively small displacement that could be compared to Katori. Quite a non-trivial task, I want to tell you. The solution was found: the gunboat Erie. She is, of course, inferior in displacement to Katori, but has more guns. large caliber, and also carries some kind of reservation. In addition, it has enough space on the upper deck to accommodate the location torpedo tubes(V alternative history, of course :))

However, Eri was not our most difficult decision. The most difficult and more than once rejected decision was which American ship would be able to give a worthy rebuff to the Japanese Yamato.

Let me remind you that the battleships Yamato and Musashi are the largest battleships built in history. What can be opposed to Yamato? The answer, it would seem, is obvious and goes by itself - of course, well, of course, Iowa!

This answer, despite the apparent obviousness, will still be incorrect. Although the American Iowas had an impressive full speed of 33 knots, from a conceptual and design point of view they are in fact just elongated South Dakotas, with a power plant of increased power and slightly improved guns. However, in popular memory and thanks to films like "The Siege" and " Sea Battle“Iowa-class ships are firmly in first place and are considered to be the best battleships in history. We tried to distance ourselves from emotional assessment ships, and take into account all the factors. What did we end up with? Here's what: the real rivals of the Yamato-class battleships were supposed to be ships of the Montana class.

Montana, with all her sixty thousand tons of standard displacement, four hundred and nine millimeters of waist, and twelve sixteen-inch guns, would have been a formidable opponent to the Yamato. That is why, having assessed the performance characteristics of the ships, we put Iowa at the ninth level, and Montana at the tenth level, on a par with Yamato.

We are talking about both special premium ships and gift varieties. The main thing is to keep track specifications, combat abilities, gun power.

How to view the assortment?

If you are interested in the full tree and development branches in World of Warships of ships, the developer suggests using a special mod, the task of which is to show even those positions that are not yet available. Now you can preview new nations, technical characteristics, and combat indicators. Such data is needed not just for information, but for choosing a strategy for the near future. You will answer the question: “Is it worth pumping up these branches, is there any prospects for this, is it necessary to develop ships in the chosen direction?”

A few examples

The ship development tree in World of Warships is different for each country. The USA and Japan have different approaches to the development of technology, in particular to protection and armor. American developers decided to use the “all or nothing” principle; the Japanese took a different route. The Germans also do not stand still; the ship development tree in World of Warships is regularly updated with new models, taking into account:

  • air defense and artillery power;
  • indicators of survivability and camouflage;
  • speed and maneuverability.

The RBK Games platform team will soon try to prepare branches for the development of ships in World of Warships for you.

2016 is gradually approaching its end, the main branches of this year have already seen the light of day, these are: Soviet and British cruisers, as well as German battleships. An alternative branch of Japanese destroyers should be released by the end of the year, but it cannot be called full-fledged; it will end at level 8. Probably in the future we will see ships of levels 9-10 in this branch, but when this will happen and what will be top is still very early to say.

And today I would like to focus my attention on those branches that await us next year. I’ll say right away that all the information I’ve presented is an exceptional reflection of varying degrees of imagination. No new branches have been officially announced, and it’s unlikely that anything should be expected before the end of the year.

So, we’ll start with the fact that now WoWS presents national branches of key naval countries from the period of the first and second world wars. Considering that many “nations” are now not complete, in 2017 I would expect mainly the addition of current nations with new branches of ships, and not the announcement of some new nations.

Germans

The Kriegsmarine really lacks a branch for full representation in World of Warships destroyers. Fortunately, there were actually quite a lot of ships of this class and making a branch out of them is not particularly difficult. Since the development of German destroyers was largely carried out sequentially, it would not be too difficult to assume a 9-10 level of the future German branch. They will become Zerstörer 1942 and Zerstörer 1944 are also known as Z-51 and Z-52 respectively.

Presumable 9th level of the German destroyer branch. Z-51

Estimated 10ka. Z-52.

According to officially confirmed information, the branch has already been modeled and is awaiting configuration and testing. So, right now, when you are reading these lines, Leste is addressing issues of “uniqueness” new branch" One can only hope that the Germans will be spared by what is being demonstrated in Lately"elfism". The branch should be expected next winter.

Adviсe

Here, too, everything is quite prosaic. The Soviets are desperately short of branches battleships, and quite a few players are rightfully waiting for this very branch.

However, there were quite expected difficulties with it. The fact is that Russia’s own “iron” battleships are ending in decline Russian Empire. In the USSR, the construction of new battleships began only in 1938, so that later, in October 1940, construction was frozen and then finally cancelled.

Accordingly, a hole is formed between the middle levels and the “tops”, which can only be plugged with “napkins and paper” of varying degrees of plausibility. This is one of the reasons why the branch of Soviet battleships has not yet seen the light of day.

It’s worth saying a few words about what awaits us at the top of the thread. Quite expectedly, this will be Project 23 " Soviet Union", created at one time with the aim of outstuffing Iowa. And in its time, it really could have become one of the most perfect battleships. If only it had been completed.

However, at level 10, to fight the Yamatami and Grosser Kurfürsts, Project 23 with 9,406 mm guns is frankly no longer suitable and they use wishful thinking and tampering, which can be called Project 24. Compared to its predecessor, the caliber of guns and displacement will greatly increase. The general layout will remain unchanged - 3 turrets, 3 guns each, but the caliber will be 457 mm. Presumably, the key feature of the Soviets will remain the same - excellent ballistics.

What stage the Soviet battleships are currently at is officially unknown.

In addition, some rumors suggest that the councils will have an alternative branch destroyers, fortunately, there were many ships of this class in the USSR. Moreover, the existing branch consists for the most part not of destroyers, but of “leaders”. Unfortunately, there are no specifics about the new branch at the moment, so the likelihood of its appearance in 2017 is not very high.

Americans

America is a full-fledged nation in the Air Force and it doesn’t seem to be in a hurry for new ships. However, it was previously announced several times that Cleveland would sooner or later “leave” from level 6 somewhere to an alternative branch.

Lately, however, such conversations have been practically unheard of, but the Internet remembers everything. And in a recent interview with the developer, the American branch was clearly mentioned light cruisers. Where Cleveland actually suggests itself. In addition, few people remember that the American 10ka - Worcester - already appeared in the client. At that time, it was not said why the hell it was modeled, and since then this ship has been lying there awaiting its fate. And there really aren’t many options here - either a promotional ship for all sorts of clans and other activities, or the fate of the top of the new branch of light cruisers.

American cruiser tier 10 Worcester.

British

A full-fledged branch of British ships has only recently appeared in World of Warships. It took the Queen of the Seas a relatively long time to get to the game, and the inaccessibility of English archives played a significant role in this. In the new year we should expect the replenishment of this nation with new branches and the first in line will most likely be battleships.

Throughout its turbulent history, Britain churned out battleships literally in batches, quite a few important role It also plays out that it was in England that battleships (dreadnoughts) were born in the form in which they existed until the end of the war. The only difficulty is that by the end of the war, the “Englishwoman” was greatly “blown away”. The last battleship of this nation to enter service is the Vanguard, which is at most level 8. Accordingly, some kind of paper traditionally awaits us at the top of the future branch.

Estimated level 8 British branch battleships - Vanguard.

You will be able to admire the new line of battleships in the game no earlier than the summer of 2017.

WITH destroyers there is no clarity at all. It is obvious that there will be a branch of British destroyers in the Armed Forces, but whether this will happen in 2017 is unknown.

French people

Already represented in the game by the Dunkirk-class battleship. And it is most likely that in 2017 this nation will be supplemented with some kind of upgradeable branch of ships. However, there is currently little information on this matter; the French traditionally have problems with tops, so it’s hard to even estimate future class a new branch is very difficult.

Let's summarize

At the moment, Lesta is trying to maintain the pace of one new branch for three months, so in 2017 we expect 4 new branches. Most likely these will be: German destroyers, Soviet battleships, British battleships, and either American cruisers or some French ones.

In conclusion, it is worth repeating that all of the above is not an official announcement, but only a small introduction to the topic of future branches. Time will tell what these branches will actually be like.

Which nations and branches in WoWS are you most looking forward to? Have your say in the comments!

UPD: There will most likely be no Soviet battleships in 2017. :(And the next branch will most likely be German destroyers.

First mentions of game World of Warships sounded back in 2011. Then the Wargaming company, inspired by the success of its World of Tanks project, promised to move fighting to water spaces. And four years later, a new MMO action game is undergoing beta testing. Players will take part in military battles on combat ships, consolidating their positions and developing their fleet. WoWs uses a Free-to-play distribution method and thus anyone can try it.

Gameplay

The gameplay of World of Warships will be quite familiar to all tank fans. The player has at his disposal a hangar with several slots for the ships he has purchased. Each ship has its own captain with a certain set of characteristics that influence the success of actions in battle. In the hangar, a ship is selected for the upcoming mission, new technical modules are installed, repairs are made, and a new mission is selected.

For participation in hostilities, and especially for victory over the enemy, experience points are awarded. In this case, experience is of two types: points for a specific ship that completed the task, and general points for the entire account. The first type is necessary for upgrading a warship and installing new modules, and the second for improving any ship in the hangar. By the way, as in many online games, pumping is available for real money converted into virtual credits.

The captains' skills also develop, and they themselves can be transferred from one ship to another, but for this they will have to relearn how to control a certain type of ship. With the maximum upgrade of equipment, the ship goes into the elite category, and all the experience points it earns go into the general fund or to accelerate the development of the captain’s characteristics.

The game has several modes and a set of different missions that can be completed alone or by joining a group. As a rule, the main tasks of a battle group are to capture a target point (fortress or island) or destroy all enemy ships. And often, it is necessary to do both. There are also some unusual missions, such as "Supremacy": you need to score the maximum number of points by capturing and holding specific territories while maintaining the maximum number of allied ships.

Ship classes in World of Warships

The player can choose from the following 4 classes of ships:

1. Destroyers.

Light and small-sized vessels, differing high speed and maneuverability. Due to their small dimensions, they cannot be equipped with many guns, so they do not have great fire potential, as well as armor. However, small size has its advantages - destroyers are quite a difficult target. In addition, they are equipped with underwater torpedoes that can cause significant damage to enemy ships. And to cover themselves and their allies, destroyers use smoke screens.

2. Battleships.

Heavy armored warships equipped with numerous powerful weapons. And although they do not have great speed, impact force These ships are capable of creating a lot of trouble for the enemy. Strong armor and survivability allow them for a long time stand fire.

3. Cruisers.

These ships occupy an intermediate position between destroyers and battleships. They are quite fast and at the same time have a good set of guns in their arsenal. They have more armor than destroyers, and, like the latter, their list of weapons is complemented by torpedoes.

4. Aircraft carriers.

Huge aircraft carriers do not have high firepower, their speed does not allow them to evade pursuit or overtake the enemy, and their armor will not be able to withstand direct attacks for long. Their main purpose is to transport and control air groups. There are 3 types of aircraft on the ship's platform: bombers, torpedo bombers and fighters. Bombers come close to enemy ships and drop bombs on them - the damage is small, but it is very difficult to dodge these shells. Torpedo bombers inflict more serious damage with volleys of their missiles, but the chance of a miss when fired is quite high. Fighters have a different task - destroying enemy aircraft and covering their air groups.

World of Warships development branches

During the beta test of World of Warships and by the time of the official release, only two development branches will be available to the player. In the future, the developers plan to introduce more nationalities of warships, but for now you can choose either American or Japanese ships.

Each branch has its own distinctive features, which begin to become more and more visible as you progress through the game. Comparing the same classes of ships of different branches, one can note tangible differences. For example, Japanese destroyers have the best torpedoes in terms of range and power, but US ships are noticeably stronger. American cruisers have significant armor protection, good artillery pieces and air defense, in the process of development they abandon torpedoes and high levels more like "light battleships". The Japanese, on the contrary, at the expense of armor and air defense, supply their cruisers with the maximum number of weapons and torpedoes. The US Navy owns the most powerful aircraft carrier, the Midway, which carries more than a hundred aircraft on board - Japanese ships of this class cannot oppose it with similar equipment. However, the Imperial Navy has at its disposal the unique battleship Yamato with the largest maneuvering area, the highest armor-piercing power and survivability. According to the developers, the Yamato can only be opposed to another Yamato; the Americans do not have such a vessel.

Considering the characteristics of ships of different branches, the gameplay for each side will also differ. Playing as the Americans, you can choose a fairly simple battle tactic: take a comfortable position and, counting on good armor ships, shoot the enemy from powerful guns. The US Navy successfully defeats the enemy using brute force firepower. The Japanese cannot afford long firefights - their armor and weak air defense are not able to provide sufficient protection. The main principle of playing for Japan is an unexpected powerful attack and retreat. Their strength lies in torpedoes and massive salvoes from all guns in a short period of time.

Controls and combat in World of Warships

In terms of gaming, the ship is controlled using both the keyboard and the mouse. On the one hand, nothing complicated, but in reality the player may encounter some difficulties. The fact is that each specific ship has its own nuances in control: different sets of speeds, different rotation of the steering wheel, different mass and dimensions. In addition to this, the inertia of the vessel must always be taken into account. When moving through water, you cannot suddenly brake or turn around. Therefore, the player will have to calculate all his actions in advance in order to avoid getting caught. enemy shells or simply not run aground.

Accordingly, battles in each class of ship also take place differently. The destroyer constantly changes course and tries to successfully launch torpedoes, after which it quickly retreats or hides behind rocks, simultaneously releasing smoke to cover its group. The cruiser strives to get closer to shoot the enemy without getting under heavy fire. The battleship takes a confident position and fires cannon salvoes at the ships from a distance. An aircraft carrier has a more stressful situation - it needs to constantly manage several air groups and at the same time take into account the changing arrangement of ships on the map in order to move to a safe position in time. Playing as aircraft carriers has the greatest tactical component, while other classes are more action-oriented.

Each vessel has its own task, its place in the group. It is important to act coherently and effectively as a team to win naval battles.

Walkthrough of the game and its features

In the process of completing missions, you gain the necessary experience to increase the level of your entire account. This non-standard software solution is a pleasant highlight of World of Warships. Increasing the level opens up access to new types of battles and more complex missions, and additional ships become available. High-level accounts receive more prizes for completing tasks. As the user progresses through the game, he unlocks more and more ships and missions, the technical sophistication of the fleet grows, and its participation in group missions becomes more valuable.

The gameplay has a lot of pretty interesting features. Battles on the water do not proceed monotonously and predictably. An unexpectedly successful hit on an important part of the ship can decide the outcome of the battle in a few seconds.

A system of modular damage to ships has been implemented, in which not only their overall “health” is reduced, but also individual pieces of equipment fail. An interesting point is the ability to repair the ship right during the mission. The ship is equipped with a special repair system - its use is limited, but it can really save the situation.

There are no complaints about the graphical component: the glare of the sun on the water, waves, wind, fire on ships - everything, as expected, was perfectly executed. And, of course, the highest detail of combat ships - business card developers Wargaming. All the smallest elements are visible, and when upgrading, the “filling” of the deck changes. High-quality graphics combined with excellent gameplay leave a very pleasant impression of the game.

Beautiful and thoughtful World of Warships will appeal to all fans of online war games.
