Yelets railway. Depot and station Yelets (Lipetsk region) Yelets railway technical school official

In the repair shop of the TChE-14 depot Yelets Severny.

Yelets is a major railway junction in central Russia. Two railway lines intersect here, one of which goes from Moscow to the south of the center of Russia and further to the east of Ukraine, the other connects the Volga region with the western part of the Russian Federation, the Baltic countries and Belarus. There is another inactive line to Lev Tolstoy station. There is talk about the possible conservation of this line, but for now there are rail buses for local residents.

Yelets railway station. I ran through the station in a glimpse, because the main goal was to visit the depot Yelets - Severny. To be honest, I did not notice any particularly heavy traffic during my 2-hour stay at the Yelets station.

Railways passing through the territory of the modern Lipetsk region were built in the second half of the 19th century. The construction of the Kozlov line (now Michurinsk - Voronezh) dates back to 1866-1868; in 1869, lines to Yelets and Borisoglebsk stretched from the Gryazi station of the Kozlovo-Voronezh railway, which became part of the Orlovo-Gryazi-Tsaritsynskaya road.

In 1890, a line was laid from the Bogoyavlensk Ryazano-Kozlovskaya railway station to the Astapovo station (now Leo Tolstoy), from which the roads ran in three directions - to Lebedyan, Dankov and Troyekurovo. In 1891, these lines were united under the leadership of the Ryazan-Ural Railway Society. The line Astapovo - Lebedyan was extended to Yelets, in 1899 the railway from Dankovo was brought to Smolensk. In 1896, the Yelets-Kastornaya line was laid.

In 1964, the main line Michurinsk-Voronezh, passing through the territory of the Lipetsk region, was electrified, and in 1966 the lines Bogoyavlensk - Gryazi and Gryazi - Novolipetsk underwent electrification.

In the second half of the 1980s, work began on laying the second tracks and electrifying the Yelets - Gryazi section, completed in 1990. In 1992 - 97, the Yelets - Kastornaya Novaya line was electrified

In 1998, a 30-kilometer branch line connecting the Lev Tolstoy station with the Troekurovo station on the Ranenburg-Pavelets line was mothballed and later dismantled.

In the station building. The guard did not object to me taking a photo.

Freight fleet of Yelets station.
The direction to Moscow has not yet been electrified. Electrification goes east towards Lipetsk and Gryazi, as well as south to Valuyki and further to Ukraine. The direction to Orel - Bryansk - Smolensk is also on diesel traction.

I can't imagine such a stand at our Kyiv Darnitsa or, for example, in Kazatin. But the South Western Road was also built in the same years and in the same country.

Rossoshansky EP1M. The Rossosh TChE-3 depot is the main one on the South-Eastern road for the operation of these passenger electric locomotives. Like our Kyiv PM-1 (Kyiv - Pass). The shoulder of the work of the Rossosh locks (I wonder what nickname EP1M came up with?. For example, it reminds me a little of a soap dish) is simply huge. It captures four roads: Moscow, South-Eastern, Volga and North Caucasian. From Ryazan to the Caucasus and from the Volga region to eastern Ukraine.

And here is the main goal of my excursion. Very good and hospitable people in Yelets, in addition to taking me around the city by car, also organized an excursion to the locomotive depot. With one condition - to photograph without a flash, all the same, work is going on in the shops. Therefore, not all pictures came out of perfect quality.
I was absolutely delighted! I am at home in Ukraine and did not dream of penetrating into such a place, but here in another state.

Diesel locomotives.
76 units of TEP70 are assigned to the Yelets Severny depot, and they are the main profile machine for this depot. And another 41 pieces of shunting ChME3, 9 pieces of 2TE116. There are also 2 pcs VL80K.
76 pieces of TEP70, these are all diesel locomotives of this series available on the South Eastern Road. There are still TEP70BS on this road, but they are all assigned to the Rtishchevo depot (Saratov region)

2TE116 "Fantomas"

Pistons from a diesel engine. Weigh decently

Diesel hulls.
I'm not an expert, so I can be wrong in some terms.

Locomotive crankshaft. Impressive!

Some other shop. I just forgot what they told me about him. Can anyone clarify?

There.

Rtishchevsky "slipper" TEP70BS, swollen and without a diesel engine. Impressive wheels with traction electric motors

TEP70BS is a modern modification of the veteran TEP70. Produced at the Kolomna plant from 2002 to the present day. 185 cars were produced. 24 vehicles are assigned to the Rtishchevo depot.

Cool slogan.

Wheels and carts. I had no idea that the wheeled cart was actually so huge.

Giant lathe for wheel pairs.

Plague over the pit.

And what about terrorism? This is not a train station.

The shops are impressive. Just like a whole factory.

Mechanical shop.

"Slippers" from another road - from Privolzhskaya (Volgograd depot). Volgograd have a characteristic green color.

Monument to the locomotive.

Another guest from Volgograd, and he is TEP70BS from Rtishchevo.

Some other body

Decommissioned diesel locomotive, previously assigned to the Oktyabrskaya road.

ChME3 from Kochetovka (Michurinsk). Probably arrived for repairs, because it is not a dipped beam for a shunting diesel locomotive.

It looks like the "slipper" that pulled our train from Kursk to Voronezh three days earlier.

An old man VL80K with a preserved emblem of the USSR Railway, which is used for auxiliary purposes. He does not carry the main service.
Here, on the South West, the VL80K is the main workhorse of the cargo service.

And here is the Yelets PTOL (Locomotive Maintenance Point). This is not a repair facility and cars from other depots or even roads that are in circulation are serviced here.
Shunting ChMEZ prepared to push electric locomotives EP1M into the PTOL

3-section VL80S (Liski depot) with an interesting number. By the way, who knows why almost all Liskin VL80s are 3-section?

"Fantomas" in the pit in the PTOL.

But for this, the Chmukha brigade probably received a hat from the depot employee accompanying me. Rossoshansky EP1M-676 is being pushed into the PTOL, and at the same time, no one controlled the presence of people in front of the pushed locomotive. Past us, albeit slowly, swept this huge colossus.

Slipper (TEP70) over the repair pit.

And here is the museum rarity TEP60 with a downed number. His place is in the museum, but I'm afraid they will cut it into scrap metal.
That would be in the Kyiv Museum. But in Ukraine, it seems they are not left at all.

Yelets is a junction station. Routes to Oryol, Smolensk, Volgograd, Ozherelye pass through it. There are trains from St. Petersburg and Belarus to Anapa and Adler. Just when I was wandering near the station, a diesel locomotive was being changed for an electric locomotive at the Minsk-Anapa train. It was this train that did not allow me to photograph the southern facade of the station. some of the tracks are electrified, some are not, because there is a wide variety of all kinds of locomotives. But this is not what prompted me to write on the railway theme.
The fact is that the first railway school in Russia is located in Yelets. The building was built in eclectic style and looks like a palace.

The first railway line in Russia was built in 1837, and the first railway school in 1869. For 32 years, people without special education worked on the railway.

2.

In those years, engineers of communications were most in demand, and, perhaps, also mining engineers. But engineers were not trained here.
3.

The building was built at the expense of the person who financed the construction of the Oryol-Gryazinsky railway, Samuil Polyakov. The school was named Alexandrovsky - in honor of the Russian Emperor Alexander II - the Liberator.
4.

5. Remains of former luxury.

6.

Now the building is used according to its original profile, as one of the educational buildings of the railway technical school.
7. The new building of the technical school is also quite pompous.

8. Portico with columns.

9. Statues.

But I like the old building better. It would be better to put it in order.

10. Next to the old school is the management of the Yelets distance of the South-Eastern Railway.

From the side of the city there is some kind of station square with two squares. In one park there is a monument to Vermishev - the Red Commissar, tortured to death by evil White Guards somewhere in this area. And the station square bears his name.
11.

12. And there is also a public garden with a monument to Lenin in the pose "well, it didn't work out ..."

Well, now let's go to the railroad itself.
Wikipedia says: "In 1874, the Uzlovaya-Yelets section of the Syzran-Vyazemskaya railway was built. A station of the same name and a car depot appeared in Yelets. The building of the railway station, the depot and several barracks for railway employees have survived to this day."
But something confuses me with the date 1874. If in 1868 there was already a depot and a school, then by that time there should have been a railway!
The station in Yelets, in my opinion, is located very unsuccessfully. We rented an apartment near the station, and had the opportunity to enjoy the night sounds of train formation. But when I decided to go and see in the morning, it took me more than 20 minutes to get there.
And the station building itself is behind the shunting tracks. From Privokzalnaya Street you have to cross a bridge half a kilometer long, and then the same length along the tracks. And this is from the outskirts of not the most central area.
But from the bridge you can see a lot of interesting things.
13. One of the oldest station buildings.

Even from the bridge it is difficult to photograph it.
14. And it is the same age as Lenin.

15. This is the sorting hill from which frightening sounds were heard at night.

16. Among the accumulation of iron, a willow somehow survived.

17. Somewhere in the middle of the way (on the bridge) there is a locomotive-monument Em-735-12.

18. To see it closer, you have to go down. From the side of the station it is not visible at all.

19. The locomotive depot in Yelets is one of the oldest in our country. It turns 150 this year!

20. It contains the largest fleet of passenger diesel locomotives TEP70 and TEP70BS on Russian Railways

21. Yes, there are many diesel locomotives here - good and different. If you launch any lover of this type of technology here, then consider that he is gone.

22. Both main and shunting. Locomotives are also being overhauled. Not only "their own", but also from other railways.

Already sweating, I approached the station.
23. The lawn is separated from the sidewalk by a pretty fence.

24. The station building itself was built in 1910.

25. Northern facade.

Education and a profession is something that is difficult to do without in the modern world, because whatever one may say, you need to comprehend the basics of science, after which you should take a more adult path by enrolling in an educational institution to obtain the desired profession. Recently, many schoolchildren are thinking about entering educational institutions after the ninth grade. And here the world of secondary technical specialties opens up in institutions of secondary technical education, one of which is the Yelets College of Railway Transport.

Railway technical school Yelets

The railway technical school of Yelets takes its history from 1940. At that time, the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR decided to open a railway school No. 2 for 60 people, which would train railway workers.

Already in 1955, the school became a vocational school, and since 1968 it has been a technical school No. 2. The school has evolved and expanded. And if at first it could accept only 60 students, then in 2003 more than five hundred people are already studying here.

Since 2007, the school has received a new status and is called a professional lyceum, which since 2014 has received a new name, and now it is the Yelets Railway Technical School of Operation and Service.
