How to make an Instagram banner. We place a large picture on our profile. Links in account description. Save other people's photos

Hello, today we will learn how to make a banner for your Instagram.

What is a banner? An Instagram banner is a photograph or image cut into several parts, which are then published on an Instagram profile and look like a whole photograph or image.

Probably many have seen it in other users’ profiles big photo or an inscription made up of several parts, which looks pretty cool, but not everyone knows how to do it.

Everyone realized that we just need to cut the image into 3, 6, 9, etc. equal parts(a multiple of 3), the main thing is that the width of the image is divided into 3 parts, since an Instagram profile displays 3 photos in width, the height can be different - that is, this is the number of lines.

We will look at how we can cut a photo into equal parts in an aspect ratio of 1 to 1, so that we can do this.

First, let's look at how to do this from a personal computer.
There is such a wonderful and unremarkable site on the Internet http://picslice.com/
In fact, this is the only site that we found that can do everything we need for an Instagram banner - crop the image into equal parts. All this can be done online.

Our actions:

  • We must have a prepared image on the PC that we will cut.
  • It is desirable that it is already square, otherwise we will have to first crop the photo in an aspect ratio of 1 to 1;
  • Go to picslice.com;
  • Click on the “select file” button;
  • Click the “upload” button;
  • Then, at the top above the downloaded photo that appears, click “Slice picture”;
  • Enter Vertical Slice value “3” - height (set how many parts the photo will be cut vertically);
  • Enter the Horizontal Slice value “3” - width, there should always be the number 3 (we set how many parts the photo will be cut into horizontally);
  • Click the “Generate” button;
  • We see the result - a cut picture into pieces;
  • Let's move on to saving;
  • You can download all the pieces of the image by clicking on the link Download ZIP (ALL SLICES), all images will be in a ZIP archive;
  • Or download in parts; to do this, right-click on each part of the image and save all parts in one place;
  • We throw all parts of the cut image into mobile phone or a tablet with the Instagram application installed for further publication;
  • We place the parts, the main thing here is not to get confused! The file name of a part of the picture begins with a number, so we have 9 pictures and all of them are marked with a certain number;
  • Now we post the 9th picture first on our Instagram, then the 8th, etc. We end with the 1st picture.

An important detail before placing a banner (large picture) must be in your profile total quantity publications of photographs are a multiple of 3. This is necessary so that all parts of the picture are displayed correctly and do not jump in the lines. The number of publications is written at the top of your profile, or you can simply scroll down all your photos and make sure you don’t have free space at the bottom of your profile feed.

Example, here we are missing one more image, that is, we need to add one publication or delete two previously posted ones.

And so this is what we got! Quite beautiful and creative, now when a person comes to your profile, he will see such beauty.

Now that you have learned how to make an Instagram banner, you can say this: in a complicated way, let's consider another method, which is much simpler.

Let's go to Google Play if you have an Android mobile phone or tablet, for iOS users, you need to go to Apple App Store. Then, in the search, we enter the query “Instagramm banner”, we find applications that can do what we need.

We see the search result, the first 4 applications are suitable for our needs. Let’s install for testing what is higher in the ranking, called “Giant Square #1”

Now let's see how to use it:

  • After launch, we are asked to choose social network, naturally we choose Instagram.
  • On the second screen after launch, we are asked to choose what we want to do. It turns out that the application can also make a collage of photos, but we don’t need this and we click on the first picture where it says “Giant Square”.
  • On the third screen, we need to do three things
  1. select the area, pictures, which “cubes” will be created from the future image, put a check mark on the required pieces.
  2. Load an image from the gallery or take a new photo, click on the “Use” button
  3. Post it by clicking on the “Share” button.
  • Posting is more convenient, click on “Upload”, then the Instagram application launches and we post the first piece of the image. After, we again need to go to the “Giant Square” application, now the next piece with the inscription “Ready” will be displayed in the queue for placement, click “Upload” again, do this until we have uploaded all parts of the photo.
  • You can simply click on the button and save all parts of the photo.

This is all in theory, we never managed to do it to the end. The application began to close spontaneously and become terribly slow. So we don't recommend it.

Installing another application - TRYPTpic

We are pleasantly surprised, everything is easier and faster here. Now we know that first we need to try using different applications.

Everything is simple and clear here:

  • Upload a photo;
  • Choose a cutting option, for example 3x3;
  • Click “Crope”;
  • We save all parts to the smartphone’s memory
  • Or we post parts of photos from the TRYPTpic application;
  • Click on the Instagram icon;
  • For ease of publication, all parts are numbered in the right order accommodation;
  • Click on 1 picture and post it on your Instagram;
  • We repeat the cycle until the last part.

Hooray! We managed to post a large photo in just a couple of minutes!

Subscribers look at photos not only in the feed, but also in accounts. To stand out from others, some users use the large picture technique. They take a large image, which is cut into small ones. It turns out to be such a joke, like this Micah404.

3. Links in account description

Now I’ll say a banality, but in publications, even if you insert a link, it will not be clickable. And if your PR person requires you to insert links, change your place of work or PR person. These are sick people, they can come up with something else wild.

Work with a webmaster, have him register a short domain for your site, and set up a redirect to the main site through the short domain. Let’s say you have a flower shop with the address cvetoteka.ru, short domain cvet.ok. Now on Instagram you can post a shortened page for some bouquet, for example, cvet.ok/rose.

4. Your own list of filters

Now there are over 40 filters on Instagram! I use 2. To clear the workspace, I can hide the filters, or change the order of the filters to a more convenient one.

Pinch the filter and drag it to a more convenient location or delete...

or scroll to the bottom of the list of filters and select Edit.

5.Filter intensity

You can get amazing results by clicking on the filter and changing the filter intensity. In addition, in this mode you can add a frame.

6. Edit your photo

If you don't like any filter, you can use fine editing. In filter selection mode, click "Edit".

7. Draft on Instagram

When you apply a filter to an image and want to go back, Instagram will offer to save the post to drafts. I made two drafts in the evening, and published them in the morning and at lunchtime.

8. Disable comments

Before posting, scroll down and click "Advanced Settings". Turn off the comment. Now your photo only gets likes. Convenient if you are constantly bombarded with spam comments.

9. Monitor posts from your favorite users

First subscribe to required account, then click on the settings button, and select “Enable post notifications”. If you have 2000 - 3000 subscriptions, such a button will help you not to miss really important publications. Also, this function can be used to monitor competitors or guard their comments and steal leads.

10. History of likes

You can always find a list of those posts that have been liked. This is how I check the quality of the mass liking service.

Go to your account settings, swipe down to “Posts you liked.”

11. Bookmarks

When I first learned photography, I would take hundreds of screenshots to capture an impressive shot. Now Instagram has bookmarks, and taking screenshots is not necessary.

12. Clear search history

By default, Instagram stores your search queries. If you were looking for a gift for your wife, and are afraid that your surprise will be revealed through the search, you can clear your search history and no one will find anything =)

Click on your account settings and scroll down to Clear Search History.

13. Subscription activity

Since ancient times, it has been possible to find out what your followers have liked, commented on, or followed. But few people use this to analyze their target audience. This way you can understand what your target audience likes, what’s trending now, and adapt your content plan.

In the notifications tab, click on “Subscriptions” and analyze the activity of subscriptions. This way you can find subscriptions that use mass following.

14. Multiacc

This is my favorite Instagram update of 2016. Now I can sit and monitor notifications, comments and messages from five accounts at the same time. Unfortunately, when you have five accounts connected, the application sometimes glitches and resets an account's password or displays private messages and notifications in one account from another.

In your account settings, find the “Add account” item, enter the login and password for the new account, and switch between accounts by clicking the avatar icon in the lower right corner of the application.

15. Share a link to an interesting publication with friends

16. Photo preview

When you're looking at someone's account, long-pressing on a post brings up the "preview" mode.

17. Enlarging a photo

Previously, it was impossible to see small details on the screen? Expand the post with two fingers.

18. Save photos

Sometimes you need to quickly pull out a photo that you recently posted on Instagram. Enable the “Save photos” and “Save videos” settings in your account settings.

19. Save other people's photos

SMMers should use user-generated content to improve their brand reputation. There are three ways to use a subscriber photo.

    Download the image via the page code. Right-click on the page with the publication → select “View page code” → press “Ctrl+F” → start typing “jpg” → copy the first line that is highlighted. This will be a direct link to the high quality image.

20. More than one filter per photo

Sometimes, the desired visual effect can only be achieved by applying several filters. To do this, first apply one of the filters. Then turn on Airplane mode and post a photo. You won’t be able to publish it, but the photo you want will be saved in the gallery; you need to apply a new filter to it.

21. Business account

Business accounts on Instagram were introduced recently, not everyone is still used to them, but there are already various myths:

  • The coverage of publications is decreasing.
  • The likelihood of getting into the Top by geo and hashtag is reduced.
  • People are afraid of business accounts and leave them for normal accounts.

The SMM specialist must decide whether to transfer a regular account to a business account, I made my choice.

22. Clean up spam comments

The number of comments increases ER and, hypothetically, this is good for the account in the era of algorithmic feeds. Only spam comments with a job offer can spoil the entire impression of your account. It is better to delete such comments.

You can delete any comment on any post. I don't recommend deleting negativity. A properly processed negative comment sells like 4-5 good reviews.

23. Automatically control comments

If you're fed up with fake accounts spamming your account, or you don't allow swearing on your account, you can set up automatic checking of comments by keys.

Every time I get a flood of spam comments, I select keywords and add them to the list of prohibited comments.

24. Remove or hide tags on photos

Sometimes you need to remove some photos from your “self photo”, this is especially true for large brands that are constantly tagged in photos.

Go to “Photos of me” → select an unwanted photo → click on the tag → “Remove tag” you remove the tag from the photo; if you move the slider, the photo will not be displayed in “Photos of me” but the tag will remain.

25. Paragraphs or how to indent texts

Everything you write on Instagram can be held against you! Therefore, instead of readable text, you can get a sheet of letters.

To prevent this from happening, there should be no sign after the dot. Emoticons, spaces, letters, dashes, brackets are signs. Helps you compose text in notes or a notepad, and then paste it into Instagram. But it’s easier and faster to use our service. It doesn't break up lines and paragraphs don't slip.

26. Video with different scenes

You can create real sketches and meaningful videos using just the video camera app inside Instagram. It’s not as professional as inviting a videographer and shooting a video in six months, but it’s quick.

We pressed the shooting key, captured the desired scene, and pressed the key. You can continue filming further.

27. Video without sound

By default, videos on Instagram are broadcast without sound. If you were filming in natural conditions where there was a lot of unnecessary noise, better sound disable.

28. Change video cover

Click on the invisible “Cover” button in the filter selection mode and select the appropriate cover for the video. You can upload your own video cover to SMMplanner.

29. Selection of hashtags

As long as there is a myth that hashtags help promote a brand, any tools for searching and selecting hashtags will be relevant. In the Instagram search, enter one hashtag, and Instagram itself will suggest others with which this hashtag is often used.

30. Photos from archives in Instagram stories

Instagram stories were conceived as an alternative to Snapchat, so that only mobile content could be uploaded to Instagram here and now. Luckily, you can download cool photos to your phone and then use them in stories.

To do this, take old photograph and edit it in any graphic editor. After this, the photo's creation date will be updated.

Go to stories and swipe up from the bottom of the screen, photos and videos taken within 24 hours will appear.

31. Built-in Boomerang

Boomerang is an app that helps you create looping GIFs. In one of the recent Instagram updates, the developers integrated a boomerang into stories. Now you can remove Boomerang from your phone and use Instagram.

We went into history and selected the Boomerang button.

32. Stories for the elite

Post Instagram stories to your favorite people.

33. Hide stories from favorites

You can not only show stories only to selected accounts, but also hide them from other prying eyes. To do this, you need to go to your account settings and stories settings, in the story settings select those people to whom you do not need to show stories.

34. Additional colors in stories

Select text or brush. A palette will appear at the bottom of the screen. By holding down one of the colors, the expanded palette panel will open.

35. As many stickers and text as you like in Instagram stories

Press the sticker or text key. Insert, increase the size, change the position, and press the sticker or text key again. This way you can build various wonderful structures.

36. Tags in Instagram stories

Just start entering the target account login via @

37. Save stories to the gallery

If you use boomerangs, then stickers, then brushes, you can get a cool story that you'll want to save to your phone.

38. Skip boring and uninteresting stories

If you end up on a line of 25 identical photos, feel free to skip. Double-clicking on a story will skip one scene from the account's history, and swiping will take you to the next story.

Olya Botulinskaya, Lena Sharlaimova, Zhannet Pravdyuk, Anya Lobanova - Ukrainian Instagram photographers talk about how to take beautiful and high-quality photographs.

More than half of success on Instagram depends on photos. Even if you love to write and promote yourself through text, add bright photos It’s worth it to attract users’ attention to the post.

@ol_botulinska

Photography has always been in my life. I took selfies for VKontakte avatars even before it became mainstream.

Probably, if Instagram had existed when I first picked up a camera, I would have been a mega-famous blogger on this network.

I have no special education from photography, but there is an artistic one, which probably tells me how best to frame the frame and set the composition.

Instagram photography is what my love for photography evolved into when my smartphone beat my old camera in a competition for image quality.

A good Instagram photo requires an idea. Then - processing. A sense of composition is not the main thing on Instagram, because this network is created for creativity.

Photos that do not follow all the rules may catch more attention than the “correct” photo.

If you don't know how to take good photos, I recommend following people who really do. Analyze their work and try to do it your own way. There is no limit to perfection. I myself am still learning how to photograph objects.

Even if there is no time, but to do it quick photo If you want, my advice is to take pictures. I always take photos, but I don’t always post them on my profile. I'm too careful with details. But “stories” saves. You can publish there without fear or worry.

There are no photo taboos on Instagram, but I have this rule: I never post a photo right away. I believe that a photo taken in a hurry will not give good result and response.

For processing, I most often use Snapseed and VSCO (filters A6, A8, set E, S2). And also Photoshop, less often Polarr and PicsArt.

Once upon a time, Instagram may have been just for photos. But in Lately I increasingly notice that people just don’t have enough beautiful pictures.

You can simply keep your personal blog with photos of a cat or your favorite coffee shop + write your thoughts. The main thing is to do it sincerely, people will feel it, and you will see feedback.

@ visual. lover

Instagram debates on the topic - a single style or diversity - will probably never stop. But I think both consistency and diversity have their place in your account. I still recommend that businesses stick to a single style, but personal profiles can be maintained in a variety of ways.

General rules for both styles:

  • Photos must be of good quality.
  • The content should be catchy.
  • Unusual that will interest you.
  • The content must be associated with your account. Ideally, when a user sees a photo in your feed and recognizes your handwriting without looking at your avatar.

Here are some tips to make your profile sticky.

Take diverse photos and combine them with each other. Take pictures of landscapes, details, try new angles. When you are going to post a photo, look at the last and third photo and try not to repeat the plan. For example, the last photo is a selfie, and the third is a flatley, which means the next photo can be taken general plan– architecture, landscape.

To see how your profile will look, there are planner applications. I recommend Concept Office, Unum, Snug. With their help, create a draft of your profile and your Instagram will be transformed!

Alternate uploaded photos with unuploaded ones. If on last photo You have a city with lots of details, make the next photo light and airy. Let your Instagram profile breathe.

Ideas for photos. Add to your life profile. A gallery with ideal layouts is good, but live accounts are what attract users’ interest. Show off your personality!

Watch the lighting. This is the first rule of quality visual content. If you want your Instagram to become harmonious, take photos in the same lighting. A win-win - daytime days and diffused light.

Pay attention to the background. If you are making flatlays, choose a textured background instead of the standard white: plaid, wood, concrete, shag carpet, silk blouse, slightly rumpled sheet, chunky knit sweater. If you take a photo of your bow, choose a neutral background. This way, followers’ attention will focus on you and your image.

Use processing apps. For photo processing: Snapseed, VSCO, Lightroom, PS Express, Afterlight, PicsArt, Priime, PicTapGo, Enlight, Facetune. To add text to a photo, try using: Over, Fontmania, Canve, PicsArt, AppForType, Font Studio.

Observe and be yourself. Find your style, experiment, be inspired by the best!

@ jannet_ pravdyuk

I'll talk about how to shoot flatlay for Instagram. This stylish photo is also called “item”.

The first and universal advice: to get a harmonious picture, you need to choose more light details, and this applies to any profile - gray, black, colored.

Light. The main component and guarantee of a high-quality photo is daylight emanating from the window. Everything is very simple. We take our photophone and place it in front of the window, and take pictures. Natural shadows, diffused light - this is very important for creating a beautiful flatlay!

Backgrounds. I recommend using a plain white or a nice neutral colored sheet. A budget option- Whatman paper. Now there are a huge number of them, different colors and shades. This is a great opportunity to practice.

The more sloppily the sheet is laid out, the better and more textured the frame will be. After all, we remember our natural, soft shadows from the window.

In addition, you can buy ready-made concrete or wooden photo backdrops. I took mine from @fotofon_box. The guys are cool, they listen to your wishes.

Angle. Flatlay is a frame from above, the angle of which is exactly 90 degrees. But of course, there are no prohibitions.

Frame. Basically, all you need is inspiration. After all, all the items that I will now list can be found in any home.

For a harmonious shot we will need: a magazine, a cup of coffee or tea, photogenic cookies, sweets, sandwiches. To complete the frame perfectly, use bouquets, leaves or fresh flowers in flowerpots. Buy beautiful dishes, towels, magazines.

Don’t rush to throw away beautiful jars, for example, this is an empty bottle of perfume. And for ideas and help on “what to put” and “how to lay out,” I recommend Pinterest.

But remember: there are no rules. The truth is, there are simply no rules. The main thing is imagination and desire!

Details. For me, a harmonious shot is when there are details. Not just a cup on a background with a magazine, but, for example, rings, pendants, postcards, watches, glasses. There are simply an impossible number of options, and if you have absolutely no mood or ideas, again, Pinterest comes to the rescue.

Write just two words “flatlay ideas” - and a huge flow of information and ideas will appear in front of you. It often happens to me that I forget about something, and when I look at other people’s photos and see, for example, the same spoon in the frame, I immediately run to the kitchen!

I love shooting food flatlay, and when in the frame not everything lies flat on the plates, but a towel is sloppily folded in the corner or scattered flour, sesame seeds, nuts, salad ingredients, tomatoes, lettuce leaves and much more.

The main thing is inspiration and desire, and a beautiful shot can be made with ordinary scrambled eggs.

I advise you to adhere to symmetry in the frame, then everything will be harmonious and pleasing to the eye. The main thing is to keep the theme, you shouldn’t add pumps to the sports layout, or a jacket to the scrambled eggs.

“A picture is worth a thousand words” - we all know this very well famous phrase, and rarely do we have the opportunity to doubt its veracity.

However, a suitable picture for a post is sometimes a whole problem. Fortunately, the Internet helps us solve it.

Where can I find the picture?

There are many paid and free opportunities to find images for use in social media - for example, a list of 7 paid and 7 free photo banks.

The tool allows you to create images for Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter, presentations, infographics, etc. All you have to do is select a background and place it on it. graphic elements(the number of which is more than 1 million) and add text. Most of service tools are free.

Creating pictures with quotes

This free tool allows you to create pictures with text in the Atcard style.

The free tool allows you to quickly create a quote image for your Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and postcard covers.

Mobile applications

Modern smartphones are capable of taking very good photographs. In addition to Instagram, you can make them even better using the following tools:

The application is currently only available for iOS, but according to the developers, the Android version will appear soon. The application offers 59 filters, 15 photo resizing tools, 77 frames and 66 textures.

A free application that allows you to add text to images.

Another application for editing photos and adding text to them.

One of the most popular photo apps with many filters and tools.

A popular application that expands the capabilities of a standard smartphone camera.

A simple application for creating collages.

Advice from Instapromo.pro:

To achieve success in SMM, you must bring a piece of your soul into your photos and pictures, because it is “lamp” images that hook users to the “alive”. Give people beauty and aesthetics, design photos and posts with your own style– this is in trend now. Beautiful picture, a good font for the text on it, correctly chosen posting time and hashtags, and the use of geolocation are the criteria for successful blogging on Insta. After all, using picture editors: cropping, retouching, filters, collages is only half the battle for developing your own account. And for everything else there is us ;)
