Location, how to get there

On the coast of the Ussuriysky Bay, the village of Shkotovo is located. It is 44 km from Vladivostok in a straight line, and 70 km from Nakhodka. Along the highway, the distance from Vladivostok increases to 71 km (or more than an hour), and from Nakhodka - up to 108 km (or about 2 hours). About 2 km from Shkotovo in the direction of Smolyaninovo, Primorsky Safari Park is located right in the forest.

There are several ways to get there. For those who have the opportunity, it is more convenient to get to the park by car. As for public transport, the best way to travel from Vladivostok is a taxi. In addition, you can use the train that goes from Vladivostok to Shkotovo, and from there take a taxi or walk for half an hour. There are also several convenient bus routes from Nakhodka and Vladivostok, passing through the village of Shkotovo. The main thing is to arrive on time so as not to miss feeding the animals.

Infrastructure

Seaside safari park is located on a forest plot of 16 hectares. The opening took place in 2007, so it will soon have a small, but still anniversary - 10 years. During this time, the territory was ennobled and equipped, a parking lot, a souvenir shop, an unusually designed cafe, and even several houses for spending the night were built. In front of the entrance to the territory there are tables and benches where visitors can have a bite to eat food taken from home. Bringing food into the park is strictly prohibited. Here, at the entrance, there are cash desks, and toilets are built in convenient places already on the territory itself. Visitors can take excursions (mandatory with a guide) to the zone of tigers, ungulates, bears, predatory animals and birds. In addition to the striped celebrity, his sister Taiga and wife Ussuri live in the park. In this, so to speak, aviary, animals are at ease, as if in freedom. Perhaps that is why they are so plump, and their coat is so shiny. Visitors can admire the kings of the taiga from special bridges. If you guess with time, and if you have strong nerves, you can observe the process of hunting tigers, as live goats are launched into the territory for feeding.

The history of friends of Amur and Timur

In the Primorsky safari park, the tiger, which became a star, and his sister arrived from the Khabarovsk Zoo in the autumn of 1912. Their father is a nine-year-old tiger Barkhat, a resident of the zoo center, and their mother is a six-year-old tigress Rigma, picked up in nature by a four-month-old baby. Cupid himself was born in 2012, on April 2. At first, the brother and sister were kept together, and as soon as they grew up and became sexually mature, they were seated.

The safari park hosts many animals and birds. They, found in nature or with injuries, or simply left without parental care, are brought by kind people. So, in 2015, in November, the goat Baron was brought there, however, not for the purpose of nursing, but for the purpose of selling. It was for this reason that his mistress E. Kovaleva brought him. The poor animal was purchased as another living food for predators, so no one called him by name. But one day, everything magically changed.

Unique friendship

Now there are few people who do not know about the safari park (Primorsky Territory). Timur and Amur - two of his megastars - met at the tiger's enclosure, where the poor ungulates were pushed in so that the striped predator would dine with them. But he did not think. And the goat, in order to secure his safety, even threatened the wild cat with his horns. For his courage, park workers named him Timur. Soon the bearded man relaxed completely and took Cupid's sleeping mat, and the poor fellow had to move to sleep on the roof of his own house. Despite all the laws of nature, the strange couple became inseparable. Where there is a tiger, there is a goat, where Timur is, there is Amur.

The press started talking about them, they began to make films about them, “goat and tiger” groups formed on social networks, they opened a cash account, and now everyone had Primorsky Safari Park, Amur, Timur on their lips. Kozlik could not bear the burden of glory and became conceited completely. The tiger was fed up with his impudence. Once he grabbed him by the neck with his teeth and threw him off a cliff. A couple have since been separated. And let them write - for example, E. Cupid's wedding, the birth of Sherkhan

Even during the period of friendship between the tiger and the goat of the predator, they decided to “marry”, since he was the most suitable age. Timur was put away for a while so as not to get under the paws, and Amur was introduced to the beautiful Ussuri, who was specially delivered for this purpose. The tigress flirted with her fiancé all day. He reciprocated her, and soon Ussuri found herself in an interesting position. She was isolated again, since male tigers in nature still do not raise their children. After 103 days, two heirs of Cupid were born. Ussuri licked one of them a little, but did not touch the second. Two lumps weighing about one and a half kg crawled and cried, and the mother did not pay attention to them. The park staff took the kids.

Unfortunately, one of them died, and the second had to be fed with a special mixture for cats, put on droppers, connect an oxygen mask to him, he was so weak. But still, the little one managed to get out. And they gave him the nickname Sherkhan. The Seaside Safari Park can be proud of the fact that they managed to save a tiger cub here. Now he has grown up, goes for a walk and enjoys the great love of big and small visitors. After such a large-scale care of veterinarians, the tiger cub became completely tame. Like his father, Shere Khan has an unusual friend - a little ferret named Rocky. Together they lick each other, play, and sometimes sleep side by side.

Timur's personal life

After falling off a cliff, the goat had a hard time, he even had an operation. He still limps slightly, but his fame has not faded. The administration of the park began to look for brides for Timur. His former mistress again decided to participate in the fate of the animal and brought him several goats. But for Timur, the Primorsky safari park in Vladivostok ordered beauties from afar. Contenders for his heart were two goats-record holders for milk yields. They are the Saanen breed, which was bred by Swiss breeders. One bride's name is Ksyusha, the other Saira. Walk with ungulates

But the safari park is famous not only for Amur and Timur. Primorsky Krai is also rich in other animals. So, in the park there is a large segment given to deer, roe deer, musk deer and other ungulates. They walk freely, there are no cages and pens there. Visitors can not only admire them, but also feed, stroke, take pictures with them. This is a kind of petting zoo. Food is provided by guides free of charge, it is forbidden to treat animals with your own food.

The safari park has several animals that can be observed without even entering the territory. These are rabbits and boars. Watching them frolic is especially liked by the kids.

There are gray and red wolves, badgers, otters, ferrets, raccoons, wild cats and other interesting animals in the Seaside Safari Park. The cost of visiting the safari park is quite moderate, and in addition, there is a system of discounts for large groups (from 20 persons) and children from large families. Two excursions have been developed for all visitors, each of which is accompanied by experienced guides who know everything about animals. On the first one you can visit tigers, ungulates, bears and a leopard. A ticket for adults costs 450 rubles, for children over 3 years old - 300 rubles.

Ungulates

Roe deer, red deer, hybrid deer and wild boars roam freely in the three parks. Animals are contact, therefore, walking along the paths, they can be fed and photographed. Here you can also meet rabbits and squirrels, which willingly accept treats from human hands. Primorsky Safari Park provides visitors with food for free. There are some restrictions, so as not to disturb the ecosystem of the animal habitat, park guests are not allowed to deviate from the route and leave the paths.

Predators

Foxes, Far Eastern forest cats, red and gray wolves, otters, raccoon dogs, badgers and raccoons are kept in the territory reserved for predators. It is best to watch them in the morning, when the animals walk and frolic, after feeding, as it should be for predators, they go to bed, choosing a quieter place for themselves. If you are going to visit the Seaside Safari Park, you should know that it is forbidden to feed predatory animals. The exception, however, is the raccoon and the otter, they so skillfully beg for treats that the park workers do not forbid feeding them.

Predator birds

The park contains 15 species of birds of prey: white-tailed eagle, goshawks, common, long-eared black kite, long-tailed owl, eagle owl, upland buzzard and several species of the falcon family. A professional ornithologist who conducts a tour will help you get to know them better. Some birds are quite contact, they can be held in your hands by wearing a special mitten.

The tiger park is especially popular. This is a fenced area of ​​the forest, divided into two parts. The tigresses Taiga and Ussuri live on the same territory, basically there are no conflicts between them, but sometimes young ladies can quarrel over a tastier piece of meat. Tiger Amur until recently lived in splendid isolation. Visitors can watch from platforms located at a safe height. Animals are most active in the morning, before eating. Park workers lay out pieces of meat in secluded corners of the tiger's territory, so that the animals can eat in peace. The meal does not look bloodthirsty, so it does not frighten visitors. From time to time, tigers get the opportunity to hunt live game, this process takes place in the evening, when there are no guests in the park anymore.

Amur and Timur

Of course, it is impossible not to mention in the story about the heroes whose unusual friendship shook the world. The tiger and the goat have made Primorsky Safari Park famous far beyond the borders of Russia. Recall that the goat was sent to the hunting territory of the Amur tiger as prey. When the first showed his instincts and attacked, the second did not lose his head and gave the predator a fitting rebuff. Probably, such behavior aroused the respect of Cupid, the goat was no longer considered a victim and was transferred to the category of equal predators. The courage of the herbivore delighted not only the tiger, but also the employees. In the Primorsky Safari Park, the goat was named Timur for his unbending character. The two now live in the same area. Despite his bravery, Timur respects the power of Cupid and accepts him as a leader. Park employees say that the goat has its own covered place to sleep, but often Timur does not want to leave his comrade. Therefore, next to Amur's enclosure, they built a bedding of straw for Timur.

New inhabitant

In January 2016, the Seaside Safari Park was replenished with a new inhabitant, a young male leopard was delivered from the Prague Zoo. In February, a territory was already allocated to the predator, and after a medical examination and quarantine, visitors were able to see the leopard. For now, he lives alone, but the park management plans to get him a girlfriend.

Online streaming

So that not only visitors to the park could observe the life of animals, it was decided to install cameras on its territory. They let me visit the aviary to Amur. The park staff took care of the organization of "romance": they prepared a couple of rabbits for the predators. After such a hearty dinner, according to the tiger tradition, there should be a rest on the grass. However, the striped Ussuri wanted to continue the evening. The other day, the tigress went into heat, and she began to pester Amur: she blocked the path, followed him with her tail, circled around the tiger, not letting him rest.

The striped predator was not at all against such a piquant development of events and accepted his bride in a friendly manner, without aggression. Not like the first meeting. Then he was obliged to immediately make it clear to the stranger who was the boss in the house - waving two or three times at Ussuri's face. That time, the big cat did not remain in debt, but this time at first it simply spun around Cupid, and then lay on its back and lifted its paws.

Cupid rubbed affectionately with Ussuri's head and copulated with the tigress with a roar. The tigress was enjoying riding on the soft green carpet, basking in the sun. Predators during the day copulated many times.

We participate in the program of the Eurasian Association of Zoos for the conservation and breeding of the Amur tiger. Then Amur and Ussuri should breed. We didn't think the first time would happen so early. June 3 Ussuri will be only two years old. In nature, tigers mature later. Pregnancy lasts an average of 105 days. Sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less. Ussuri is very young, giving birth for the first time, it is not known what else will happen. For me, all this is very unexpected. I thought that they had a long time before this period (mating. - Ed).

They are distributed by the program coordinators. We were promised that at first the cubs would live with us. Such prospects make us very happy.

In the footsteps of Timur the goat and Amur the tiger, who made the Primorsky safari park famous all over the world, a new pair of animals has followed, IA PrimaMedia reports. On Friday, July 14, a video "Ussuri tigress and Tur goat together in the same Park" appeared on the institution's website.

In the video, the goat Tur and the tigress Ussuri "sniff" each other, at some point the predator even decides to chase the prey, but gets scared and watches it from afar.

The park management is in no hurry to tell what happened and how this meeting actually ended. As director Dmitry Mezentsev explained to IA PrimaMedia, all employees of the safari park were instructed to keep the intrigue.

We want people to watch this video and start guessing for themselves. Where is it, how did it happen, and so on. And after a while we will release a video with explanations and see who was the closest. In the meantime, all information is confidential," Mezentsev said.

According to him, all employees of the park were instructed not to answer any questions from outsiders regarding Tur and Ussuri, up to the threat of dismissal.

Recall that the story of the world-famous friendship between a predator and a herbivore began in the Primorsky safari park in the fall of 2015. On November 22, an ordinary domestic goat, which at that time did not even have a name, was brought into the enclosure to the Amur tiger Amur. Who could then have imagined that this would turn out to be the most amazing and unusual story that would be discussed all over the world. Previously, the predator was launched into the enclosure of animals so that he would not lose his hunting skills. But the goat, later named Timur, did not want to become a dish, but was able to turn from prey into a comrade.

Tourists from all over the world came to see the couple, the director of the park, Dmitry Mezentsev, was invited to speak on television. The friendship ended at the end of January 2016. The goat provoked the Amur tiger to attack, the predator patted the herbivorous "neighbor" in the enclosure and threw it away, after which the safari park staff had to urgently lure Amur out of the enclosure, and then evacuate the goat for a medical examination. From that moment on, hitherto inseparable friends began to live apart. The goat was treated for some time, since the tiger inflicted rather serious wounds on him, after which they settled in the neighborhood of Amur, they could still be seen in the safari park, but separately.

Already in the summer of 2016, Amur “married” a tigress specially brought to the park. She was the heroine of the new clip Ussuri. Later, from the union of the famous Cupid with the tigress Ussuri, two little tiger cubs were born. For some reason, the young tigress refused to feed the cubs. The park staff had to pick up the kids. So the cubs were left orphans, they did not receive the necessary colostrum, as a result of which one tiger cub died, and the second miraculously managed to get out. They named him Sherkhan.
