In this article we will look at how to install the operating system Windows system 7 from disk. The instructions were prepared as clearly as possible and accessible even for beginners.

The entire process of installing the “seven” will consist of the following steps:

Setting up the BIOS to boot your computer from boot disk;

Recommendations for partitioning a hard drive;
Definition of the system partition;
Windows installation 7 and initial setup.

Step 1: Set up the BIOS to boot your computer from a boot disk

If you don’t know how to boot from disk, then by following the link you will learn how to do it:

Step 2. Start installation

After exiting the BIOS and having previously saved the settings made, the computer will restart and if any operating system, then after a while the message “Press any key to boot from CD or DVD” will appear on the screen, which is what you should do.

Be careful as you will only have five seconds to enter the system installation. If the current operating system starts loading, it means that the opportunity to start the installation was missed and you should restart the computer again for the next attempt.

If you are installing the system on a new computer or a clean HDD, then you will not see the previous window, Windows 7 installation will start automatically.

So, if the computer started to boot with installation disk, then the system installation start window will appear on the screen, in which you can see the process of downloading the initially necessary files.

If this window does not appear, but the old operating system starts loading (if it was installed) or messages appear that the boot disk was not found (if installed on a new computer or hard drive), then this means that your computer was unable to boot from the disk and you should return to the previous step for setting up the BIOS.

After downloading the main files, you should see a window for setting up language settings, date and time format, as well as keyboard layout, in which the default settings for Russia will be set.

System Restore may be useful to you in the future if problems arise with installed system, for example, due to damage, deletion or unauthorized modification of its system files. As a rule, this leads to Windows 7 becoming unstable or refusing to boot at all. In this case, you can restore the original system files from the installation disk using the above point.

In general, the “System Restore” section in Windows 7 is a fairly powerful tool for fixing various kinds of problems that arise during its operation, and we will definitely devote a separate publication to it, and within the framework of this article, click the “Install” button to proceed directly to installation.

In a few minutes, a window with a license agreement will appear in front of you, the terms of which must be accepted by checking the appropriate box and clicking the “Next” button.

In the next window you will have to select the installation type:

As you can see, here we can choose two options: update and full installation. The “Update” item can be used if you want to update your old operating system to Windows 7, while maintaining all installed programs and settings. True, for this, the installation of the “seven” must be launched directly from your already installed OS. It should also be remembered that this is only possible from Windows Vista, and the update is not applicable to operating systems of older generations, including Windows XP. In general, this type of installation is not the best solution. The fact is that not only the settings of the previous system will migrate to the new Windows, but also all its problems, brakes and glitches. And in general, stable operation of the system before installed programs in this case are not guaranteed. Therefore, the preferred type is the full installation, which is what you should choose.

At the next stage of installation, we have to select a partition on the hard drive to install Windows 7. Here, I would like to make a small digression and give some useful recommendations by partition hard drive to system partitions:

Don't allocate all of your hard drive space to one single partition. This can cause you a lot of trouble in the future.
Modern hard drives have quite large capacities for storing data and therefore it is advisable to divide them into several thematic sections.
It is recommended to set aside a separate section for installing the operating system and necessary software and not fill it with your personal data.
You should choose the size of the system partition with a margin, taking into account that for Windows to work correctly, 15% of the space of this partition must remain free.
Don't create too many sections. This will complicate navigation and reduce the efficiency of distributing large files and folders

Step 4. Identifying the system partition

Now, let's get back to the installation. From this point on, the installation can proceed in two ways:

Option 1: You have a new computer and the hard drive has never been allocated. In this case, a window with the following content will appear in front of you:

To partition the hard drive into partitions, you must select the item: “Disk Settings”. In the additional options that appear, select “Create” and enter in the window next to required size section. Please remember that you must specify the size in megabytes. Calculate it based on the fact that 1 gigabyte = 1024 megabytes. As a rule, for Windows7 and related software, 60–100 GB is enough, but you have the right to make it larger if necessary.

Having specified the required size of the future system partition, click the “Apply” button. Next, to use all its capabilities, Windows will ask you to create an additional partition for it. Don't be alarmed, it will only take up 100 MB of free disk space and will be invisible to you.

By clicking “OK” we will return to the screen for selecting a partition for installing Windows.

As you can see, there have been changes here. Now we have a partition reserved by the system for its own needs, a newly created partition and the remaining unallocated area. From the unallocated space on the disk, in the same window you can create additional partitions in the same way that we used above, or you can postpone this action until later and finally partition your drive in Windows.

Having accepted the right solution, select the part of the disk on which we plan to install the operating system and click “Next”.

Option 2 - If your computer already has an operating system installed. Then your hard drive is already divided into logical areas, and you will see a window listing all found partitions on it, for example:

Attention! All further manipulations with the found partitions may lead to the loss of your data, so be very careful in your actions.

If the current partition of the hard drive does not suit you, then you can delete existing partitions in whole or in part by selecting the appropriate part of the disk, and then the “Delete” option. You have the right to split the unallocated space on the disk that appears after this at your discretion using the above method, discussed in option 1.

If you are completely satisfied with the current disk layout, then you need to decide in which of the existing partitions you will install Windows 7 and whether you want to save the information available there. In this case, before moving forward, let's first take a look at the possible installation options, after which you can make an informed decision without pointing your finger at the sky.

You have selected the section to which this moment your old operating system is installed, and you plan to save the data stored on it. In this case, after clicking the “Next” button, before starting the installation, you will see a warning window that the previous copy of Windows with all its files and folders will be moved to the “Windows.old” folder. The rest of the information will be untouched. Clicking "OK" in the warning window will begin the installation process.

There is one significant drawback to this setup. As a rule, after using the operating system for a long time, the partition on which it was installed becomes very littered and contains a lot of unnecessary files. Adding to all this a new operating system with the accompanying software, you will encounter, at a minimum, irrational use of hard disk space, file defragmentation, and even possible overflow, which will undoubtedly lead to a decrease in system speed.

If you have selected a hard disk segment that does not contain Windows as the future system partition and want to save all the stored information on it, then the installation will begin immediately after clicking the “Next” button.

If you plan to install Windows 7 on a blank partition (the preferred option of all) and you have either already saved the information on it in another place, or you do not need it, then you should format it before starting the installation. To do this, select “Format”. The installer will issue a warning that this partition may contain data that is important to you and it will be destroyed.

After clicking the “OK” button, the selected part of the disk will be completely cleared of the information stored there and to begin the installation, all you have to do is select “Next”.

Step 5. Installation and initial setup of Windows 7

So, after selecting the system partition, the system installation process will begin, during which files will be copied and unpacked, components and updates will be installed.

During installation, your computer will automatically restart several times, and the entire procedure may take from 10 to 30 minutes, depending on its power.

Finally, after the installation is complete and the computer restarts again, the first initial window will appear in front of you. Windows settings, in which you have to enter your username (the name of your account in the system) and computer (the name under which it will be visible to other users on the network).

On the next screen, you can create a password for your account or postpone this action by leaving the fields blank and clicking the “Next” button.

The next step is to be able to select parameters automatic update Windows, designed to regularly check via the Internet for all kinds of system security patches, critical updates and service packs on the official website technical support. Enabling automatic updates is desirable, but not required at this stage, since you can configure this setting more flexibly after installation from the control panel.

After selecting your security options, Windows Initial Setup will prompt you to check your date and time settings. If everything is correct, click “Next”.

If network card drivers were installed during the installation process, you will see a network settings window in which you will need to select the location of your computer.

After you make your selection, a window will appear to connect to the network and apply settings.

At this point, the initial setup of the system can be considered complete. After the final application of the settings, a welcome window will appear in front of you, then the system will prepare the desktop, the appearance of which will mark the completion of the installation of Windows 7.

Immediately after completing the Windows installation, you should install all the necessary drivers for the connected devices.

Remember! After installing Windows 7, you need to enter the BIOS again and return booting from the hard drive.

We have repeatedly reviewed the functions and capabilities of this operating system. Today we will talk about something that, of course, almost every user will encounter. We'll talk about . And we will look at how to install it through BIOS.

We will not tell you what BIOS is, since it has already been mentioned several times. All we can say is that every computer has this basic “Input-Output” system.

So, first of all. This is done differently on different computers. But still, very often when starting the computer you need to press the Del key when booting the computer. After this you will be taken to the BIOS.

After entering the BIOS, find the menu section that is responsible for installing the OS. The location of this section may vary, since computers have different motherboards and, accordingly, different BIOS versions.

You need to find the menu FIRST BOOT DEVICE, BOOT or BOOT DEVICE. Why them? It is through them that you need to start installing the operating system through BIOS. Now you must select the DVD drive or HDD drive (flash drive). This completes the preparatory installation process.

Now you need to exit the BIOS, saving all the changes you made before doing so. Most often this is done like this: the F10 key to exit and the Y key to save the changes made. After this, restart your computer. After rebooting, you may see the following message:" Press any key for load from CD...". This message will appear if in the previous paragraph you selected a DVD disc as the OS distribution media. If a flash drive was used, the OS will start loading automatically after a restart.

How do you know if Windows installation has started? If everything is done correctly, something similar to this should appear on your monitor.

All this is just preparation for installing the operating system. Upon successful completion of preparation, you should see the message " Starting Windows". And almost immediately the Windows OS installation window will appear. Select all the parameters the same as in the screenshot below, and then click on the button " Further". Another window will immediately appear in which you will need to click on the button " Install".

A window with license terms will then appear. You need to check the box next to " I accept the license terms" and then press the " button Further". Everything is the same as with any other program installations. Next you will be asked to select the installation type. It is better to select the " Full installation".

The matter remains small. Now you will need to select the hard drive on which the operating system will be installed. There will be no difficulties with this. Next, the system will prompt you to choose a partition for the OS, but since they don’t exist yet, you will need to create it yourself.

Next, select the partition size, that is, set it yourself and click on the " button Apply". After this, a window will appear with information that Windows can create additional partitions. Just press the button " OK", and then " Further". The installation process will begin.

After all the necessary system components are installed, the computer will restart. At this point, remove the OS distribution media from your computer.

Once the computer restarts, a window will open to complete the installation. You should see a window like this.

This process will take several minutes. After it, the initial setup of the operating system will begin. Here you will be asked to enter your username, computer name, and user password. You can also skip this one by clicking on the " Further".

In principle, the main stage of installing Windows via BIOS is over. All you have to do is enter the key, accept the recommended settings and you can use the computer. As you can see, although this process is lengthy, there is actually nothing complicated about it.

Windows 7 is a popular OS from Microsoft

That's all for today more people well versed in computers. They actively use the Internet and social networks, navigate programs, can treat particularly annoying viruses and even disassemble and reassemble the system unit. And when they need to install Windows 7 via BIOS, they get confused. It would seem that what is so difficult about this? Just run the disk or flash drive, restart the computer and execute step by step actions, which are suggested by the installer. The principle is approximately the same as when installing any program, except that it is a little more complicated. And the difficulty lies in the fact that you need to know the correct sequence - what and how to do. More precisely, you need to know how to enter the BIOS and how to reinstall Windows through the BIOS.

Preparing a Windows 7 image

Before installing Windows 7, you need to write the installation image (installation files) to a disk or flash drive. After all, during installation, all files from the hard drive will be deleted, so the operating system will be installed from a flash drive.

It makes no difference what type of media you install Windows from. But today, when flash drives and netbooks that do not have an optical drive are becoming especially popular, Windows is most often installed from a flash drive.

Writing an image to a flash drive

So, after you have received the Windows 7 installation disk (or image), all these files need to be copied to a USB flash drive. This can be done using the UltraISO program.

To do this, you need to install it, simultaneously specifying all the necessary settings (installation path, etc.). The soft version has no meaning. The main thing is that at the last installation step you do not need to uncheck the last two items - “Associate an .iso file with this program” and “Install an ISO emulator”. After installation is complete, the program will offer to register the product, but you can select the “Trial period” option, which will allow you to use this software for 30 days. This is quite enough to have time to write a Windows 7 image to a USB flash drive.

Before recording the image, you must insert the USB flash drive into any free USB connector. Then you need to run the program and perform the following steps:

  1. Open the installation image of the operating system using the “File - Open” items.
  2. Go to “Boot - Write Disk Image”.
  3. Select the desired flash drive in the Disk Drive field (if more than one USB device is connected).
  4. Check in the “Image file” item whether you have selected the correct image.
  5. Select USB-HDD in the “Recording method” line.
  6. Click the “Record” button.

Before recording the image, the program will ask the user if he really wants to continue the process, since the flash drive will be formatted and all data will be deleted. Therefore, you need to view the contents of the flash drive in advance and save the data just in case. If there is nothing important on the flash drive, you can click the “Yes” button. The message “Burn successful” will inform the user that the image has been written to the flash drive.

Burning an image to disk

For recording Windows image 7 to disk, you can use a fairly popular program called Nero Express. To do this, you need to launch the program, click on the “Image, Project, Copy” icon, and then select “Disk Image”. A new window will open in which you need to specify the path to the desired image. If for some reason the installation image of the OS is not displayed in the folder (and it was definitely there), then it is recommended that in the “File type” line select “All supported images and projects”. After the user specifies the path to the file, the following window will open in which you will need to click on the “Record” (or “Burn”) button. After some time, the disc will be written.

How to install Windows via BIOS

The image is recorded, now you can reinstall Windows. In order to reinstall Windows, you need to restart your computer (or laptop) and. Typically, the Delete (Del) key is used for this. But it may be different on different models: F2, F8, etc. In any case, as soon as the computer turns on, the screen will indicate all the available keys, as well as the actions that they perform.

After you go to the BIOS, you will need to find the menu section that is responsible for. Depending on the motherboard and BIOS version, this section may be located in different places.

The user's task is to find a menu item called “Boot”, “Boot Device” or “First Boot Device”. And in the first place you need to install DVD-ROM (if installation is from a disk) or USB (if from a flash drive). For example, you found the “First Boot Device” item, in which the hard drive (Hard Disk) is selected, and below is the “Second Boot Device” item, in which the DVD-ROM drive is selected. That is, by default, when you turn on the computer, data is first loaded from the hard drive, and then from the drive. Everything is correct here. But to install Windows, you need to swap these 2 points so that the disk in the drive is loaded first, and then the hard drive. This can be done using the arrows and the Enter key. After this, you need to save all changes (using the F10 key) and exit the BIOS to install Windows. The computer will reboot and you will see the message “Press any key for load from CD”. That is, you need to press any button to start installing Windows.

Similar steps must be taken if the OS will be installed from a flash drive. Only instead of the “DVD-ROM” item you need to select a USB connector.

If after this the message “Windows loading files” appears on the screen, this means that the installation has begun. When this stage is completed, the Windows 7 installation window will appear, where you will need to select the language to install, time format and keyboard layout. As a rule, the default is Russian everywhere, so on at this stage you don't have to change anything. After clicking the “Next” button, a new window will appear where you can begin the process of reinstalling the OS. But before that, it is advisable to read “What you should know before installing” (especially for those who are doing this for the first time).

After clicking the “Install” button, you will need to accept the terms of the license agreement (check the box) and click the “Next” button again. After this, the program will ask the user how he wants to reinstall Windows. There are 2 options here:

  • update;
  • complete installation.

An upgrade is the installation of another OS on top of the existing one. And a complete installation is an installation from scratch. Naturally, it would be best to completely remove Windows via BIOS and install a new operating system. Therefore, you need to select “Full installation”.

At the next stage, a window will open where a list of hard drives will be presented. Here you can divide 1 partition into several: for example, into local drive C and local drive D. Windows is usually installed on drive C, so it is advisable to allocate at least 50 GB for it - approximately 20 GB will be occupied by the OS, the rest for the future. In addition, if the user is reinstalling the OS and there is already some data stored on the hard drive, they can be deleted here. How to delete? To do this, select the desired disk partition, click the “Disk Setup” button, and then select “Format”.

After all the necessary actions have been completed, you need to click on the local disk where you want to install the OS and click the “Next” button. The installation process will begin, and here you can monitor the progress of installed components and updates. As a rule, on good computers the whole process will take about 15-20 minutes.

After this, all that remains is to do a couple of steps - enter the user name, set a password (optional) and enter the activation key. If there is no key at the moment, you can simply click “Next” and enter the key later (or check the “Activate OS when connected to the Internet” checkbox). Then you will need to set the time and date, and also select your network type. After this, the desktop will load, and the installation of Windows 7 will be completed.

All that remains is to customize the computer for yourself - install drivers, select, install the programs necessary for operation, etc.

Hello, my dear readers!

If you've ever installed a new operating system, chances are you've simply updated it. For example, from “seven” to “eight” and so on. Yesterday I tried to install the OS from scratch, and I had to do it through the BIOS settings. The matter requires care, but everyone should know these aspects. Today I will tell you how to reinstall Windows via BIOS, and different ways and from various media.

What is BIOS and what does it have to do with it?

If you explain in simple words, then BIOS is a set of small programs that control the operation of your hardware in your computer. It is available on any PC, whether desktop or laptop. Without knowing the purpose of this or that section in it, I strongly do not recommend changing anything in it yourself. In the worst case scenario, you can simply burn the iron in your car.

For example, turn off the fan on the video card and that's it. The service will no longer help you here. But you still have to interact with the BIOS. Especially with the section that is responsible for the boot order from an optical drive, hard drive, flash drive or other device. This is necessary when installing the OS from scratch.

How to enter BIOS

Everything is very simple. This is done without a disk or flash drive. First, you need to restart your laptop. Or your desktop PC. As soon as the motherboard loading screen appears, you will see a picture like this.

Pay attention to the line that I indicated with an arrow. The default key is there DEL, and if it is pressed when such a screen appears, then you will immediately be taken to the BIOS. However, there may be other keys, for example: DELETE,F10, F11, F12, F1, F2, F3, Esc. Moreover, on some motherboards, these settings can be called up not with one key, but with a combination of them. Here are the most common ones: Ctrl+Alt+Esc, Ctrl+Alt+Ins, Ctrl+Alt+S, Ctrl+Alt+Del, Ctrl+Alt, Fn+F1, Ctrl+Ins, Ctrl+Alt+Enter. You should see a window like this.

If this doesn't happen, it means you did something wrong. Try again.

Preparing for installation

Before installing the OS, you first need to download and burn it. Which version of Windows you prefer is up to you. I will only give links to distribution kits at:

  • Windows 7.
  • Windows 8.
  • Windows 10.

To download images you will need program for downloading torrents. Just install it and download the distribution online. If this download method is not convenient for you, I suggest Alternative option . This page has software that will help you download Windows and burn it to disk, just scroll to the bottom of the page and click here.

If you still decide to use torrents, then you will need another software to burn ISO. UltraISO. It will help you create a bootable disc or flash drive. Install it and open it.

Important: After downloading the distribution, be sure to check it for viruses, for example using Comodo Internet Security.

Let's imagine that you decide to install the operating system from a disk (don't forget to prepare it in advance). Open UltraISO and select the image of the downloaded system.

You can also do this through the menu " File».

Everything that is on the OS image should be displayed in the program window.

Next, insert a clean blank into your optical drive. Make sure that there is not a single scratch on it, otherwise it simply will not be readable. Then in the menu " tools"Click on this line.

You will see a window with a choice of drive, burning speed and the OS file itself.

Then simply press the button Write down" and wait for completion. That's it, you've just created a boot disk yourself.

Don't want to install the operating system from the DVD? I'll tell you how to do this using a USB flash drive!

Immediately insert it into the USB port and scan for viruses using AVG AntiVirus Free. Next, do the same with the UltraISO program until you select the “ tools" Now you select the “” partition and there click burn hard disk image.

In the sign that appears, select “ Yes"and wait for the end. But now you can start recording. Once the process is complete, you can remove the flash drive and proceed to installation.

Setting up BIOS for booting from media

Now let's set up the system. We go into the BIOS. You have already read above how to do this. The fact is, my dear readers, that the BIOS itself can be of two types. Award and AMI. And in each of them the setting will be different. I have written instructions for you so that you do not get confused.

Award BIOS – setup for booting from disk

As soon as the blue settings screen appears, click the second line where it says - Advanced BIOS Features.

Then in the second line (First Boot Device) click Enter and select your optical drive.

In the second line (Second Boot Device) do the same, but select the hard drive (Hard Disk).

AMI BIOS – setting for booting from disk

Here the principle is the same, but the course of action is slightly different and the interface is nicer.

In the first line we set our drive, and in the second line the hard drive. That's it, press F10.

If you decide to install Windows from a flash drive, then the algorithms are the same, but instead of the drive you select the USB-HDD line.

Everything else is the same. Reboot your PC. But don't forget to insert bootable media.

Installation process

Here is the final stage. Now that your bootable media has booted, you will see the operating system installer dialog box with a choice of language. Next you will have a window like this with a choice of installation type. Choose the full installation.

Then select the hard drive partition, format it and click “next”.

The system will do the rest itself, all you have to do is enter your username, select a region, configure the Internet and download the Dr Web Cureit antivirus. And that’s it, now you can install the operating system yourself via BIOS. Congratulations!

Conclusion

I hope the article is how to install helped.

Would you like to reinstall windows? It is very important to reinstall the OS correctly. The process can be divided into three stages: The first stage is the actions performed before installation, the Second is installation of the operating system, and the Third stage is configuration.

You cannot reinstall the system via the Internet; you can reinstall Windows using a DVD rom or USB flash drive.

Before you reinstall Windows, you must Right choose a distribution that you can buy in a store or download on the Internet. The disk image can be burned using UltraISO. I recommend using clean builds that do not have pre-installed drivers, themes, or tweaks (changes to registry settings). To improve performance and security, the latest service pack and critical updates must be preinstalled. This operating system will last longer!

Next we get network cable(if there is one) from the network card, so that the “evil spirits” do not climb out of the network. We check the distribution kit and all partitions of the hard drive (hard drive) for viruses with updated databases. All sections must be checked so that after installing the operating system the virus does not enter it from partitions other than C.

Copy everything you need files from system drive C (root, folders My Documents, Desktop, Documents and Settings, C:\Users) to D, E, since when installing the OS, partition C must be formatted (complete loss of information). In the future, do not store documents, films, games (do not install) on the system drive, as these files will affect performance in a negative way.

We rewrite the network settings (IP address, gateway, workgroup, etc.), if there is a home or other one. Make sure you know in advance how to set up internet connection after reinstalling the system. Go to your Internet provider's website and look at the instructions.

If you do not have a system disk with DRIVERS or saved on the hard drive, a program will be useful that will help you correctly save existing drivers, as well as find them on the Internet and update them in the future.

If you have completed all these steps, move on to the Windows installation process. you can read how to do this correctly

After installing Windows, install an antivirus, drivers for all devices, service packs, critical updates, if they were not preinstalled in the distribution. As well as all the necessary programs, configure the OS as convenient (folder type, theme, desktop shortcuts, etc.), update anti-virus software via the Internet, optimize the OS.

To Once again didn't have to install Windows from scratch, and the reason for this could be: a virus attack, slow system operation, caught a “Blue Screen of Death” and the like, there is something for you correct solution - special program!

I hope this article helped you reinstall Windows!

After purchasing a new Acer v3 laptop, I encountered a problem - it was running Windows 8, this operating system is unusual for many people, like me, so the decision was made to reinstall it on Windows 7.

Ordinary the windows way 7 could not be reinstalled immediately, because when the computer booted there was no message on how to enter the BIOS and it was impossible to select boot from DVD-ROM.

I managed to enter the bios using the F2 button, the remaining keys for entering and the BIOS settings can be viewed. By default, the UEFI interface was used, in this case it is impossible to choose to boot from a DVD ROM or flash drive, so to reinstall Windows you need to Boot - Boot Mode instead of UEFI choose Legacy Bios.

Tab Exit - Exit Saving Changes(Exit Save Changes), restart the laptop.

Go to bios, in Boot priority order select boot from DVD ROM or flash, click F10.

When installing Windows 7, a message will appear Installing Windows on this disk not possible. The selected disk has a GPT partition style.

The GPT partition table has replaced the MBR and is designed for hard drives over 2.2 TB. If your disk space is less than 2.2 TB, you need to convert the partitions to MBR or delete all hard drive partitions using the installation disk, create a new partition with the MBR table (default), reinstall Windows 7.

You can change the size, create new partitions, and increase hard drive space in new laptops with Windows 8 using the boot disk Disk Director Home 2011 Update 2 or Paragon Partition Manager.
