Details about the weather in Pattaya by month:

Pattaya weather – sun all year round

The sun always shines brightly in Pattaya and this is an indisputable fact. It is unlikely that you will find the city yet (or you will have to search hard),
where are they so beautiful climatic conditions for relax.
Don’t trust Gismeteo and others like them, they have never guessed correctly when asked about the weather in Pattaya – sometimes it’s cloudy, sometimes there’s a chance of rain. Finger to the sky.
30 degrees during the day, 28 degrees in the evening, this is the weather in Pattaya day after day. Equally warm, equally sunny.

Weather in Pattaya - rainy season

It also rains in Pattaya.

It is generally accepted that Pattaya also has a dry season (from November to March) and a rainy season (from May to November).
It is difficult to agree with this situation, since the weather in Pattaya in the summer was as sunny as in the winter, a couple of small rains went unnoticed.
Let's make allowances for the drought and poor harvest of 2015 in Thailand; perhaps the summer of 2015 in Pattaya is abnormally dry and sunny, and yet, the myth is that in June-August here
It's better not to go for me debunked.

However, I am aware that the bulk of precipitation in Pattaya will fall in September - October. Even more for October.
Therefore, if you are going to Thailand in October, keep in mind that clouds and heavy rains and probable.
November in Pattaya is no longer so wet, and December and January can be called dry.

Remembering past years - the flood in Bangkok (which also affected Pattaya) occurred in September - October.
So draw your own conclusions.

The main rainfall in Pattaya falls in October

In my opinion, the best time to go to Pattaya is in the summer. Minimal risk of experiencing several cloudy days
covers the fact that the cheapest tours and tickets to Pattaya are sold in the summer, since
It’s supposedly “out of season” here.
In summer, a visiting tourist in Pattaya can expect not only good weather, but also the lowest prices for the most popular fruits,
since the season of mangoes, mangosteen, lychees, rambutans, durians, longans and other things is in full swing and the cost of mangoes is falling
up to 10 baht per kg in Pattaya (for example, ).

Weather in Pattaya - dry season

Koh Sichang island near Pattaya – sunny and dry in spring

For those who have a vacation in the winter or just want to shake things up by going to Thailand in winter, it is worth remembering that in addition to good weather you will find
Peak bookings and high prices in Pattaya if you go here during the “hottest” time from December to January.

Usually they are booked for December and January in the summer best numbers hotels, private apartments, in general, the most profitable offer.
You shouldn’t think that after January prices in Pattaya will immediately fall, no.

The weather in Pattaya pleases tourists until April-May, when people begin to slowly leave, because from March it gets really hot in Pattaya.
Although, when you live here permanently, you don’t notice this peak of heat. Well, it's hot and hot.

April in Pattaya - you see for yourself. Heat.

As always, as usual, well, maybe you slightly set the air conditioner to 24 instead of 26, but nothing changes.

Weather in Pattaya and the sea

The water temperature in the sea (or rather in the Gulf of Thailand) does not fall below 25 degrees.
In spring, you can take hot baths in shallow water, because the water warms up to 33-38 degrees and becomes
just hot (to the delight of small children).

During all the time we lived in Pattaya, there was not a single time when I had to “get used to” the water temperature in the sea,
it is always equally comfortable, only in the spring you try to go deeper to “catch” the cold current.

And if we talk about the pool, then when the weather is cloudy (which doesn’t happen often), you remember the sensations well
when leaving the water there is a breeze and it’s even a little chilly. This is so strange and I want to remember this feeling, because in Pattaya
it never gets cold.

The sea in Pattaya is always warm

Those who travel to Pattaya in the summer should remember that the sea may be a little stormy and therefore trips to the islands will be difficult.
This does not happen often enough to cancel the trip.
There may also be jellyfish. This is to be completely honest. I only got one this summer.

Today Pattaya- this is an incredible mixture different cultures, traditions and level of recreation, attracting more than 9 million people a year. But the most interesting thing is that when translated, the name of the city itself literally means “southwest wind, signaling the arrival of the rainy season.” Let's figure out why this is and what time is best to plan your trip to Pattaya.

Pattaya climate and weather

The geographical location has awarded Thailand three seasons: dry, rainy and relatively cool. Pattaya, a southeastern resort located at the edge of the Gulf of Thailand, actually has two seasons.

In Pattaya they will cut:

  • dry season from November to April(precipitation occurs a maximum of ten times during this time, and then the rain, which lasts half an hour, suddenly stops, after which the sun scorches again and high humidity reigns)
  • The rainy season begins at the end of May-June and lasts until October(short-term showers - literally, an hour or two, most often occur at night up to 5 times a week)

The location has given Pattaya a unique subequatorial climate . There are no extreme temperature peaks or heavy precipitation. In addition, the resort is located in a protected bay, as a result of which there are no strong waves on the coast and there is no danger of a tsunami. The tourist season usually falls during the dry season. Although, knowledgeable tourists, or those who have visited Pattaya more than once, are not afraid to plan their vacation for the rainy season. At this time, the weather is almost the same as during the dry season, only it becomes cooler at night due to precipitation. The only significant drawback is the constant high humidity.

Given the minimum amount of precipitation in Pattaya, there is also the driest month - December. Plus, it's also the coolest! You can imagine how many tourists come here on New Year’s Eve! Prices at this time, starting from the first days of December, grow exponentially!

Water temperature off the coast of Pattaya in the Gulf of Thailand all year round at a magnificent level of +27+28°C.

Winter

A favorite time for tourists. Many people “escape” from frost and snow to warmer climes, choosing Pattaya because of its comfortable climate and warm sea. From December to March you can get a great tan in Pattaya. But only by following certain rules: be on the beach until 11 a.m. maximum, in the open sun - no more than half an hour. For our tourists, who have “caught up” on the warmth and sun, these are usually unthinkable rules, therefore, as a rule, after two or three days, Russian-speaking travelers can be recognized by their red faces, shoulders and burnt noses, and some manage to suffer from heatstroke. In order to properly tan and not become covered in spots, the first exposure to the open Thai sun should be no more than 15 minutes; you can gradually increase the interval.

You need to carry bottled water and sunscreen with you everywhere with maximum protection! You should wear a hat everywhere, even in water.

Unlike the myths floating around the Internet, it is not +50°C at the resort! Unless, of course, you are standing with a thermometer on the hot sand in the middle of the beach. In winter in Pattaya, a maximum of +30°C in the shade, the temperature may fluctuate within one to two degrees. At night it is slightly cooler (about +25+26°C). There is a certain peculiarity: this temperature is observed more often on the coast. In the urban jungle, due to the fact that buildings heat up and give off heat more strongly, temperatures can reach +33°C.

There is practically no precipitation in winter, but humidity is high. One of the peculiarities is that in January the water in the Gulf of Thailand is the coolest - about +26°C.

In the period from November to March, hotels are booked several months in advance, so you should either count on last-minute tours or choose early booking. During this period, prices in Pattaya are the highest - three to four times higher than in the off-season.

The most low temperature ever recorded in Pattaya is +19°C!

The cleanliness of the water in the coastal area of Pattaya is not always the best. Many tourists prefer to go to neighboring islands as part of excursions, and at the same time for the purpose of a beach holiday.

Spring

You can get burned in cloudy weather. Pattaya, like the rest of Thailand, is located in the tropics, where ultraviolet radiation is merciless.

For a whole week in April, Thais have fun - they celebrate New Year. From April 13 to April 19, during Songkran, it is customary to douse each other with water and smear white clay on each other.

There are eight beaches in Pattaya, but there are several good ones, for example, the largest Jomtien and the most well-groomed Wong Amat.

Summer

During periods of relative coolness, city buildings play into the hands of locals and tourists by cooling the air. Thus, if the forecast shows a temperature of +30+31°C, most likely it will actually be no more than +28°C.

From the end of July there usually comes a period when jellyfish are especially active. These Marine life live in the Gulf of Thailand, and are very fond of the coastal waters of the protected Pattaya Bay, and in rainy weather or after a storm their numbers increase sharply.

At this time, special operational patrols and medical teams are present on the beaches to provide assistance to vacationers. The bites are not serious, but can cause great discomfort, especially in children.

Autumn

The kitesurfing season starts in November and lasts until March. But kite riding is prohibited on the public beaches of Pattaya - you may be thrown ashore, and then a large crowd of vacationers will suffer. Besides, green Zone and a row of sun loungers is also not conducive to safety. Therefore, the only place where you can ride is the beach next to the Ambassador Hotel at the Blue Lagoon spot. There are also several kite schools located there, and equipment rental is available.

Flyboarding can be done on the beaches - a great but expensive activity in Pattaya. However, if you try it once, it will be impossible to forget the experience!

Extreme entertainment in the city includes ATV riding and cable car(Cable Rides).

The period of jellyfish activity in the Gulf of Thailand continues until mid-November.

Pattaya Climate, one of the resort towns in Thailand, is considered the most stable in the entire country. Although, this concept is quite relative, since heavy rains occur here too. Of course, they are not as strong as in other cities, but they still exist. This resort in Thailand has a hot tropical climate with increased level humidity, remaining almost unchanged air temperature. Thanks to this, tourists are welcomed here all year round. The weather has both dry and wet periods. Considering possible acclimatization, it is important to know the state of your health when planning to travel to this country.

The rainy season in Pattaya is from May, when it begins, until October. The heat during these months is incredible, and the air temperature often exceeds 40 degrees.

Cloudy weather in Pattaya during the rainy season

Everything is aggravated by high air humidity, which reaches 90% due to the fact that tropical downpours occur continuously. For those for whom the heat is combined with high humidity It is better not to visit Pattaya during these months.

If you want to sunbathe at this particular time, then this is quite doable, since it usually rains for no longer than one hour. Perhaps the main disadvantage of holidays during the rainy season is that water floods the city streets, flooding the lower floors of buildings. Fortunately, the water does not stand still for too long, and quite quickly flows from the mainland into the sea. In the same time the positive side holiday can be considered low prices and not too big number tourists.

Dry season in Pattaya

The so-called dry season in Pattaya begins in November. It ends in March. During these months, the amount of rain gradually decreases, and the air, accordingly, becomes drier.

Panoramic view of Pattaya during the dry season

It is at this time that tourists flock here: the time is considered optimal for relaxing at the resort. Often the dry season is also called the cold season, but this definition is not very correct. It’s just that the air temperature is not extreme and drops no lower than 30 degrees during the day, and at night it is no less than 20.

Naturally, at the height of the season, prices rise for those who come to relax. They become the highest during the New Year holidays.

That is why it is worth immediately noting that it is not surprising when there are those who want to relax “under the rains” that come at the end of spring. According to these tourists, a little cool rain falling in the middle of a very hot day can give an incredible feeling. In the end, you can stock up on an umbrella. But needed in mandatory and sunscreen: after all, walking along the hot streets of Pattaya, you can get sunburned even when there are clouds in the sky.
In such weather you can have a great swim, although it’s unlikely to have a good rest on the city beach. The sea is quite dirty, and the high temperature and humidity provide an excellent opportunity for microorganisms dangerous to humans to multiply. But you can swim in the clear and clean sea at this time, by going to the islands for this.

One of the decisive factors that influences the decision to come to Thailand is tropical climate . Firstly, this is very unusual for our cold latitudes and people tired of winter are eager for a vacation "fill up" the sun and warmth of Thailand. Many come here for "wintering", and some even for permanent residence.

Secondly, in terms of temperature fluctuations, the climate here is quite even. Amplitude annual temperatures in Pattaya it does not exceed 10 degrees. While in Russia, in the European part it reaches 40-50 degrees, and in the regions of Siberia it reaches 80.

So smooth temperature regime coupled with sea air has a beneficial effect on the body. However, this issue is quite controversial. Thailand is contraindicated for some people . For various disorders of the thyroid gland, tumor processes, cardiovascular and joint pathologies. Moreover, those diseases that would not progress in a cold climate may appear or sharply worsen in a hot tropical climate.

A vacation trip of 2-4 weeks will not bring problems regarding healthy people. Wintering or traveling for permanent residence must be accompanied by doctor’s recommendations, especially if the patient has chronic diseases.

But even Pattaya's even tropical climate is not the same throughout the year. It is divided into seasons, each of them has its own characteristics.

It is believed that in Pattaya, and in Thailand in general, there are only two seasons - the dry season and.

  • January

According to the characteristics, January coincides with December. Minimum humidity, daytime temperatures are around 30 °C. A pleasant time for a trip to the coast of Pattaya, as well as for excursions around the country.

The sea cools down overnight, which gives swimmers even more pleasant sensations, especially in the first half of the day. It's so great to warm up under the scorching sun and plunge into cool water. Such procedures strengthen the immune system and the vascular system.

  • February

In February, rains are still rare, but due to the increase in night temperatures to 23-24 °C, the sea does not have time to cool and increases the daytime temperature by an average of 2 °C. It reaches 32 °C. Humidity is low and the sun is becoming increasingly active. In Thailand you should always use creams to protect your skin. Don't forget about it!

Weather in Pattaya in spring

  • March

"Dry season" comes to the end. In the last ten days of the month you can already experience prolonged precipitation. The air temperature rises another 1 °C. This applies to both daytime and nighttime indicators.

There are a lot of tourists in Pattaya at this time, since February-March are considered ideal months for.

  • April

Last month "high" season. Maximum temperatures reach 33-35 °C during the day and 25-27 °C at night. Tropical rains can be found once or twice a week. However, they are quite short-lived and certainly will not spoil the impression of your vacation.

There is a constant breeze blowing on the coast, so the increase in humidity here will not be felt as much. If you plan to travel to the north of the country or to Bangkok, get ready for the unpleasant effects of the sauna.

  • May

The beginning of the rainy season. Many are afraid of it and do not want to come to Thailand in general, and Pattaya in particular, at this time. This period is marked by a decrease in the number of tourists and, as a consequence, a decrease in prices.

Is it worth it to be so afraid of this notorious "rainy season"?

Temperatures day and night remain the same as in April. But the amount of precipitation increases 3 times. This means that it will rain 4-5 days a week. Its duration increases to 2-3 hours.

  • July

July continues the traditions of June. The temperature stays at 30-32 degrees Celsius during the day. It rains often, but more at night. There are quite a lot of Russians coming to Pattaya in July, as this is traditionally Russia's favorite holiday month.

  • August

August – tourist season for Russians and they are not bothered by the presence of rain. Indeed, in many regions of Russia at this time there is much more rain, and the air temperature is 10-15 °C lower.

Weather in Pattaya in autumn

  • September

Let us repeat once again that it is easier to breathe on the coast due to the coastal winds. And after driving literally a few kilometers from the sea, you will find yourself in a sauna. Whether this is good or not is up to you to decide.

  • October

The duration and amount of precipitation in October increases by another quarter. Only towards the end of the month does a downward trend begin to be observed. However, making forecasts is not a rewarding task. And the climate in Thailand is fickle. If in Pattaya it's raining, then 30 kilometers away they don’t even remember the latter.

  • November

"Wet Season" leaves Pattaya, but rain is still not uncommon. In a month you can encounter precipitation for 8-10 days, mainly at the beginning. The humidity is quite high, but on the coast it will be quite comfortable due to the sea breeze. Temperature 29-31 °C.
At this time, it is better to be careful about coming to Pattaya for those who have problems with the heart and blood vessels.
