The beautiful Nina Cheishvili, a Georgian on her paternal side, studied at that time at the Pedagogical Institute and was the record holder of Tajikistan in athletics: she had no equal at distances of 100, 200 and 400 meters.

For the sake of a second meeting with her, I persuaded our athletics coach at the aviation school to take me, a boxer, to competitions in Stalinabad, - Rostislav Ivanovich recalls, and “devils” run in his eyes. - I honestly confessed: I’ll fail 100 and 200 meters, but I’ll run 1500, I’ll push the shot, so I’ll bring some points to the team. They took me. I walk around the stadium looking for her. And then they say into the mouthpiece: women are called to the start. I look - my Nina is walking with spikes in her hands. And I couldn’t say anything else out of fright, except: “Are you a woman?” She answered me: "Imagine, yes." Dope, of course, but the main thing for me was to say something, to hook her. I'm three years younger than her. Now it doesn't matter, but at the time when she was 20, how could I admit that I was only 17? I wanted to win her! And I lied, attributed to myself four years.

After three and a half years of dating, they got married. It was 53 years ago. Since then, Nina Davidovna has never regretted that she married Rostislav Ivanovich. By the way, if not for her, the Yankovsky acting dynasty might not have existed. Rostislav got a job as a car depot dispatcher for one closed nuclear enterprise. They paid big money - 1300 rubles a month. But the chauffeur to get nice outfit, undertook to solder the dispatcher, so much so that he himself could no longer reach the house.

And I was already pregnant, Igor is about to appear, - Nina Davidovna recalls the difficult times. - And now I'm walking around Leninabad, I look - an announcement: young men and girls are recruited for theater courses and for an amateur circle. I came home and said: Slava, go. There is only one condition - you leave the car depot. He obeyed and signed up - both in a circle and in courses, and transferred from the car depot as a dispatcher of the railway department, where they did not drink.

Nina Davidovna could not but remember the first performance of her husband for the rest of her life, if only because on this very day, on Easter, April 29, 1951, a couple of hours after the premiere, she gave birth to a son. And Rostislav was seen on the stage by one of the Moscow theater directors, who came to Leninabad to work, and invited him to a professional theater. This was the beginning of the Jankowski acting clan.

Rostislav Ivanovich came to Minsk in 1959 "under the patronage" of the make-up artist Yegorov, whom he met in Leninabad. Egorov, having moved to the Belarusian capital and got a job at Belarusfilm, told about Yankovsky there, and he was invited to screen tests. And at the studio, the actors of the Russian Theater saw him and called him to him.

The theater became his home in the truest sense of the word - for three and a half years Rostislav Ivanovich and his family lived in theatrical dressing rooms. He took his 14-year-old brother Oleg from Saratov to take at least part of his material worries from his relatives. In Minsk, by the way, current star"Lenkom" Oleg Yankovsky made his debut on stage - he replaced the sick travesty in the episodic role of a boy in the play "Drummer Girl". True, Oleg did not immediately realize all the responsibility - much more than the theater he was worried about football, and one day he simply overslept his performance in the play. An angry Rostislav forbade his younger brother to approach the football field for a cannon shot.

Once upon a time, a mother taught her sons: "If you decide to get married, then for the rest of your life. There is no need to start in a different way." All three Yankovsky brothers got married before the age of 21 - and it was for life. And if fate overtook Rostislav at the stadium, then Oleg - at the theater school. Lyudmila Zorina studied a year older, was very noticeable, beautiful, red-haired and insanely talented. After college, she was immediately invited to the Saratov Drama Theater. All Saratov went to look at her, and then they said about Oleg: "This is the husband of Zorina herself." Yes, only once Lyudmila, like once Nikolai Yankovsky, had to sacrifice her career for the sake of Oleg. Having abandoned everything, she followed her husband to Moscow, went headlong into the family - the development of a talent of such a rank as Yankovsky's required "strong rear".

In addition to his wife, the closest people for Oleg Yankovsky are son Philip, an artist and a famous clip maker (he shoots videos for Vetlitskaya, Malikov, Decl, "Brilliant", he himself starred as a young Troubadour in the film "The Bremen Town Musicians"), daughter-in-law Oksana Fandera, one of winners of the Miss USSR beauty contest, and grandchildren. The sons of Rostislav Yankovsky - Igor and Vladimir - at first also followed in the footsteps of their father, became actors. But after some time, both realized: the theater is not for them.

The youngest, 43-year-old Vladimir, is the only one of the Yankovskys who has not yet started a family. But he built a house - a good, two-story one. The main decoration of the house is a collection of films from more than two thousand cassettes. And although Vladimir Rostislavovich lives in Minsk, he works mostly in Moscow or for Moscow. A theater and film actor by education, who played on the same stage with his father for 10 years, he never knew the taste of fame, success and real creativity. Eight years ago, he created the Irreal Pictures film company and became, perhaps, the most famous Belarusian video maker. He has directed over 300 commercials and video clips. Most notable works- clips "Schizophrenia" for the German group "Mind Odissi", "How delightful evenings in Russia" and "My love - Balloon for the White Eagle.

And his older brother Igor went to Moscow, entered Shchukinskoye and worked for Efros for 25 years at the Theater on Malaya Bronnaya. And one summer, while relaxing in Sochi, he met the red-haired beauty Evelyn. Half German, Evelyn Motl lived with her parents near Berlin, and came to Sochi to relax after receiving a diploma from the University of Berlin. Seeing each other, Igor and Evelyn, as they say, disappeared - and a year later they got married. Evelyn moved to Moscow to her husband. And that one has a beggarly salary, a small room, empty shelves in stores.

Igor, immediately after the birth of his son, left the theater and organized his own advertising company "Maxima". Today it is one of the largest advertising companies in Moscow. Her head is immersed in work. He leaves home early, arrives late, but dines at home and certainly tries to have time to bathe Anna-Maria before going to bed, is jealous of her and threatens to disperse everyone when her daughter gets married. It happens infrequently in Minsk. But on Christmas he gathers all his relatives in Moscow. This is the favorite holiday of the Yankovsky clan.

Old things are like a dying nature... I remember how I first brought Lyudmila Zorina, my fiancee, to the communal room to meet my relatives. And all that's left of past life, all these darned napkins, forks that survived ... You can guess how it looked. But everything was served. And my wife still remembers that evening. This memory is important for both of us. And it is very important that the family remains a family. To gather all together, at least for dinner, at least in the country. I managed to insist on it.

For me, creativity is more precious, stronger, closer - family, hearth, son, grandchildren. Another question is that I was lucky, my family, and in particular my wife, helps me to take place in my profession. And I would be very unhappy if I were deprived of the opportunity to do what I love. But relatives are still more important ... Today I constantly feel my family behind me: son, grandson, granddaughter ...

My wife, Lyudmila Zorina, is very wise woman. She did a lot to ensure that our union was happy. I also put a lot of effort into this. When we got married and worked together at the Saratov theater, I for a long time called "Zorina's husband." She was the heroine and I was the feathered actor. But at some point, Lyudmila began to be called "Yankovsky's wife" ... It is sometimes very difficult for a family to go through such turns of fate without loss. There were not always times when Lyudmila was in demand enough in the profession, and it was hard for both of us, it was even difficult to talk and look into each other's eyes. But we did it.

Probably, if not for our profession, we would have more children. But the Saratov Theater produced seven performances a year. And the wife was busy, if not in each, then after one ... And our son turned out to be good. And everyone told us: well, why do you have one of them? And then we moved to Moscow, and I began to act in films a lot. Today on the plane, tomorrow on the train. Such is the acting profession: missed a chance today - nothing will happen tomorrow. You can't say, "Let's take a break." Alas, you have to pay for everything in life ... I am grateful to Philip and Oksana for allowing themselves such a wonderful luxury and giving us happiness by having two children - a boy and a girl.

Of course, it happened to me to experience a novel on stage, and then to experience it in my life. An actor should be amorous, it helps, his eyes should always burn. But my wife had the wisdom to understand this feature of the profession, and I always had enough love for my family.

My son starred in Tarkovsky's Mirror at the age of five. I recently watched the movie and cried. He exists there so wonderfully. Andrei, I remember, kept asking me: “Listen, does he understand anything?” I said, "Well, let's check it out." And Philip did everything exactly, in the top ten.

Some secrets of the acting profession were declassified for Philip in the family. And of course, like any acting child, he spent a lot of time behind the scenes. And when I grew up, I took him to the theater for a performance. Coming out, he said: “Dad, thank you, I will never go to the theater again.” The performance must have been bad. But when Philip grew up, he still wanted to study directing at VGIK, and I supported him in every possible way. Now he has his own studio, he shoots clips, commercials, plays, he himself, as a director, made several interesting films. It looks very good, somehow matured. He has a very interesting facial structure. A father cannot be objective, but there is no other such person in our cinema today.

Fortunately, my son did not fall under the spell of any movement. The only tense moment for me was when the avalanche of freedom hit his generation. They had a company: Fedor Bondarchuk, Stepan Mikhalkov, Yegor Konchalovsky ... They were clip makers, communication mostly took place at night, a kind of night club life ... But it quickly passed.

I can’t say that Philip and I see each other very often. He is an adult, he has his own circle, I have mine, but spiritually we are close.

And my grandson Ivan starred in my film "Come see me." Prior to that, even Philip did not shoot him, so this is Vanya's film debut. But there were no concessions on the site. Ivan was only slightly frightened at first, and then - as befits - he behaved professionally on the site. His role was small - such an angel, because of which the whole story happened. Whether the grandson will be an actor, I don’t know, but he has the data for this: a rich imagination, emotionality ... Genetics, probably.

I repeat: I really appreciate the very concept of the family, it is sacred to me. Our mother and father lived a long married life, and my brothers with their spouses, and God grant long happiness to my son together with his wife. I have a beloved grandson and granddaughter. Such values ​​are not scattered.

The success of his older brother on the theater stage inspired Oleg Ivanovich to enter the theater school. And so the Jankowski dynasty began.
Nina Davidovna worked at school as a geography teacher, she loved her profession very much. Rostislav Ivanovich always said that he got his wife-teacher for his dislike of school.

Rostislav Ivanovich always spoke of his wife with great warmth and tenderness. He never hid: his success and popularity is the merit of Nina. Georgian by origin, Nina Cheishvili took care of the warmth and comfort of their home. She never screamed or sawed her husband. If she allowed herself to advise her husband on something, she did it invariably tactfully and unobtrusively.
He was invited to work at the Lensoviet Theater, but doctors did not recommend transporting younger son, Vladimir in northern capital. And the actor made a choice in favor of the family, forever remaining in Minsk.
