University of Banking(hereinafter referred to as UBS) was founded in 2006. It became a response to the challenge of the time - to create a centralized educational institution, united by a common strategy and tactics in training highly qualified personnel for the financial and credit system of Ukraine.

The university was created on the basis of the Lvov Banking Institute and its branch in Kyiv. Two more institutes, which operated as parts of the Sumy Academy of Banking, were merged, in Kharkov and Cherkassy. The Kharkov Institute of Banking UBS NBU was founded in May 1944 as the Kharkov Regional Credit College of the State Bank of the USSR. The main objectives of the research work of an educational institution are to ensure comprehensive integration of the educational process, scientific and scientific-production activities. The entire scientific and teaching staff and over 70% of students are annually involved in research work, working on the development of scientific topics, in particular: " Modern technologies financial and banking activities in Ukraine", "Regional aspects of the development of the banking sector (using the example of the Kharkov region)", etc.

Every year the number and volume of printed scientific and educational products, which are prepared by teachers of the institute, increase. Thus, over the past 3 years, more than 10 monographs, over 30 manuals with the stamp of MONU, over 300 methodological developments and more than 400 articles. The results of the research work of the institute’s teachers are reflected in the publications of various scientific professional publications, such as “Bulletin of the NBU”, “Economy of Ukraine”, “Finance of Ukraine”, “Banking”, “Law in Ukraine”.

This is achieved through the organization of charitable activities and the participation of our students in the state program "Mercy". Every month, students of the institute visit a boarding school for children with hearing impairments, and also provide assistance to disabled children at boarding school No. 3. Twice a year, the institute holds a campaign to collect things, toys, and household goods for donation to orphanages. Students actively participate not only in a variety of events that are held at the institute, they maintain close ties with youth organizations of other educational institutions and the city: the Committee for Family and Youth Affairs under the Kharkov City Executive Committee, the Regional Youth Center; with the youth work center, etc.

There is also active club life. The Journalist Club publishes the newspaper Our Right. The "Graduate" club attracts graduates of previous years to participate in the work of student clubs, to conduct student professional competitions and olympiads. It is impossible not to mention the youth center, because this is where the artistic abilities of our students are realized.

At the youth center there is a dance group Komilfo, vocal groups, a vocal instrumental ensemble, a KVK team, which are frequent participants and laureates of city competitions and festivals.

Traditionally, the artistic groups of the youth center hold events: “Day of Knowledge”, competition “Young Debut”, “Student’s Day”, “Beauty of the Academy”, etc.

A big role is given physical education as one of the elements of organizing meaningful healthy leisure for students. Already traditionally held: autumn and spring athletics cross-country, competitions in table tennis, basketball, soccer, volleyball, rhythmic dance competition, hiking trips historical places Kharkov region.

There are 6 sports sections: volleyball, basketball, recreational aerobics, table tennis, fitness. Of course, our pride is a comfortable hostel. Everything created in it the necessary conditions for completing educational tasks and relaxation. The dormitory has a sports room and a library. The students' passion for musicians, literature, and art is reflected in the work of interest groups and the holding of honorable and educational evenings.
